"...And those are what I'm offering to you. Which one is most agreeable to you, Akamu?"
''I'll take the opurtunity to get Nalu some training. With how fate keeps sending me dragons it'll be good for my main fairy defense specialist to have some more staying power. He'll be easy to work with I'm sure of it.''
''You may also want to take a look at my other spoils from said world. They look to be a capture device akin to a pokeball for the creatures at home there and a broken console of sorts.''
The almost savage looking doctor gives your friendly sea urchin a piercing, analytical inspects, rubbing her chin as she nodded more to herself than you.
"A Mareanie with Regenerator? Hm...yes, they will do fine under my special Training regimin - I may be able to up the intensity to the usual level for my own personal Party..."
Her tone was mild, but Nalu seemed to be catching some implications you weren't, as they seemed to pale and start sweating. Oh boy....they're in for a rough time, but the gains would be worth it.....he hoped.
The professor simply accepts the Items and promises to update you on whatever she can SCIENCE! out of them. Last, she simply hands you a small packet of papers - these concern Gloomtail . The information mostly mirrors that of the basic Info you got on it, but with a LOT of the previous (?) filled out:
- Lore seems to relate to It's Original World's History
- Loyalty will spike to 2 if Lani or another Powerful Female Pokemon/Entity is out and overseeing him
- Disobedience scales directly to mood: the less grumpy he is, the less you have to worry about him Challenging you or acting out
- Legendary Trait is as described by Sada (Otherworld Legend)
- Moxie (?) -> Black Dragon's Moxie: Every time this dragon lands a attack and deals Damage, add + 1 Damage to all its Moves (Stacks to + 5, counts as a buff for Power Trip purposes); Howl and Power Trip can also increment BDM by + 1 . If this dragon KOs another being, it gains a Free Action for the rest of the Encounter (Has a 0 Action Cost, goes First)
- Royalty -> Queen's Loyal Royal Pet: Source of Femdom Hell Malus, but also the source of it 'learning' how to be a Royal of sorts - Regular Mons and most humans MUST make Will + Survival + Empathy (+/- Bonuses) against this dragon's own STR + Will + Intimidate if Chalenged by the dragon. If the target Fails, they become Terrified : they lose Will = to the difference between their Roll vs the dragon's , decrease Stats/Skills/Specialties by 1, and Target(s) become susceptible to the dragon's (and by extension yours, if the dragon feels generous) control.
If Target(s) run out of will due to this, they Faint with whatever HP they have and can't awaken by normal means. Pseudos, Elite Trainers, and Strong Females are Immune to this Trait; for Strong Females, inverse this Roll against the dragon
If Target succeeds, + 1 to STR and SPE, and makes them forever immune to this Trait and negates BDM effectiveness by 3.
Surprise!(s) : Restrained (Reduces size and Max HP - they're roughly as big as a Gyarados, if more compact - can't add Trainer's Stats to its own nor realize its Full Potential) , 'Ultra' Beast (Technically counts as one, though it is weak by comparison) , Language (Can Speak....in a language from its World. Not that it feels like doing so most of the time...) , Pseudo-Rivarly (If on your Team, Males trend towards feeling defensive while Females aggressive towards YOU and him)
Note this down, and add them to your Character Sheet (Also, are you updating it? Because the one I have access to hasn't changed since I got it...)
With that, your Minor Encounter with the Professor is over, and the Bio Fang is now in her possession! What's going to be next on your itinerary ?
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

.......Oh the irony. Little did Bern know that when he said "You shall r e c e i v e ", he REALLY meant it. Like, REALLY REALLY. You overdid it, dear Bern. you overdid it BY FAR, you got yourself carried away. ...By your emotions out of all things, those very emotions you usually keep at bay and overly careful hidden from outer view. Though just because you mask and surpress them, like you have done for years, doesn't meant they are dealt with. Ohh, by far not.
Perhaps today was just the tipping point, the figurative last straw that broke the Camerupt's back.
Whatever has happened, whatever ominous s p e l l he cast there against the hoarde of rats, it will haunt the oh-so-stoic Magus for a while. Perhaps, maybe, will it also make him rethink and reconsider. Maybe, perhaps. Time will tell. Today's events will change him though, in what direction that change will go though... We'll see, for the better OR for the worse.

