Oz was taken back by such deal. She was afraid of loose and to work again to get Meza money...but she must gather strengh and be brave. "Deal. Lets do our best in this fight. Mind if I make preparations first?"

Their voice is....if you ever heard the Narrator from Bastion? Sounds just like them. Only gently. Softer. Peaceful.

"Today is a good day, though. I found you, after all."

They tilt their head over to you, giving you a small but compassionate smile.

"Feeling better?"

A good bit, yes, thank you. Still quite a bit confused, though - might you offer any hint as to how I arrived here?

"You're quite welcome. As for you're arrival to my humble island, I am wondering about that as well. My home is rather out of the way, as you can see. Still, there you were, washed up on the beach, unconscious of all. *Shrugs* I suppose it just happened. Sutalör can be like that, at times: working in its own Wild ways."

They don't seem overly concerned about this state of affairs - whether or not that puts you at ease I leave to you.

"Hmm...anything else you need? Just ask. If I can help, I will."

"Hmm....go ahead. But I'll be making my own too. Don't keep me waiting too long."

The old sea otter stalks off to the other side of the cargo container, her Toucannon and Ratfitti trailing behind her. You got the time and space to plan - better put it to good use.

Two questions, I suppose - I can't seem to smell the sea, and I'm wondering how to get to Bayhama. Her voice has become drowsy, and she's almost asleep in the warm sunlight.

Quote:You can still elect to spend a Moderate Encounter helping out at the Center, however - plenty of creative ways you and your insect friends can assist, especially with Aaron helping vouch for you (he's relieve and happy you're behaving and taking it easy)

Yes please (moderate helping out)

Righty oh!

Assisting the Nurses at the Center turned out to be a thoroughly daunting and taxing experience. Due to so many Centers being shut down due to the mass kidnappings almost every remaining one has been working at over maximum capacity and double overtime trying to handle all the extra patients that end up being diverted to them. Several doctors have been running shifts non-stop since that moment - if it was not for flaggerant mis-use of Vitality and Will restoratives and the specialized care of their Nurse Mons their would no doubt be many of them dead by Exhaustion.

Your offer to help was meet with a great deal of skepticism and reluctance, seeing as you are hardly a professional doctor, but Aaron was quick to grease the wheels and get you in the thick of things. Not only because even grueling nurse work would be better than the sort of non-sense you've been up to lately, but it'd be a valuable experience as well. Can't say no to gaining any medical Knowledge, especially if you're planning on going to brave the Wilds one day!

Based on the Pokemon you have, you're offered the following Services and Tasks to get done:

A) Make Silk cloth, gauze, and thread for Medical Use. Requires quite a bit of effort out of your Bugs (Exhausting them) and some Crafting/Medical Know-How, but this would GREATLY help ease the supply burden this Center has. Chloe in particular is great at Crafting due to her species' Instincts, though her over affectionate fixation on you could be mentally taxing.
B) Make Anti-venoms/Anti-toxins with Glommena's and Beedrill's help. Less demanding on your Bugs, but requiring much more Chemical , Crafting, and Medical Knowledge to pull off without making too much of a mess in things.
C) Surgery with Scizor and Galvantula. You'll assist in several cases as an aide to some doctors, directing your Mons to do the work necessary to treat patients and potentially save lives. Or end them, if you botch things. High stakes, but high rewards.

Choose one; if A or B, give me an idea of what you're general Crafting process will be, as well as if you want to tax your partners to maximize production and possible gains for everyone at the expense of their health.

"Ah, I was wondering when you would mention that. The waters around here have no scent. Pure as can be, yet brimming with life. It is strange, but such is the way of things."

Your question of transportation gets the slightest of raised eyebrows from the man, but they're smoothed away as he smiles at you almost dosing off.

"Sure you don't want to rest a little while longer? I have the means to get you there, but if you're in no rush then soaking in more of this sunlight would do you a world of good."

Vernon will forward this info as soon as he receives it, hoping to get a higher counteroffer from the party and also relishing a chance to be the source of a rumor. He will word the text so as not to put any pressure on Bernhard or Seddi, who have already so politely declined to trade.

