[Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands
(03-01-2024, 10:31 AM)Spiritmon Wrote: It takes some seconds panting in fear to Oz be able to say anything, still with adrenaline filling her body, the fear palpable in her hands.

Then Seddi heard her words coming from her mouth, still fearful but more controllable now. "*Sigh* To be quite honest? I don't know...I felt like my soul would leave my body. Don't know what would kill me first: Morgana or my own heart."

She looks at Seddi. "It was very brave of you to speak like that in the face of the Fairy Queen herself...or maybe foolish. Hell, maybe both." She puts her hand in the face, trying to clean the tears and sweat. "I thought for a second she would lash out and kill us all."

And Oz will gladly accept a hug from Goodra. Any help is welcome. Specially from a friendly dragon!

Seddi puts his hat back on and stands up after a bit, then walks over to Oz and sits next to her.

"Well, she didn't.  Thank Terapagos for that.  Hopefully Bernhard is going to be keeping her busy enough for a little while.  Don't know if I could manage that balancing act again any time soon.  Genuinely thought she had something against me, the way she was talking just before..."

Seddi shudders, not wanting to think about it.

He turns to Oz, noticing she's still trembling.  "For the record, I think you did the right thing.  I don't think she's going to come after us."

Oz had a sad laugh towards Seddi statement. "Dont know what a "Terapagos" is, but if is a Legendary Pokemon, then we are out of luck. Consider how things are grim on Neo Unova about Legendaries, we doesnt have luck."

Oz sigh and then apologize to Seddi. "Sorry...Wasn't my intention to sound mean or anything...I just...so so much tired. To try to pray to Legendaries, and then they either doesn't answer, or get killed. We lived in dark times..."

Oz finally notice the tremble in her hands. But this time was not just shaking of fear.

It is anger.

Anger to Morgana for patronizing them like the way she did. Anger to let fear control her. Anger to herself to just...kneel and beg for life. Anger to cower in fear and cry.

In sum: Anger because of be to much weak.

She hold her own hand trembling and then look at Seddi. "Do I? All I can see is coward woman to much scared for life to even try to stand up. A girl so desperate for her life and her Pokemon thinking for a second to left a group of people behind just to find a hole to hide. So fearful for her life and her sisters life was thinking for a second to break the oath of a medic to save lives. Thats the most important oath to a medic and healer: "We may not save everyone lives, but we can save as much lifes we can."

Then she looks at the ground, like a failure and a defeated person and sigh. "...And for a second I though to abandon that same oath because I am a failure and a coward to make a stand."

"How can I think I can save Sutalor, if I can't even have the courage to stand up and fight? Or even have a hope in that when even the Legendaries...give up?"

Oz put her head between her legs, the experience with Morgana having a toll on her and frustrate with herself. "I just...so tired. So so much tired. I guess that why I the Weary Soul I suppose..." Oz laugh because of the irony of the tittle. And fitting she suppose in a funny way.

Seddi sits there silently for a moment, letting Oz vent.  Only when she finishes, does he speak up.

"Well, I don't think I'm likely to be changing your mind, but bravery comes with experience.  And sometimes, the bravest thing you can do is know when you need to depend on others instead of trying to solve everything on your lonesome.  Standing your ground isn't always the correct response.  Sometimes you do need to run or let others handle the job, or at the very least ask for help.  Can't help people if you get yourself injured or killed, after all.  Knowing when you should fight and when you should not is a valuable skill in my experience.  It's something that took me years to figure out, to be perfectly honest.  Speakin' of depending on others though..."

Seddi will stand and offer Oz a hand to help her up.  "...you need a Helping Hand, you just let me know.  We're in this together, after all.  You, me, Leaves, everyone else, and all of our partners.  We can save this region and its people, watchin' each others' backs as we go.  You don't have to go through this alone."

(Here's your chance to ask Seddi for some assistance if desired, Spirit!)

Oz look at Seddi, hearing all his words about bravery and courage. How much he is right, and how much Oz want help.

For a second, she reach for his hand, ready as ever to grab it...more than willing to accept his streched hand...

But then...

Then she see again Seddi face again, with his hand at her, so willing to help her. So brave...

Everything she is not...And not a life she is willing to risk...not to anyone of them...not a second time.

With a look of sadness, she stands up alone, not grabbing his hand. "...Last time I ask for people help, they get killed because of me. I...I more used to be alone. I will do my job with the best of my strengh..."

"But...I must do this alone. I...I trully appreciate the act Seddi...But...to be quite honest...I cursed."

"And for your sake and for everything you care about...dont try to help me..."

And then she walks away, not daring to see Seddi in the eyes.

This...is her life. Fate cannot wait. One way or another, she must do her best. Alone, with the exception of her sisters. This is her duty.

But a duty she must do...alone. Such is the way of a medic.

Seddi watches Oz walk away, then sighs and walks back over to Leaves, Ceruledge, and Sand Crawler.

"Think we'll need to give her some time.  She may not want to ask us for help, but I think she'll be more help to us than she expects."