You and your Pokemon have earned the following net sum of XP to divide as you wish:
- 1 XP each from the Dead Rattata (Flat, no Mods) and 5 XP from the Rattacate (Flat, no Mods)
- 3 XP per Will of the Rattata + 5 XP per Will of the Rattacates ([3X3]X12 + ([5X7]X2) , subjected to your 0.5 XP Mod
- 10 XP for 'dealing' with Rattarule, no Mods
Total XP Earned: 12 + 10 + ([108 + 70]X0.5=89) + 10 = 121, or the angel's number. Oh the irony....
100 XP go to Bernhard himself, while 21 XP go to Spritzee. That smol dear pink fluffball, a treasure most dear... Little did he know that there lingered a power that divine, that cursed within them. He'll have to look into this further... He'll need to learn more, find out more... To, mayhaps and perhaps, master whatever spell that was. To make those that dare make enemies of HIM, fully and utterly regret having crossed paths with him... Hehe, yes indeed...
It almost felt like that the power that he inadvertidly called forth was calling for him from deep, deep within... From d e e p within himself, it appears. Right before it dispelled and Bernhard's good sense returned, he found himself returning that f o n d farewell.
Right before he blacked out.
(05-13-2025, 12:19 AM)Lord Windos Wrote: Suddenly you bolt up, awareness jumping at you like Zephy does to a sweets platter, panting hard and fast as you clutched your heart.
"Sir, SIR MAGI!"
A Nurse pops into your view, and you almost Cast a Spell on her, only for you to hiss as you felt your Gauntlet let out a ominous whine and the abuse it endure sting. It was then, as you become fully aware of your surroundings, of the hospital bed and the Pokemon Center emergency room you were in, that all was not well for you....and who how many else.
You are currently in one of Bayhama's Pokemon Centers resting, and have just gotten your stuff back after giving a report of things (however much you're willing to divulge).
How....how are you taking this?
He'll take this by immediately falling back backwards into the hospital bed, covering his eyes with his arm, having to process things and happenings at first.
His gaze lands on our gauntlet, and immediately we're sitting back up in shock and a surge of panic - it was THEN that Bernhard realized that he messed up. He messed up BADLY. How the heck is he going to explain THAT to Acrowls... How the heck is he going to explain to him that he messed up, that he messed up severly and utterly and completely... Worst case, he'll be kicked out of the Scimitar society. ...Hehehe... Back to the life of wanderlust for him and Zephy... Fun.
Furthermore, that a Curse Daemon creature... It escaped... Whatever he created thre and let loose, it's utterly and completely HIS fault.
...Let's not think about that now, for now it's ONLY REST AND RELAXATION PLEASE.
We'll request to remain at hospital for the night, have all of our lethal damage treated, and receive a sedative alongside tea. "I'm so sorry for the trouble... So, so SORRY...", we'll almost cry and whisper to the nurse. For all of our Pokemon (except Zephy), we'll likewise ask to be treated for all lethal damage. "Treasured companions they are to me... Treasured indeed. Even if they may not know or be aware of that... Please, they are... all that's left for me..."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TIMESKIP TO SOMETIME AROUND NIGHTTIME
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As tired and exhausted as he was, Bernhard did not find any rest. The sedative kicked in, yet sleep did not.
He just laid there within the hospital bed, unconscious Zephy in his arms held close...
.....
.........
.............
................... and cried.
Completely and utterly silent he cried, like he hasn't done in...well, years, probably. The events of the past few days were simply too much for him to handle, he could not stop the tears as much as he tried to fight them. He lost fighting them from the start.
He felt lonely. He, the textbook-example of a lone wolf. In this moment, he more than ever wished for a pack.
For how long he cried, he didn't know. Whether Zephy would notice or feel it, he didn't know either.
All he did know was that he felt better, giving in to his utterly surpressed emotions alongside his trusted and destinied Mythic just this time. It was almost invigorating. Liberating. Redemptive. There was something beyondly beautiful about these tears.
.....79 XP of Bernhard and 21 XP of Zephy, a total of 100 XP, are spent to remove the 0.25 XP mod of Zephy that comes from to Pseudo-Status and being a Tier 1 character.
(I'll get to the morning of Day 6 in a seperate post.)
Your playdate with the Rats and their now transformed ruler will forever leave a impression on you. Black magic always leaves its mark on its users, but the sort you used is in an entire League of its own - outright getting an Affinity from casting one spell is preposterous, and so is the same capable of instantly killing your targets. To say nothing of the less than gentle marks it left on you and your own.
Yet that P o w e r was oh so Alluring. Akin to the kind and Might wielded by Morgana Belladona herself - darker and gloomier, yes, but just as twisted, potent, enticing, and deadly.
You're confidant you could one day master it, but take care Bernhard - the Abyss is always watching, and all it takes is one wrong step to plunge right into it. You've escaped it before, many a time - can you keep it up is the question...
You hear a faint giggle as you returned i t s f o n d farewell, seemingly delighted.
You don't get much more before you indeed black out .

