Regardless, Seddi will fire off a text to all of the other player characters (minus Ianai, who's already present), to be read at their earliest convenience.

Heads up folks.  Looks like Sutalör isn't hesitating to throw its best at us.  A powerful Wandering Hurricane is expected to be hitting Bayahama in a month's time.  Sutalöran officials are willing to offer substantial compensation for those who attempt to take it down.  Would need backup if I were to make an attempt, and it would have to be within the next week ideally.  Can give more details in person when convenient if interested, but be warned this is likely to be a Lethal mission without proper preparation.

If this Wandering Hurricane isn't dealt with, we'll probably want to be out of the city before it decides to hit it.  Or at the very least, be prepared to weather the mother of all hurricanes until the government can take it down or drive it off.

The Professor would also like to speak with y'all about our research projects and mission when you get the time.  A measure of discretion is advisable, so it needs to be in person. 

Let me know when y'all are available and we can find somewhere we can talk in more detail about both topics.

Bernhard's first and initiate reaction to THAT message is to facepalm and mutter some muffled curses. No, he is obviously NOT happy nor impressed over what the chatterbox of a cowboy is writing there - do they not know how much of a WALKING DEATH FLAG a Wanderig Hurricane is? Do they not feel like they're biting off too much they can chew, Iron Leaves as a partner or not? Oh boi, Bernhard continues to fail making head nor tail of that young guy...

A suffering sigh later, he responds as following:

Seddi, are you even listening to yourself right there? No, that wasn't a question, for me feels you do not. Do you feel like you 'owe' Sutalör anything to engage in a fight against it, or are you simply up for a 'meaningful' challenge? Because a Wandering Hurricane is a Malefic Monstrum, in case you did not know that already. ...Let me respeat that for you: A MALEFIC MONSTRUM, known to have caused vast destructions and a great number of deaths of people and Pokemon alike. Give me a GOOD, VERY GOOD reason why I should join you in an 'attempt' to fight it, for otherwise I won't. I do not have a death wish, nor do my trusted partner-Pokemon.

I'll be awaiting your answer, and shall be available to speak in person tomorrow night at earliest, for I am busy. But to soothe you, yes your message does count as a 'serious matter', and I do genuinely appreciate your hint on my artistic partner.

It's not long before Bernhard gets a response from Seddi.

I'm well aware how dangerous the Malefic Monstrum are.  A few of them can be found in Paldea.  I don't have a death wish either, but I'm also backed into a bit of a political corner if I want to get my research mission started sooner rather than later.  I can assure you I gave this careful consideration.

Compensation being offered to me if I make an attempt is absolutely bonkers.  Hard to look at a choice between a Recycle EX TM, a Miracle Berry, or a Star Unity Ball and not consider if the challenge is worth the risk.  And yes, everyone who helps will get similar compensation from the government.  There's some other options I could choose from, but those are what jumped out at me as both a researcher and someone who's always lookin' for ways to strengthen my partners.  The government really doesn't want this thing to hit Bayahama directly.

A competent local man going by Dodger has offered to help a few times I hear, so I'm going to give him a call tomorrow.  Ianai has sworn thrice over to defeat it, regardless of whether she gets any assistance. 

You look to me like a mage with a lot of experience and powerful magics, especially with a partner like Muse on your side.  I think that's exactly the kind of power we need in times like this, particularly if your arsenal of spells will afford you an advantage against something that flies.  Something my pokemon have a distinct lack of to be honest, but I have a few hidden aces up my sleeve that should be able to leave an impact and give us an edge.

I hope you'll consider givin' us a hand.

"What's the timeline on when we need to evacuate?" Vernon will probably take this excuse to wander. "I'm happy to join up with anyone else who wants to exploring while we wait for this calamity to blow over."

Vernon gets a quick reply as well.

Any help is appreciated, even indirect help.  Keep me posted.

Re: Evacuation Window

If we were to do nothing, before it gets here in around a month.  If we fight it and lose?  Could be as soon as immediately after we aren't keeping it's attention.  This Malefic Monstrum is apparently on record as being incredibly vengeful and aggressive, and there's a high chance it would take its anger out on Bayahama if a couple of folks from the city attack it.

