"Internet Connection Needed" Bug

So I'm connected to an Internet connection, first wireless than wired, and both times it said I need "...an internet connection to use the GTS, WT and VT" but I am connected to an Internet connection.

Exactly my problem...I didn't know it was a bug.

I don't know if it is a bug, I just put it as a bug because it's the first time I went to an Internet Connection Needed thing in the game and it didn't crash my game.

I really want to trade because all my pokemon suck and I can't even beat the 4th gym because I got the worst starter (Eletux) and I don't want to have to restart my save.

Eletux is not a bad starter, all it just needs is some TLC and it become a right and proper BEAST. Problem is that getting to that point takes awhile, and TM's for it are hard to come by at that point in the game. I suggest just grinding up you Pokémon to make get past Sheldon, or catching a Pokémon that can counter his annoying Tracton and grind it up to sufficiently awesome levels. If nothing else, grinding the S51 the game give you would be a decent solution to this, though it drag the battle into a crawl unless you got a favorable HP type...

If you want to trade to get some Pokémon, though, send a PM to Iron or Cody, and they'll see what they can do.

Oh my. Well, if you want a quick and easy option to get trading fast, you can try the ever old classic trick of uninstalling/reinstalling the game. You save data is safely tucked away, so deleting the game and getting the newest version usually does the trick for any ailing problems your game has. Hopefully, that will unbork the GTS for you...

I'll try that, but if it has something to do with the patcher, then I'm screwed, because I don't know how to get the patcher to work.

Uninstalling/Reinstalling didn't work so I'm convinced it has something to do with the patcher, but the good news is, you're right, my save file was not lost!