Unless Acrowls himself finds out about this and requests an update/debriefing you're not required to keep your former Mentor up on your activities 24/7 any longer. THAT phase of your life and relationship with him is long behind you now, and he generally trusts in your ability to 'finding your own way' without causing too much trouble.
With recent events in mind, though...perhaps it would be for the best to come up with a good story. Or a good cover story, if you want to try and lie your way out if he ever realizes your involvement in things...
Indeed, It now roams the streets. What it does...who knows? Won't be directly your fault, but that won't stop you or others feeling otherwise.
The Nurse overseeing your Health at the Pokemon Center gives you a silent look of Empathy and pity, not knowing the full story but understanding that whatever happened was not easy for you. They fulfil your request: by Tomorrow, you and your Pokemon will be at full HP, if thoroughly tired from the ordeal and a good chuck of the day gone (Null Minor Encounters for Day 6).
...
Though your artistic and adorably fluffy angel was still conked out...
...it didn't stop her from hugging you back and humming a soothing tune.
One that helps ease the turmoil you're in, and carries you right into a nice, dreamless slumber....

He almost lets out a sob. "We've got a lot to talk over. Like, a LOT. ...Later though, please."
Furthermore, once we got the attention of a Nurse we'll request to see Myra, Nirix and Spritzee. "....Please do tell me they'll be alright."
Zephy, who had just gotten up and let out a woozy *Mrrrr* , was in the middle of rubbing the sleep out of her eyes and saying "Ugh....why do I feel like I drank moonshine - " before letting out a 'MRREEEP!' at your sudden hug and overwrought state.
"Bwa-bwa-bwa Bern? What are you - ?* ...* Yes, ugh, I'm good enough. Don't wanna do anything requiring fine focus or try anything big or risky, but I'm fine and will be finer than wine later. *Pats you on the back with a soft smile* And so will you. There there, Erni....*Dizzy Spell* urp....BLARG!"
...Well, cleaning yourself off from the Mythical sick on you is as elegant of a way of getting your twos mind off this matter. For now.
Your Mons are all in good health, though Exhausted due to losing most, if not ALL their Will - set their Will to 0 for the Day. You can still call upon their Power, but they're not going to be doing much outside of their Balls. Careful about overtaxing them or your Gauntlet too, needless to say but needs to be noted.
Myra seemed especially concerned about you, nuzzling right into your side and letting out soothing rumbles. Spritze , however, seemed completely fine and unaffected by what happened - heck, they seem confused as to why everyone is in a funk if his blinking look is anything to go off on. Nirix just stand silent guard, watching over things and ready to Act despite their bone deep weariness .
You're cleared to leave the Center anytime - and ready to put that behind you and get stuff done.
If you're curious to know - the Nurses would say that they found you in front of the Center, on a spot out of the water and rain after hearing what sounded like a little girl giggling outside....

