Teambuilding Help Thread!

Post your in-game/competitive teams for others to critique and offer advice on!

Here's my planned team for my normal playthrough of Uranium I'm doing right now...

Metalynx
Splendifowl
Brainoar
Baariette
Theriamp
Alpico

Yes, yes, I know half the team is weak to Fighting. Dodgy The other half of the team covers for that though, I'd say. What do you guys think?

Splendifowl is not exactly the best Pokémon, mate. Besides Alpico and maybe Theriamp, your team is also slow as heck. Brainroar is a good special wall, but is also very weak to Electric, Dark, Ghost, Grass, and Bug, and since their are a derth of the first four types in the meta game....

I suggest replacing your Splendifowl or Theriamp with either a Chimconda with Petrify (Helps you and your team's speed), or go with a Siekameter (Stick Web is good, mate).

As for the Brainroar, you can opt to keep it for its high S.Def, but Astronite would be a better choice if your looking for a psychic type. Its fast, has a big enough movepool to do what it needs to do, and a all its abilities are useful in some way (Trace to predict abilities/copy them, Sturdy to survive a gariteed OHKO, and Technichain for 90 ATK Ancinet Power and Hidden Power [Grass or Fight would be preferable, though Dark is good as well]).
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

Currently, this is what I'm running.

Gellin
Nucleon
Navighast
Gararewl
Tubareel
Pajay

I feel like I have some good coverage. I need to get some better moves besides Hyper Voice on Nucleon (since it only has 10 PP), but idk what else to put.

Swift is a good choice; it makes good use of a maxed-out Sp. Atk stat.  It's not quite as powerful, but it has 20 PP and it never misses.  If you're taking on something that has two types (as long as one of those types isn't Nuclear or Steel), then the difference in power is negligible when the double type-disadvantage is considered (in-game, anyway -- not too sure about competitive!).

Hidden Power is great if you're fortunate enough to have a Nucleon that can learn the Fire-type Hidden Power; this will make Steel types easier to deal with, plus having a non-Nuclear move available for Nuclear types.

My own Nucleon has Flash and Half-Life for my other two moves; since it can't learn Hidden Power Fire, I'm hoping this combo (Flash to lower accuracy and hopefully forestall damage, then Half-Life to whittle the HP down) can prove effective for taking on other Nuclear-types (possibly Steel too, but I'm more inclined to switch to my Archilles for those).  It's an untested strategy though... I may regret it when I get to Zeta!

Swift is a good one. I just have to go back to the Move Relearner, which I forgot where he was lol. I usually use my Pajay to deal with those pesky steel types lol.

That seems to be a fairly solid team, but I'd use the Fortog line for water instead of Daikatuna since you already have a good steel Pokemon w/ Metalynx.