Ceruledge very pointedly watches Oz walk away.  Cursed?  Cursed???  Only one individual here is Cursing anything!  And she knows for a fact that she did not Curse Oz!

"I don't think she means that kind of Curse, Ceruledge.  No, somethin' else is botherin' her.  We'll just have to take it slow, see if we can get her to open up a little.  A battle later might help, and she did challenge us.  And if she wants to stand on her own, she'll need some training I reckon."

Seddi gets the various pokeballs for his pokemon back out.

"For now though, I think we've spent long enough in this park.  It's time we get to the Paldean Embassy and meet back up with the Professor."

His pokemon recalled, Seddi makes to leave the park as well and get back to his Official League Business.

But even after The Meeting of the Brave finally reaches its melancholy conclusion and everyone goes their separate ways for now, traces of what happened there remain in that small clearing.

Small, fuchsia colored flowers can be seen growing around that rock where there were once none.

A monument to the commitments made there, and the power of Iron Leaves.

If Oz needs a bit of comforting, Seddi has a pokemon that can help out a little too: a BIG FRIENDLY DRAGON!! Big Grin

"Goodra, ya mind helpin' with makin' sure the lady in black over there is alright?  I think we all need a breather after that run in with the most whimsical of Fairies.  Don't worry about me for now.  I've got Leaves and Ceruledge, so I should be fine after a moment."

Even a bit battered and bruised (metaphorically in this case), Seddi is still finding some Strength to help others.

While that scene has more or less resolved, I would like to note some very important details about Seddi's Goodraa:

- They're extremely gregarious and friendly, and keenly Alert to others feelings - they'd rush right over to give Oz a caring embrace at the word 'Go!' ....that also doesn't slime her up because the BIG FRIEND has excellent control over their Abilities!
- They're extremely powerful, an Aura of Draconic Might a almost visible halo that rivals the friendly energy they give off, and every gets the very real sense that this was one Pseudo you did not want to make an enemy with. Heck, they make Iron Leaves feel moderate by comparision!
- They're extremely upset behind their friendly and supporting smile, though only Seddi and maybe Ianai would be able to tell - they were very much aware of what went down and are seething at how impotent they were rendered due to Morgana's interference and just being about the worst match up for them as possible. After they were done comforting Oz they'd do their best to soothe Sand Crawler's own feelings and give Ceruledge an aadmonishing glare, making the former feel a bit better and the later bow their head in charinge (disappointing Goodra feels terrible...) . If allowed they'd also offer Seddi a hug, and to hoist him on their shoulder and carry them around to the Embassy (Strong and Comfortable Mount, they can be!)

Before leaving he'd notice Oz' situation and offer help by sending out Nalu. The jolly critter help with cheering up though a goodra is already very effective on that front.

In regards to the Department Store, you can buy anything listed in your Inventory's Cost page, and afterwards you have just enough time to go searching the huge store for all sorts of other goodies and unique Sutalorian DS Items! Just say what kind of thing you are looking for in general (or see what is basically offered from the Encounter/Store based on the description, like TMs) , and I'll Roll to see how close or how good of a place you can shop at!

Lani isn't shy - she was doing as Sand Crawler did and not drawing the attention of the Almighty Fairy onto her, unlike her IDIOT of a Trainer! Haven't you learnt not to do that by now, jeeze! Still, they seemed relatively unfazed from Morgana's debut - which, for a Dragon/Fighting Type is rather comendable!

Nalu does their level best to get Oz to cheer up by bouncing up and down her like a bouncy castle and tickling her with his spikes. Not the most conventional way of comforting someone, but the Jolly effort counts for a lot!

Vernon takes note of the direction Morgana told him, but he does not go that way. That sounds like TOO much excitement.
(He's fine if someone else wanted to investigate that instead).

Since most people he followed were heading toward town, Vernon winds up there too and decides to visit the Gear store to price a camera with a long lens. Then he goes to the Survival center.

As you resolutely walk away from where Morgana pointed you get the sudden feeling that you'll run into what she was hinting at, one day. Not this one, though - you had enough of all this danger and drama, thank you!

Eventually after a bit of wandering, you end up finding a quant little camera and photography shop run by a girl named Janice, dressed in a goth but comfortably frump style that was lazily filing her nails until you came. Upon asking for some assistence she perks up, and shows you her stock, of which is most important to you (potentially) as follows:

- Camera w/ Telescope Lens - $750 , but she tries to sell you on a Deluxe Package that include a 1 Year Warrenty, Portable Photo Printer, all sorts of equipment and lighting to make more profesional photos, and a 1 Year Membership to an Online Repository where you can download your photos as well as share them with others + download some for yourself, all for the low low price of $2000 Poke
- Flash Balls - Seal Strength 3, Blinds Target for one Round before Catch (Counts as a Status), $750 Poke each
- Photo Balls - Seal Strength 4, Can be re-used up to 1 Times on Failed Capture, Takes a Picture of the Scene around the Pokemon on Successful Capture, $1000 Poke.
- Flash Powder - Used for more archiac style cameras, it can also be used to create a Flash like Effect for the duration of an Encounter, $1000 per Unit
- Normal (Crisper Focus), Water (Blue Filter), Green (Green Screen), Fairy (Sparkles) and Dark (Sepia) Gems - Can be used to enhance photography by inserting them into a Camera bought here, but they also act as One Use Held Items for the Pokemon that's holding them (Can be Trigger at the User's Discretion); ask Dragonstrike for more details! $3000 Poke per Gem

The place also has an photo computer lab for use for a fee of $300 Poke for the whole day, and woman also does phone repairs due to how often those tend to get broken and people coming into here to get their lenses fixed. She also has a Smeargle and Ditto + a green room to make more custom photos, though the price of that service varies.