Oz was startled in see such rough Day. She get the memo from the police and is still very on edge after the last meeting with John. She decided to send a message to Seddi/@ Dragonstrike, Bernard/@ PhantomUnderYourDesk, Vernon/@ Iron and Akumu/@ Redstone about her location in going to to Tiffany Caffee. Wake up, brush her pokemon feathers and furrs, and after a little while, she goes to Tifanny caffee, while all the time looking around to see if she can see that damn John, and making sure she get ready either to run or fight (dont forget Fortuna bonus in her cheat just in case shit happen). And she alert everyone John and his gang war in the streets, so she alert them to be careful in case they decide to walk today. And the caffee its a safe spot since its been heavely armed with cops.
She found Tiffany problably doing a few things. Oz release Bethy and while her sister was in human form, she reach Tifanny. "Good day ma'am! How you doing! Got some time to talk? We have lots of things to tell ya." Oz also decided to help Tifanny in her work, while recounting the events of yesterday battle, and how difficult it was and amazing her daughter Bethy was. "Bethy was cool as hell there. She send some Life Dew, trick the Old Lady partneers, and was able to keep in the field despite the type disavantage! My sister was also amazing, but thanks to her trickery and amazing use of moves, she was also capable in stall the enemies, tank even some strong Dark-types moves from a Sheer Force Daikatuna, and even help Persephone set some nast moves with a amazing combo of Confuse Ray and Curse! And Daikatuna ended up hurting himself and get out of the battle. And after summon Hecate and Bethy was a badly state, I was about to return her to the Pokeball! But then she looks at me like: 'No, I not gonna return to the Pokeball, I gonna fight tooth and paw and kick that Old arse!' At least that was the kind of vibe she gave, she doesn't say anything, but her look said more than words. She was cool!" Oz from time to time look at Bethy, with how excited Oz feels in winning her first battle in a long time. Despite the heavy atmosphere of the battle, she feel great in win! It was not only her victory, but her sisters as well. "Also...I had amazing news. I get enough money to finally adopt Meza. I...I must be honest that I had to sell the Fossil I won to the Fossil Institute...I very grateful for the won I get, but I still feel a little bad in had to sell such amazing prize gift. But...I can now adopt Meza! And also, I ready in meet the lady you mentioned yesterday. Yesterday was rough, but I think we can arrange the meeting either now or later when you got time Tiffany!"
I'll count basic grooming and care of your Mons as a Bonus Encounter - they seem to appreciate it after all the Rain they had to endure yesterday! (Bonus has NOT been forgotten too)
The foxy waitress indeed was busy cleaning the tables and sprucing up the store before they opened it back up for the day, though they're more than willing to take a break to chat over breakfast with you. Bethy gave her mother a quick hug, who looked down on her fondly and rubbed her head before motioning for them to take a seat beside you. That gets a eye roll from the girl, but never the less she pairs back up with you, electing to remain silent for the time being.
"And a good morning to you, dear! I certainly do -though how about I get you some breakfast first if you got a long and tall tale to tell~"
Tiffany remained silent as you launched into the retelling of events, bemusement and pride flickering across her face as she watched both you and her daughter. Bethy seemed both bashful and proud of the attention she's getting , preening at several points and cringing at others - she looked about ready to smack you when you got to the 'her weakest moment' until her mom sent a warning look that got her to stop with a huff.
"Well well well....you had a rather exciting day. I admit I was worried you'd baby my little girl and not give her the good Fights she needs - " MOM!" - but I'm delighted to be proven wrong! Just be careful not to be too over eager, hmm? The hunt can be thrilling and fun, but sometimes you can end up with prey too orney to handle - or tussling with a predator ready to rip ya up."
Your news gets a happy smile and *Clap!* from the woman, not at all disappointed in your choices with selling the prize : they were yours to do with as you please, after all. Once you tell her you're ready to meet with your mysterious benefactor, however, she went all business and nodded, heading to the back of the shop to call them in...
...only to swiftly Return with a frown, sorry and a bit confused.
"Apologies dear, but apparently your patron is too busy to meet with you today - something about sudden preparations for a big event and needing to get their own stuff in order? For now, they said you'll just own them a little later and they'll be in touch. Rather odd of them to cancel like that, considering they seemed eager to meet ya, *Shrugs* but I guess bigger business can Ambush a big wig like them too."
So far, the time you've spent in the Koffee Shop qualifies as a Minor Encounter, with the aim being Adopting Meza and Bonding with Bethy/furthering your relationship with Tiffany. If you want to turn it into a Moderate Encounter do let me know mate!

