So I just finished the Power Plant Zeta sidequest, and Holy S**t (emphasis intended) was it intense! Every step, wild pokemon more than capable of crippling my own vastly overleveled 'mons were lurking, and then the game of cat and mouse with the Trawpints in the West portion (facing Lv. 75s when your highest is a level 69 is terrifying!), to the surprise attack in the dark by a Xenomite horde, and the final race against the clock to face down CURIE herself (that part was actually a bit anti-climactic, I swept her with my Yatagaryu, but I was so hopped up on adrenaline that I barely noticed)
To JV and Involuntary-Twitch, for the merits of the atmosphere of that sidequest ALONE I will recommend this game more highly than ever, and I extend my greatest admiration to you both and to anyone else who has contributed to the construction of that section of the game. It was, to put it plainly, amazing! The building intensity and sense of impending dread was expertly executed. I have never felt more like I had to keep on my toes, and that no corner obscured by darkness was safe more than I did there. That level was FANTASTIC!

Hehe, there's a reason for the little trips to the plants were and are my favorite parts of the story. While Epsilon was pure depression for me/my character, Omicron being somehow indescribable, Zeta was... impending doom, and pure intensity as you say.
Oh, and the background music of those plants are awesome.

Yes! The music was practically the best part, seeing as it it was what really made the intensity real. I never actually felt frightened for my chances of making it out in one piece, but Zeta just about did it. Best. Game levels. Ever.

The CURIE Battle is what made that Power Plant an true experience to me. Ominous yet epic music, a sweet fight against some of the best Nuclear 'mons around, and with such high stakes involved.... truly thrilling, I must say!

Oh yeah, I just finished Zeta for the 2nd time this morning and that part of the game is So Metal. Wow. The Curie battle music is my fave. I left it on in the background while writing fic chapters for Zeta lol.
But the first time round I was so underlevelled, and 100% agree with you about being scared I wouldn't get out of there! I was worn down to the bone by the time I found out how to work the switches to turn the power back on. I think like an idiot I guessed for a while, which you can imagine got me nowhere. And I took every single wrong turn in the final maze lmao.

Yeah, definitely overleveling again for the Championship...