Lastly, Janice is willing to have a Pokemon Battle, as she's bored and a Fight will both entertain her on this slow day and potentially draw customers in/make for some good photography. Easy to Moderate in Difficulty, Single Battle, 1-3 Pokemon Used, Standard League Rules apply.

I'll hold off on the Last thing until everyone else has done their Third Encounter.

(As stated in the Meta thread, he'll be taking a Wild life! encounter)

*Flips Coin* North Beach it is!

Wild Life Encounters by the Surf!

*Rolls*
*Mutiple Rolls...*

Shellos Squad
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
Description: A small group of Western/Pink Shellos enjoying the sun and sand! How many get drawn into this Encounter depends on your approach.

Barbaracle
Difficulty: Moderate
Description: Currently practicing some of its Moves on a big sea boulder, chipping away at it with blow after blow

You could also attempt to catch one of the many Wingulls or other sea Birds flocking around here, and you can also try your luck at finding burred Pokemon if you want to Dig around for a bit (Easier and Better Chances if you actually have a Plan in Mind for this).

As for @Dragonstrike's Encounter : I'll get to it later due to some details that need to be hashed out, but you notice that Ianai has elected to join you for your trip. If asked, she plainly states 'I have nowhere else to go, and the city does not interest me. My path shall stay with you, for now.' Maybe you can get some conversation out of her to pass the time while you're trying to get to the Embassy?

For @Spiritmon : Yours will go into a seperate post, so stay tuned!

Quote:...Well...thats quite a way to end a meeting of heroes I suppose.

Just to make sure of this, me thinks she going to the south beach then. Try to relax a bit her mind and hopefully get better because of the ocean.

@Spiritmon

Feeling, to be blunt, the most depressed and worn out you've been for years and like your life has been cut short by the mere presence or her, you find yourself in a right haze as you walk through the town. Eventually, you that your feet carried you to a quiet, abandoned spot on the Southern Beaches, the sun looking as if it's about to sink beneath the waves. You find an abandoned beach towel and park yourself on it - whether it be simply sitting or laying down will be up to you. For a long time you simply stare off into the horizon, listening to the sound of the sea's breeze and water crashing upon the sands as you tried to get your head out of its Gloomy state....

"Well, what'd we have here? A pretty lady, mopping and sighing like happy hour's over. Not on this dandy man's watch!"

Abruptly you turn your head in the direction the voice came from, and find groovy looking man dressed up in a sports jacket and with the most stylish and biggest pompadour imaginable.

"Ya know, this is the second time today I found someone all by their lonesome on a beach while I was jostling around the sand, though this is a much safer place to dwellen than that other bloke was in. That guy could've been eaten by a Giant Trapinch if it weren't for me bailing him out, he he!

He gives you an easy going grin, beaming a braggart's sort of confidence that is enlivening, if anything else. He then gives you look, and motions to your side.

"Mind if I hang with ya, sheela? Might have came out here to get some alone time or get away from it all, but from where I'm standing? You look like ya need a bit of a pick me up on your spirits, eh?"

Darren tries to get the jump on Barbaracle, with Swadloon at the ready to pop off a Razor Leaf

Darren's Ambush roll: Dex(2)+Survival(2)+Stealth(2)=6D6 vs ins+survival+alert of the Barbaracle (hopefully it is too busy doing its thing to notice Darren?)

Razor Leaf
Accuracy: Dex(3)+Fight(4)+Channel(4)+Single Action(1)=12D6
Damage: Strength(2)+STAB(1)+QE(2)+Miracle Seed(1)+2=8D6+1
Notes:High crit, ranged

Vernon buys the camera and politely turns down the deluxe package, as he's not good with any tech more advanced than his flip phone.

He notes the location/price of the Photo Balls, but he's already got a couple.

Then he heads off to the Survival place (without a battle), keeping an eye out for any hints of information about Wailmer, plus whatever else the Survival center might have to offer.

(I meant shy more in terms of the other chars, no doubt she did well in that situation. Though being a bit of an idiot is a given when that bold :P)

He buys 2 paralyze heals and 2 ultra snax, totalling $1000.

He'll be checking out the TM section/tutors for sure, as well as adventuring gear and seeing if typed bait is offered. The better place to look for that would definitly be the Broadwalk but it doesn't hurt to check.