(05-13-2025, 06:33 PM)Iron Wrote: Topic of choice: Best safety:beauty ratio in the Wilds
Main Street isn't a bad choice; might've voted Docks if I'd been online yesterday. And that's where Vernon is heading, but only after the Survival Center. He wants to ask for advice, then maybe let Cruz take a look at some other military hardware and get a feel for how to behave outside of a boat situation. Vernon will tour all the places that might know something about training a pseudo or about boats.
The gist of what you go on this esoteric topic was this:
1. The more Beautiful something was in the Wilds, the more Special, Strange, and often Dangerous it tended to be. In the case of Pokemon, those of particular Beauty are either so Vital, Tough, and good genes that nothing can wear away at their robust good looks, they're Smart, Insightful, and resourceful enough to actually do regular Beauty care on top of maximizing their Survival, or their is something Unique, Special, or otherwise abnormal about the Mon to justify their uncanny appearance.
2. The prettier, nicer, and lovely a place was in the wilds, the more heavily guarded and/or secluded it tends to be. Good real estate in the Wilds is forever at a high premium for man and especially Wild Mons, so expect stiff resistance or otherwise getting Ambushed/strong armed if you happen to find a gorgeous place to explore.
3. Pretty Items don't have a consistent Safety to Threat Ratio, especially when concerning Magical Artifacts or 'Star Tech' , as the A'ru Rarii ancient technology is called by the general public and Treasure Hunters. Always a gamble if the neat thing you Picked Up is benign or holding a 1000 year of kick ass for the first sorry smuck to mess with it.
4. Ugly-Scary things/Mons, by contrast, actually tend to be less Dangerous in the Wilds - or at least their threat level is readily apparent and far easier to prepare for. Rougher places tend not to attract too much of a crowd unless their is something Special about it, and nasty looking Mons tend to use their....well, looks as a defense mechanism to scare and ward off potential threats to THEM. Still, don't EVER let your guard down, even if you know the stuff you're dealing with - the Wilds always will find a way to trip even a veteran up to Strange and often dire ends...
5. In terms of individual Mons and places, the 'best' Safe and Beautiful Mons are the Wandering Healers (Clefable, Chansey Line, Audinos, etc), and the best place would be the Inland Archipelago Resort, a downright picturesque and tranquil vacation spot smack dab in the middle of an otherwise dangerous land.
===
You're greeted by a Male Ranger upon entering the S.C. and requesting help with one of your new Wild and Native Captures, whose face puckers when he realizes you got a hold of a Cruferrophant. With a heavy *Sigh* though they agree to help - its their job to prevent Trainers like you from getting killed by the more dangerous critters here, even when it come to helping out what appeared to be a green 'Rissy' from getting plowed and sunk by a very angry boataphant.
They let you bring Cruz to see the M.H. in the basement, accompanied by several especially burly Machamps and what looked to be an Quagsire of unusual size (BIG) and character (FOCUSED). Said Pseudo-Boat's reaction is at first caution and irritation/aggression seeing so many targets and no Tasks to be Completed, but they quickly become intrigued by the equipment as you hastily direct their attention over to it. Most of it eventually proved not interesting enough for it, but the boats and more heavily fortified vehicles got what sounded like challenging honks from it - seems like they considered such things rivals to it, uh oh...
Loyalty: (5) + 1 (Caution, Minor Trust) Success
Disobedience: (1)(5)(5)(2)(1)
Before they get riled up, though, you manage to soothe their temper by loudly and enthusiastically proclaiming its superiority to anything on offer here and it need not waste energy proving otherwise. Much to the relief and mild amusement of the Ranger and his support nearby, who all seem a bit more at ease now that you've shown to have some control over it.
You got a rough idea of its General Behavior when not Being a Boat: its going to treat things as general obstacles or threats that needed to be 'dealt with' to secure their area and assuage their own sense of Safety and Superiority.
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