Of course, I don't plan on losing.  But be prepared to weather a storm.  Even if we win, there might be collateral damage from ripple effects of the battle.

"Seems a little presumptous to make that gamble on behalf of the city, but hopefully Seddi knows what he's doing," Vernon mutters when he gets the response.

Vernon will try to steer the conversation towards outfitting a plot-ready expedition.

“Wha - *BANG!* OWIE!”

The receptionist startles and ends up conking her head under the desk! Swiftly she raises up to face you, a cup of coffee in one hand and the other rubbing a goose egg on her head.

“So sorry about that, sir! Welcome to Sutalor’s Wild Life and Survival Center , the one stop Mecca to taking on the harsh but exciting beauty of our Region! What can I do for you, sir?”

Giving your request and expected party size causes the receptionists eye light up in awe and intrigue, giving you an evaluating look.

“Yes…we can certainly help with expedition THAT honking big. Don’t get many of them - not too many daring for the long and winding trips - but we are well equipped for anyone aiming to thoroughly explore Sutalor!”

”…* Rubs back of head* Eh he … but could we do all that tomorrow? It’d take ages to run you and your party through all our options for deep-end exploring, and it is getting pretty late… Would you be interested in setting up an appointment ?”

"Yeah, let's make an appointment. I'll text my friends, but I'm thinking maybe around lunchtime?" He takes the last three cookies and gives one to Munchlax, one to Turtwig, and one to himself.

Seddi will pull up a chair next to Sada.

"First thing we need to do: not panic.  Just because Morgana knows I have Leaves, that doesn't mean she sees me as a threat yet.  I think she's more fascinated than worried right now, and Enigma has no reason to come after us unless we give them one.  This situation isn't ideal, but it's salvageable.  Just need to focus on one problem at a time."

Sada is quiet as she digests that, resting her hands in her lap as she tooks a deep breath and lets it out.

"...Very well. I'll trust your judgement on this, since you seem to have some Insight into her mindset. More than most can say about her unless driven mad in the attempt, or so the rumors claim."

She turns to look at you, still glum but a fair bit more composed.

"I'll handle revealing the news to La Primera and try not to let her recall us, as well as the bueracratic nonsense Bayhama is Poochy piling us with. In the meantime  you focus on preparing for the Hunt against the GWH - I will do my best to enact my own plans when I have the time. *Sighs* I do have a request for you, however, and I doubt you will like it - I need you to get into contact with Morgana, either directly or through Bernhard, whichever is quicker and more feasible. Reasoning for this is that I need some concrete data to present to La Primera to tamper down on any overreactions like mine, and have enough to make a case why we should be able to continue operrating as we currently are. 

"*Grimaces* ....There is also this to consider - The City Council wants to know when you and our allies are going to take down GWH and you to Sign the Contract ASAP. Their reasoning is that they need to know the exact Date and Time so they can prepare evacuations and put the city under Lockdown, though I also suspect they are also anxious to also 'lockdown' guaranteed help. The people I meet strongly suggested it should happen between Now (Day 1) and seven days hence (Day 8 Start), or sometime after the Festival Celebration and the end of the Month (Days 11- 30). I hypothesized  they don't want a City Level Crisis potentially ruining these holidays, and the fact that this city's population density will be swelling with visitors wanting to particpate in the festivities would only compound any collaterol damage or civillian causalities - or fatalities, Ruins Forbid. *Frowns* I also suspect they prefer it done before the Celebration Festival starts, so that when you Succeed they have a 'major victory' for their administration and Sutalor as a whole to boost faith and popularity with the current status quo and overall amply the holidays for everyone - they want to use this Hunt as something akin to a Victory Dance to 'buff' their positions and the celebration, in other words."

Bloody fuck. Not only do the suits are all but on their hands and knees pleading for you to bail them out, they have the gall to rush you and try to profit on the windfall if you prevail. Or - perhaps more cynically - have a scapegoat they can sick the public on if you don't after you softened the beast up enough for their military and local branch of Trainer Corps clean up. 

Politics....just why did you want to become a League Bigshot again...? Oh yeah, because the positioin is great, but MAN can it get annoying when you're not focusing on the fieldwork part of your job...

Ianai, meanwhile, is just...awkwardly standing, looking rather unsure what she's supposed to do now or even say. She's with you on this Hunt, but seems to have trouble contributing.