"Also, if you know anyone who owns the Choice item for melee moves, maybe I could trade with them and give you a finder's fee? Maybe I'll use your bulletin board for that if I don't get any amazing offers."

The waitress seems reluctant to share at first despite making the offer in the first place, but after a moment and bit more insistence she shares a bit more detail, providing a name, picture, and basic description of the Mon in question:

Cruferrophant: Water/Steel Type Mechanical Pontoon Pokemon.  Pictured as described, except replace Red with purple, the fins with extendable boat propellers, the tusks with Harpoon Tusks, blue their Steel a bit, and have their legs able to rotate and deploy metallic floats if necessary. Lives along the boardline between the Twinspire Mountain range and the lower wetland/jungle vally, though can be found in small rivers in the drier East Sutalor too. Incredibly unruly, though if requested to be used as a boat they seem much more likely to cooperate and listen.

This specimen is slightly Overgrown: + 1 to HP and relatively minor increase in size

Luck/Fortune Roll for Request!
*Rolls*
2 Success, Pair of Duces, 1 Fail

She has to think for a bit and go check the records, and eventually she comes back with two Offers:

1. Choice Band for $35000 Poke ; If attempting to Barter with Items, 2x Items minimum that have to total total to 75% of Final Price + $5k Price hike ($30000k with 2 or more Items, Pay $10000k)
2. Choice Coat for $30000 Poke or roughly equivalent trade; if given Specs, they'd be more than delighted to 'trade down' , as it were, though the shop would want a $5k fee for it

Choice Coat: A striking green windbreaker kind of jacket (made in part of Fur Coat material) that Multiplies users' VIT by 1.5X (Rounded Up, Includes HP Boost) and enables the spamming of this list , as well as Counter, Metal Burst, Bide (VERY odd interaction), Rage, Skull Bash (Eliminates Charge Up Turn and allows Defensive Boost to be stacked up to 5 Times), Damage Defense Increasing (Like Steel Wing, or Lani's Bullet Punch EX) and Physical HP Restoration Moves (Like Drain Punch), Status Healing (Like Recover), and .Trick/Switcharoo/Bestow  . You don't threaten to tired yourself out with this Item, but in exchange you're more vulnerable Status Effects and Negative Stats in general.

Part of the price is the Finder's Fee as well as covered basic transaction, shipping, and protection costs.

"That's very cool. I love rideable Pokemon more than any other. I think I have no choice but to trade for Cruferrophant! Oh, hold on, I'm getting a text... if it's one of my friends wanting to trade, I might have to give them priority."

Vernon flips open his simple phone and finds the text is from Oz. @Spiritmon
"Hey Oz. You, a burden? Laughable! Anyway, I've been good. The amount of bulk in my party is getting very high, much to my delight. I can travel by land or sea without getting my feet wet or blistered. I caught a Dodrio... or at least I think I did? My memory of yesterday is hazy... feels like I lost some time. Oh, and I've also just obtained a Cruferrophant!"

Vernon pauses in his texting to hand over the Choice Specs and sign the waiver, giving the cafe worker a smile.

"I came here for a Cufant, but there were none to be found. I think Cruferrophant and I will become good friends... eventually. I need to work with him a lot, make sure he's comfortable with following orders when playtime is over. What is a Crufferophant, I hear you asking? It's a bit like a Donphan in appearance, but it's Water/Steel type and instead of resembling a tire, it resembles a pontoon boat. Up for a boat ride sometime? What have you been up to?"

If the topic of a battle with Seddi comes up, Vernon will agree to witness such an epic battle from the sidelines.

"Ok, sorry, I had to take that text. But it wasn't about the Choice Specs. I've signed, I've handed over the item - anything else we need to square away? I'm gonna go try to bond with this critter ASAP."

Once Vernon has the stats for Cruferrophant, he'll probably head to a fairly deserted part of a nearby waterway and send out Cruferrophant.