That's actually really good info to have.
Vernon gazes longingly at the giant Quagsire, then snaps back into focus. Dealing with a pseudo is never a time to let your attention wander.
Vernon is gathering a nice checklist of how Cruz reacts to things and how to soothe his ego.
So now to the docks, to see if anyone there has ever trained this species or a similar one. Maybe Vernon will take some actual lessons on handling a (nonpokemon) boat - out of character for him, as he usually likes to relax and let the Pokemon do all the work of carrying him! But it will let him challenge Cruz more if he knows how to zip up waterfalls, pull waterskis, crash through big waves, etc. It's all about extreme sports for Cruz.

From there, you inevitably find your way to THE most happening place to be, as preparations for tomorrow's Festival are in full swing and maximum gear here at:

Music: Limbus Company OST - La Mancha Carnival
Hustling, bustling, vivid and riveting oh my! The heart of the Business District was FILLED with city workers, business owners (Big and small), and various official coordinating decorations, lighting, and beautiful works of art and advertising that represented the vibes of the Festival: LOUD, Bombastic, and Defiantly Celebratory! Living in Sutalör was not always as easy as it was these days, and the Settlers young and old know that all too well. Every day is full of excitement and adventure, but so too is brimming with Strangeness, Danger, the Fantastical and B e y on d, and much, much more things that all too easily upend lives and drag everything into CHAOS. So every day that Bayhama and its people prevails against the Wildness of their home is worth cherishing and celebrating with all the fervor and grit they WILL afford, and so the people decided a grand yearly celebration was in order.
Thus, the Bayhama Anniversary Festival began, and thus it shall continue as an enduring, thriving holiday that represents the Enduring, Fighting, and Tenacious Will of the Settlers! Hip hip, HOO YEEEEAAAAH!!!
Currently the roads were closed to vehicular traffic as the Festival Preparations were taking place, though Bikes and smaller forms of transportation (including Mon-based) were permitted. Already several Street Vendors, Attractions, and other spots of spectacle were already lined up and ready for the bustling early coming Settlers and Tourist crowds who wanted an early taste of what was to come. Still, business as usual was also taking place too - the fun hasn't quite begun, and their was still money to be made for the suits and fine ladies making their way to and fro. You even spot a few Wild Mons lurking about or blatantly out in the open, they too Attracted to the energy this place was giving off.
Alright, enough drinking in the scene, and time to dig in to what is on offer!

Generate due to in part Bern's Wishes and Seddi's Hunt for the Strange
A bafflingly fluorescent lupine of sorts is seen strutting down Main Street like it owned the place; judging by the wide berth the other Wild Mons were giving it and the worried looks some of the more veteran Trainers and Tourists this reaction was entirely warranted. Will disappear if not Taken within this First Offering of Encounters.

A Place where you can get all SORTS of Rare Berries and other delicacies sourced straight from the Wilds of Sutalor for cheap! They even have a sale going on Ritsuko Berries and some specific species of Rare Grass Pokemon that produce food stuffs of some kind; for more details take this Encounter!
Rare Berries? Cheap? Ritsiko? A place seemingly engineered to catch Akamu's attention was quickly found, intending to spend a Minor encounter.

When Darren comes across the guru, he looks briefly in confusion at how the stall, for a lack of better words, is set up, but there is something about this stranger that makes him stop and check things out.
"What do we have here?"
Actions: See what the semi-shady guru has for sell (OOC note: for some reason, my mental image of this guru is somewhat similar to the Merchant from RE4)

Vernon is also heading to the berries. He doesn't care about their battle properties, he just wants to bribe Dodrio, who has an especial love for berries. But Dodrio won't be released among all those tempting fruits. Nor Munchlax. Turtwig is out - Vernon holds him at arm's length to sniff at each berry, and Turtwig is too well trained to eat what isn't his.
