[Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands

Basica11y, the Cube is a Temp Ho1ding Pin for Mons you don't want to add to your Team right away (or as an emergency option to rep1ace a mon that has to be sent to the PC/died, if you are that paranoid) or are p1anning to se11/trade/use as food 1ater, but in order to use it you have to go through standard Capture Procedures. The Mon is re1eased from the Cube after 24 Hours if the Mon is not transferred into another Party's Ba11, however, so you got a day to get whatever you caught to wherever its fina1 destination wi11 be!

Knowing this would it be fine to also grab a net ball? If it's not too late already ofc

She look at the man, and recompensing herself, she tried to keep her best apologetic smile. "Sorry about this...been having a rough day and get startled by your sudden presence."

"Second? Huh, I just hope the person didn't get hurt or anything. I just found this place to rest a bit."

She doesn't know what "sheela" is. She's probably so much outside of Sutalör she might have forgotten some words. Regardless she offer a space to the guy to sit beside her. "Well...I do came here to have some alone time...but I would be lying if I said some company would be good. And lift the spirits would be a good start I suppose. Guess fate would not let me be alone I guess. I do not mean that in a rude way I swear!"

“He, I do tend da have that, ’specially when I’m talking to fine ladies like yourself. Most can’t handle my quick wit or rougster’s charm, ya Dig?”

The Dandy Man teases at you with a devil may care attitude, folding his arm behind his head for a moment, completely in his element. Perhaps a little too forward , but you can see he has a good heart.

He simply nods back to , the smile playing at his lips as he stared at the sunset.

”Yeah, that fellow will be s’fine, I think. They’ve got a good ‘nough head on their shoulders, fine partners, and is slick as can be - well, excluding me, of course.”

The smooth cruiser plops down beside you with a ‘ K’ ! ‘ and just…sits there with you. No talking, no joking, no bugging. He just silently shares your company, only giving you an occasional glance to gauge how you’re feeling.

Looks like he’s only doing as he said - for now, he’s leaving the conversation to you, if you wish. After all, sometimes words aren’t needed, ya know?

Not much word to be had about getting yourself a whale of a Pokemon around here, especially from the locals who scoff at your attemtps to get info out of them, but you do manage to get a small Lead from a fisherman on a shopping trip - The Deep Sea Diving businesses or the Marina Fleet might be avenues to finding yourself that Mon, as Wailmers tend to either be far out at sea and/or located in the depths. Looks like you'll have to do some scrounging around there and sleuthing/socializing to see you'll get your chance to see an Oran of the Seas...

"Not sure why you're bothering with one of those behemoths, mate. Sure, their Size is great, and if you can grow them up to a Wailord they're almost impossible to wear out, but they're not exactly suited for the Land or most places ya can Battle in. Being Big also makes ya a more attractive target to swarms of Wild critters looking for their next juicy meal. Ah, but what do I know? I just like catching the small fishies and Mons, not any of those water fiends of huge monsters of the deep!" is what the fisherman says to you before you part ways. They're also open to a 1v1 Battle with their Staryu, citing they want to toughen them up a bit to be a more reliable Illuminate Lure for him, but if perfectly fine if the offer is declined.

"Thank you so much! Are you saying the Wailmer around here are huge? The ones we've heard about where I come from are only about 6'. Which I suppose is bigger than the average fishie, but I wouldn't call it a behemoth."

Vernon, who is visibly carrying a Grass type under one arm, agrees to a battle to help the Staryu.

"I find Pokemon - or their trainers - try their hardest when something is 'on the line', so to speak. Shall we say, $1000? And if I win, we have to trade phone numbers and you let me know if you hear anything about Wailmer, and I'm allowed to text you every now and then to ask about Water types."
Vernon will also agree to any lower counteroffer, he's not really in it for the money.

He's also not a jerk. He keeps Grass-type Turtwig tucked under one arm and sends the heavily-booted Munchlax out as his 1v1 Pokemon. Turtwig stays nice and calm throughout the battle, completely zen no matter what crazy things are happening around him. And he knows how to hold on to Vernon with a little side-hug and a piece of sleeve clutched in his beak, so as not to distract Vernon, who tends to run around a lot during battle.

Initiative: 2 Dex + 2 Survival + 2 Alert
Ability: Pickup

Throughout all this, Turtwig just calmly finishes his grass stem and waits for Vernon to get a free moment to hand him another one. (Vernon runs in circles looking for the best angle, like a referee at a wrestling match).

So Vernon visited the camera store and now gets two more, sounds like?

He'll buy Spit Up, Swallow, and Stockpile for Munchlax. $3000 spent.

Might get Honey Heaven Bait (750) but I haven't decided yet.