When she notices your cute lil' turtle and bear she lets out a gasp before looking at you, stars in her eyes.

"Hey...would you mind letting me pet them? Never worked with a Turtwig, and it's years since I got to inspect a Munchlax!"

Presuming that is all, you are free to Finish this Forth Encounter and meet up with the other PCs, or simply find a place to bunker down for the Night, be it at a City, fancier lodgings, or even in a Park if you're feeling like roughing it a bit!

"This Turtwig has a pedigree traceable to Gardenia and Rowan! Just watch his beak." Vernon sets Munchlax on the counter like a toddler.

When that's all done, Vernon pitches his tent in the Park (far from Ariados) and sleeps. He sets up a pyramid of empty Gourmet Food tins as a makeshift alarm.

After shuffleing back on his feet he gives a surprised look to Nalu before getting ready for a little speech while the swimmer is occupied. ''Guess that is it then. Looks like the 'shrimpy Rissy' and his crew do have a few tricks up their sleeve.''

''You can stop guys, its over (not like you did anything to stop anyway big lady cough cough). Good going, especially you Nalu.'' He gives the protective urchin a pat on the head. ''The teamwork needs to be worked on though, can't have this guy being the only one having my back here. And you little man need some more self control. An incredible feat you pulled off here but that could have gone very bad, especially against a human.''

''Appreciate you all either way, lets get some food after this.''

Now turning towards the swimmer ''Everything okay over there? Seems like he roughed ya up pretty good.''

The Swimmer, after Healing herself but still quite literally red in the face after getting some thoroughly SCALDED, growled at your Taunt, fists balled up by her sides as she glared daggers!

"If by 'tricks' ya mean 'Divine Acts of Lady Luck,' then yeah, I'd say you got a few fucking tricks ya punk!"

She then heaves an aggreved *Sigh* and tosses a small bag at you, forcing you to scrambe to catch it! Within was $1000 Poke, as well as 2 Ranc and Ritsuko Berries!

"Grrraggh....win's a win, though, no matter how bullshit it is. Take these, your spoils of war! I was going to give those Berries as treats to Vappy, but...."

The abrasive lady gives a mean side-eye look to the fishy fox in question, before giving your team a complicated one afterwards.

"After seeing her napping on the play and how your team acted without ya holding the reigns....I think you need them more than me, bub."

Vappy has a shocked, wounded look at this confession, and desperately tries to send her Trainer Baby-Doll Eyes to change her mind, but to no avail! Zell and Rogue snigger at their compatriots 'lose' , which earns them an agnry 'Vaaaaa!' and a couple of Water Pulses that leaves the reeling! 

"*Looks over at her Team in Shock!* Wha - HEY! Knock it off! Ugh, you rascals, come'ere !!!"

The Swimmer then proceeds to join into the ensuing inter-team Brawl, completely forgetting about you in the process as she tries to break it up!

Uh....well....all's well that ends well, right?

You Won the Grand Melee! Record: 1 Win by Forfeit! 

You and Lani gain 10 XP! Nalu gains 15 XP for having GOD on his side that match, as well as making progress towads making his Scald better! Ecclesia gains only 5 XP due to her laziness, but makes progress on learning Yawn (3/12 Successes Obtained, Tutoring of Move Unlocked!) !

Thus ends your Forth Encounter - time to decide where you're staying for the Night, as well as if you're going to see any other PCs before then. Also, if you're looking for Food, their's a Sea Food Stand selling boiled prawns and fish tacos for practically nothing! (FYI - Regular Food usually doesn't cost anything, unless it's a REAL good luxury meal, and in that case it's likely to make a Pokemon Bond faster or serve as a good Diplomacy Bribe to someone!)

Seddi frowns when Sada says she'd like him to intentionally contact Morgana.  "Alright, I suppose I can talk with Bernhard about that when we see him in person next.  If it's concrete proof you need though, I already have a little proof that I'm not in her bad graces currently.  Convinced her to part with an accessory she was wearing as a token of her 'goodwill'."