Flash-forward assuming no nasty surprises about Cruferrophant's ability to partake in basic training:
Vernon himself is on Pwee right now. Deep, deep in the sub-littoral zone of the water, right on the edge of sight, a huge shadowy shape lurks protectively, in case Cruferrophant proves too dangerous for young Pwee.
"Hello, Cruz, if that name is okay with you. I'm Vernon. I hear you love to give boat rides. Well, I love to ride 'em, so I think we'll get along swimmingly. This is Pwee - he knows Surf! First thing I want to know is if you prefer to give solo rides, or if it's the-more-the-merrier! Solo? Multiple? Just nod!"

This can frow into a basic bonding session if Cruferrophant allows. If he's more reticent, Vernon will have to react appropriately!

Strange indeed... No reason to question it further, though. It simply is.

Ah, the sunlight would indeed do me a world of good... I'm afraid, however, that I may have dropped off the face of the earth from the perspective of my partners. I'm a bit anxious to get back to them.

Though, if you wouldn't mind a visitor from time to time...

Your pun does get a snort out of the waitress, helping disperse the somewhat ominous and tense atmosphere that was forming. From the way she was looking at you as you completed the deal you had a hunch that her confidence in your abilities to handle such a....Paradoxical looking beast, but she raises no complaints. Be a bit hypocritical of her since she was the one to suggest this deal in the first place, and you know what they say: buyer beware. You were warned, but you were sold, so that is that!

Sold! Sutalörian Iron Treads (Cruferrophant) Obtained! Stat Block will be in the Meta Thread! WARNING: This is a Pseudo-Legend, and an fairly untamed one at that. Great care and caution is recommended in Bonding with them!

With how flooded and abandoned parts of the city was from the hurricane weather its hardly any trouble finding a quiet and secluded area to release your latest and greatest Mon. The great metallic yet hydrophillic pachyderm shook itself as it landed in the water upon summon, surprisingly not sending up as much of a Splash as you expected a critter its size. Perhaps its body is made of light weight metal? In any case they let out a *Hmmm* and automatically transform into their Pontoon Form, complete with two person seating popping up on their back. Curferrophant attention inevitably is drawn to you and Pwee, as they silently stared you do as you greet them.

...

Loyalty: (3) + 3* [Transportation] 3 Successes!
Disobedience: (1)(4)(2)(3)(2) 1 Success

...Slowly, they begin answering you questions. A nod to their nickname - indifferent as it was - and a swift nod to Mult-Rides. From the way their gaze sharpened, though, you had a feeling that any unfamiliar riders either must be on their best behavior or do something to earn the right for a smooth one, if you catch my drift.

I'll also tell you now that this Mon knows Surf, Whirlpool, and Dive - its an fully aquatic vehicle(Mon)!

Though, if you wouldn't mind a visitor from time to time...

"Hmm....that would indeed be quite concerning. Very well."

The old man puts his fishing rod away and gets up - and for the first time you realize how large he was. Taller than an Ursaluna on its paws and just as built, though a lot of that physique is conceal by the puffy, flowing nature of his clothing.

"Follow me, dear.  Let's get you to Bayhama, Swift as a shooting star."

He begins walking towards the beach, leaving you to catch up. He does turn to look back to you, however.

"And I think you'd be fine company. I'll give you my number, so we can stay in touch."

You're lead to a clear spot to the beach. There, the man reaches into his robes, pulling out an worn Pokeball, and with a flick of the Seal an Medicham materilizes right in front of you, already in a meditative pose. They looked just as old as their Trainer, yet you didn't have to be Psychic to know they were brimming with vim and Vitallity. The old man walks over to their partner and pats them on the shoulder before looking at you.

"Medicham here can Teleport you to Bayhama. Before that, though..."

The old man reaches inside his billowy shirt, and pulls out a Pokepack.

"Here. Just a little something I put together, to help you get back on your feet."

Within it contained an old Rotom Phone, 10x Potions, 5x Super Potions, 2x Hyper Potions, 1x Full Restore, 5x Revives, 1x Max Revive, 5 of each Status Berry, 3 Ethers, 10x Luxuray Balls, a TM for Hidden Power, and $25000 Poke. The pack itself shrinks to your size and is easily attached to your being.

He gives you his number before handing the phone over with a warm, ever welcoming smile.

"There you go. Whenever you're ready, just say the word. It has been nice meeting you, Espeon. Safe travels, and bright living."