Seddi is rather startled by the tiny pokemon appearing right in front of his face before he's ready for it and falls over, his hat falling off his head in the process!

"Vaultin' Veluza!  Where in tarnation did you come from?!"

...and out comes his Veluza from their pokeball in dramatic fashion, gnashing his teeth eagerly in anticipation!  Did someone call for him?!  What needs to be sliced and diced?!

After a moment of blinking away the surprise, Seddi picks himself up, dusts himself off, and puts the hat back on.

"Stand down Veluza, stand down.  Just a little surprised, that's all."

Seddi gives this very strange pokemon a very curious look, seemingly understanding (partially) who's talking to them surprisingly quickly.  "So, you're Bernhard's friend?  Didn't take him for the type to have such a...how do I put this...unique partner.  Not gonna judge of course.  I'm a bit on the strange side myself, after all."

As expected your trusty sword fish leaps to your defense, ready to rip and tear....!

- And ends up shooting through a hoop.

That this downright ridiculously cute critter was holding, now hovering away from you. She - from the sound of her voice - does a little round of applause for Veluza!

"Woo-hoo! Bravo! 5/5 Stars! Real go-getting attitude, with the right amount of force to back it up! You go, fishie wishy!"

Veluza is now rather perplexed and a little uncertain at this situation he found himself in, looking back to you with a mild frown of concern. Uh...boss, you didn't say this was a performance or nothing, so what gives...?

Your words do manage to smooth things over, taking just long enough for that floating mouse-bird to giggle at you three - Ianai had a alarmed look and had a hand on Dusk Ball in particular on her shawls... - and dismiss the ring by throwing it away, where upon it vanished in a sparkling *Puff!*

"Hu hu hu! Where'd I come from, ya asking? Why its up in the air, of course! You'd be Surprised how often ya poor ground locked dwellers just don't look up - though that make things more amusing, hu hu hu...!"

The being before you - who seems to draw your attention like a Magnet Pull has on a Tinkaton looking for ferromagnetic scrap - rights herself before you, floating in mid-air at roughly head level and giving you all a exaggerated bow, sporting an impish smile all the while.

"Yes Indeedee I am! I'd tell ya my name, but 'Erni might feel put out if they don't do the introducing. They get a bit pouty if they're not allow to put on their 'Serious Mage' stick when it comes to me, hu huh! So for now, call me what ya like, Irons Man and Mystic Lass!"

She makes a couple of finger/paw guns and 'shoots' at you two with a wink, colorful but harmless sparks coming out and creating a miniature fireworks display.

"As for what 'else ya saying..."

She quirks an eyebrow that suddenly appeared on her face, waggling it up and down.

" Sometimes, Fate works in funny ways to pair ya up with the one you need most. Ain't that right, Sword Inheritor?"

The fuzzy and ridiculously cute creature then sighes, and seems to mellow out a tad.

"'Right, sorry about startling ya two. Just wanted to lighten things up after....that bitch popped in and almost cleaned house with ya lot. 'Course it gave me the chance to slip Erni for some personal time 'round the city and get to know the colorful Souls he ended up meeting in the Astral Expanses, but I'll die and distort in Giratina's Domain before I thank that demoness for the opportunity."

For a split second that cute expression turns Dark and ugly, before she perks right back up like it never happened.

"*Looks at Seddi, Concerned* Anywho...ya okay Seddi? Saw what happened between you and that bitch - not sure what it was, but I did know it involved the twos of yours Souls doing a freaky tango. Nearly took that as a chance to try and kill her again for the sheer gaul of messing with Souls like THAT, 'til I figured out it was on accident and you were strangely 'right. *Tilts head* Thought you'd be driven mad or dead from experiencing that bitch on full blast, but now that I'm getting a better looking at ya....your Soul is pretty tough and fine-tuned, eh? "

*Crosses Arms*

"I'm also very curious as what got her to give that Boa to you - bitch treasures her most momentous moments dearly, the fucking sicko - but if you don't want to share that's s'fine by me. All I want to know is if you're okay, okay? Not too good with that kind of thing no-more, but I could try to soothe any soul-aches you have left if you Wish?"

"I'm also curious to know more about what is with all them Swords of yours - I was teasing ya earlier, but are you seriously trying to take up the mantle of The Swords of Justice?"

Ianai for the moment remains silent, casting a wary glare at the Mythical Creature before her. She does not trust it, so she will be cautious and decide if it need be driven away...