The frown continues as Sada emphasizes that the government wants to make a big show of this.  "...of course they're going to want to put us on a pedestal or have us be the fall guys.  Might have to specifically request they give us some anonymity so we can go about our business without being pestered constantly by the public.  Fortunately, that week long timeframe shouldn't inconvenience me too much.  I'm already on a week long time limit as is if I want to have as optimal a matchup with this thing as I can manage.  Assuming Goodra is going to be able to hit it effectively, that is.  Lucky them."

Seddi will turn to Ianai.  He's got an idea for including her in the conversation

"Let's change topics for a moment.  You know these lands and its pokemon better than Sada and I.  What can you tell us about Wandering Hurricane, Ianai?  About the only thing I can surmise from just the name is that it might be a Flying type that's known for using moves like Hurricane.  Knowing what we do about Paldea's Paradoxes and Iron Sled already though, I can imagine that there are some key details I'm missing.  Going to need to learn as much as we can about the species and this unique individual before we have to fight it."

Oz once again chuckle a bit. "No problem. To be fair, I didnt said my name too, so no worry about it." She nod her head and then tell him. "Its a pleasure either way Dodger." When he said about to count with him, (if this was some kind of anime) a comical lamp light up in Oz head, and then she said. "Roger Rodger understood Dodger?"

She laugh a bit, barely holding herself after the horrible pun. "*Snort* Sorry...I couldn't resist!" She laugh just a bit and then hold herself. She just hope the Dandy Man dont hold a grudge against her because of the awful pun.


She follow the man, until they arrive at the place. Oz get afraid of the big Ursaring in the way of the club, but after Dodger take care of everything, she follow suit with Dandy, but not before she gave Ursaring a bow of respect. "Thank you sir." She etiquette said to Ursaring, and then was amazed by how cool the place is. 

Despite be shy as she is, she is sometimes energetic, and do enjoy some loud places, specially this one!

Almost like a child, she looks around, amazed and surprised by everything! The atmosphere. The music. The neon! This looks like the kind of place Oz would love to go with how chaotic it is! Persephone, being the chaotic gremmlin she is, problably see or hear even from inside the Pokeball the kind of place they are now, getting out of the Pokeball to see a bit more closer the place! Maybe even dancing a bit though the rhythm of the music!

Oz see the place pretty cool, but then when notices Persephone was out of her Pokeball, she get a worry face upon her pokemon release! "Persephone! Please, dont do anything who could get us into trouble please!"

She looks at Dandy and then give him a smile, both as grateful for him introduce her to this place, and worry because of Persephone release. "I think I will avoid Lethal fights. Its not my...thing. I think for now, we could enjoy some drinks, just to warm things a bit. We can see if we can do battles a bit later." When mentioned about not to be in trouble, she looks at Persephone, almost begging to her not to cause trouble, like she is pretty infamous and know to Oz.

The Dandy Man laughs along with you as you deliver that stylish pun, yelling "That's EXACTLY understood, Sheela, heh he!!"

The Ursaring nods back, before resuming its watch. No un-allowed guests were party crashing today or ever on its watch.

You wicked-esqe sister, who is already swaying to the hypnotic beat of the club and twirling around, giggles at your paranoid concern. Her, getting caught up to mischief or losing control of whatever spells she weaves? Perish Song the thought, Sister, whe he he~!

Then before you know it she quickly floats off into and onto the dance floor nearby, phasing through several people and Pokemon alike and startling them badly, much to her audible amusement as she cackles on and on... Oh dear...

Or not - Rodger doesn't seem too worried about your Ghostly witch's antics, so perhaps such behavior is more tolerated than you though?

Anyhow - the groove meister simply nods at your reluctance at bloodsports - "Yeah, not too big of a fan of'em either, but hey, some People and Mons like living on the edge, and everyone knows when the show's over" - and takes you over to the bar, which is staffed by a punk-ish middle aged woman wearing rockerboy get up with a mohawk that was somehow glowing neon pink! He pulls out a chair and seat you like a gentlman, before looking over to the bartender and giving her a charming grin.

"Heya, rocking queen. What Special Drinks we having 'night - Living or Dead?"

"*Huffs, rolling eyes* 'Sup, Dodger. 'Nights is Living - Heroes of Cheshire  this week. Region recently got in scuffle with Galar over some 'bad trade deal' and Fairy King came down like a ton of bricks on the fools responsible. Scared them almost all the way dead, heh!""