"Might welcome, stranger! Yup, Sea Pokemon 'round here in Sutalor tend to be a bit on the bigger side or have other adapations compared to their kin in other Regions. Wailmors tend to be 'round twice the size of Hoen Wailmers, to give you a means of comparison. Sutalor's seas are some of the most deadly in the world, and that's without counting on the Jellies and their Kingdoms that used to plague the coasts all over - the life living there either bulked up to Survive, changed to find better niches, or just...died out. "

The Fisherman looks a bit surprised at the sudden wager, but gives a hearty laugh and talks you down to $500, stating he isn't in it for the money and not looking for a real serious challenge anway. "Just some good practice for the both of us, right? And sure kid, I'll trade Numbers and keep an ear to the Water about Wailmors, if you're still keen on getting one. Right, let's get to Fighting!

Seddi crosses his arms as this strange pokemon questions him, treating the encounter surprisingly casually.  "Honestly, still a bit shaken up, but I'll be fine.  Not my first tango with gettin' a little messed up like that.  Wasn't pleasant seein' exactly what that boa is made from get their neck snapped-and experiencing it as well for that matter-but I'll survive."

As for that last question...

"Nobody could ever really replace those Swords, lil' one.  I'm not purposefully lookin' to pick a fight with Enigma either.  The Top Champion would kill me if I did.  Just happen to have a particular affinity for rather sharp pokemon."

Between Leaves and that Boa, maybe there is something there.  It's not anything that Seddi had been purposefully seeking out though, so he's rather confident in saying it's not really a goal of his.

Pickup just means (GM discretion) the Pokemon picks up an item at the end of the Scene. (has to be out of its pokeball at some point during the Scene)

...Barely, just barely, you detect something else from her light hearted tone. Something...Pained, Regretful, and very, very Bitter. None of it directed at you or Bern, but at...herself and others?

Your casualness is meet in turn by her, as she nodded and gave you a happy smile.

"Whew, glad to hear it! Still, it must have been unpleasant, so apologies for what that bitch did. I'll prank her something nasty later to help even the score between ya, okay?"

You're not sure if she heard your mumbling, but she takes your affirmation in stride none the less.

At you lil' nickname for her the fuzzy birdmouse expression suddenly turns bemused and Knowing, her eye going half-lidded as she lets out a snicker.

" 'Lil' One ' , huh? Hate to break it to ya, but this lady is millinums older than you. If anything I should be calling you little, he he. Used to be bigger too, but...those days are long, long behind me. I'm just the smolest and greatest artist trying to enjoy herself now in day, hmm...."

Your response gets a thoughtful frown from her, as she tilted her head, scrutinizing you a bit.

"...A shame, but probably for the best. The Swords need a successor in my humble opinion, but they wouldn't want anyone sticking their necks out for The World's Changer or that bitch for them to get chopped. Or end up falling to the Double-Edge nature of the mantle - live by the Sword, die by the Sword, for one and all in need or Justified....

"....*Smiles* Still, happy with what you've done, intentionally or not. Happiest and most proud I've seen of that cute lil' tyke....what's left of him, anyway. He'll help you as much as he can, I believe."

She has a rather sad yet content smile as she finished, glancing at the Boa that was suddenly around your neck as she carrassed it gently. Faintly, you could feel a pulse coming from it to her - what, exactly, it meant elluded you.

"...We all live and die eventually, even us 'Immortals' and 'Divinities' . What matters is living a life you don't regret, and pass on what you can. 'Fore, I'd think they got done in horribly, but now...maybe they have a second chance. If you take anything away from me, take away that, Seddi."

Immediately she perked up and shot higher into the air, giving you a wink and a wave.

"'Nuff with the heavy stuff, I say! I took up enough of your time as is, so I'm going to head out now. Maybe I'll meet up with ya later, maybe not! Who's to say, hmm~? Going to pay a visit to Oz first before anythign else, though - girl looks like she needs some of my energy to blast away those old wounds! See ya, Swords at Hand, Lady Moon Smoke!"

...And with that the Mythical Creature *zips!* off, a sparkingly blurr as she head towards what looked to be the coast.

Well. That was something.

*Time Skip: Embassy - Paldean*

Eventually and with a little bit of asking for directions, you make it into the Government Seat of Sutalor, an old and historied section of the city that managed to preserve the past and bring forth the future in its arcitexture and Solidarity vibes. Finding your Embassy was easy from their - only delay was the Guards asking for why you were here, and simply flashing your Globe done the trick to get in.

You find yourself in the lobby, with a small lady manning a desk and tapping away at a keyboard, her focused completely absorbed in her task.

No signs of the Professor - perhaps they are deeper in, or are already meeting up with officials about your Mission or her Projects.

Ianai leans against a wall near the door, looking a bit bored and mildly uncomfortable here. Maybe she was not the biggest fan of the governments - which, considering her Native Status, would be all too understandable.
