Step counter and Day Care
#1
Hi. I think it might be useful to add a step counter to the game. It would work kinda like the Pokétch / Pokemon Watch from Gen 4, except since we don't have two screens to use, it would be a registrable Key item given by - just any NPC, I don't think it matters. Once activated, a little counter would appear in one of the corners of the screen until it's deactivated. The counter would reset every time it is disabled or you could reset it anytime thanks to a little button next to it, I don't know.
It would be especially useful to know where you're at when using the pokéradar or walking to hatch eggs (btw it would be possible to ride the bicycle at the same time).

Also please make it so that the guy at the Day Care calls you whenever your pokemon produce an egg. My first idea would be to add a second item on the screen (possibly an egg?) when they lay an egg, but on second thought I don't really like the idea of having too much extra stuff on screen.

Agreeing on the Step Counter. Could be sorta handy, even it wouldn't be more than a gimmick...

The Day Care owner is too far away (and a little too old) to call out for you while riding your bike to pieces. Lolz, how do you expect him to yell at you from that distance?

That would be nice, I'm not much of a breeder, at least in this game, I use the daycare more a training ground for filler pokemon in the dex so I level up some pokemon in the daycare while training my main team. Maybe they could add an app into the pokegear where if you look at it, it could show both pokemon in the daycare on the screen using the sprites from the pokemon team menu. There would be multiple things involved on this screen the levels of the pokemon would be displayed on the bottom left hand of the screen and the bottom right hand of the screen for each pokemon. The two pokemon could also have set distances from each other if the two pokemon on the app screen are really to each other the species are really compatible with each further set distance between each other showing how less compatible they are with each other so people could easily understand what breeds well with what. The egg would also show up in the middle of the screen if one is being held in the daycare.

That would be for people who want to do a full check up on pokemon in daycare but if someone wants a quick check up then the app will display an opaque egg symbol in a corner of the screen letting you know an egg is available for pick up. Also the app will have an option to turn on and off the egg symbol update thing to make it less intrusive fpr players who don't want it.

Just my idea...

Nope, what is this magical thing you call 'telephone'?

Hoshi, your idea would be indeed splendid for those who who are new to the field of breeding... But it would be a little too intrusive for the Pokemon.

Huh  Intrusive to the pokemon? What do you mean? Are you talking pokemon rights or something?

So that would essentially be the Day Care Checker app of the Pokétch (can someone confirm this is really how it's called? I'm French and Pokétch sounds to me like a terrible name for the watch). I too had actually thought about implementing it to the pokégear, I just figured having the Day Care couple calling you would be more convenient than checking the app every 200-ish steps. But you're right, there can be some use to graphically showing whether or not two pokemon would be able to breed together.

So since we're talking updating the pokégear, what do you think of adding the Friendship Checker and Berry Searcher apps? Berry Searcher would be a second map of the region with glowing red areas where berries are ready to be picked up, pretty much the same thing the pokédex does with pokémon location.

That's why I said the app would be for a person who wants to check in on the pokemon fully even when on the other side of the map while an egg symbol would just in the corner of your screen without accessing the app to show that an egg is ready. It would just appear while your cycling or running in the bottom corner and to keep less intrusive you can turn it on or off through the app. A berry checker like in ORAS would be nice.

Oh ok I was just trying to explain I thought you were a little confused is all. The berry checker in ORAS bascially had a list of berries located in each route. You would go to any route on your checker and it'll tell what berries are on that route, the individual amounts of how many berries on that route (so if you planted five orans berries on that route it'll show each oran berry as its own seperate thing), what stage of life the berries are in and around what time it'll take until the berries are going to be in full bloom (also done on an individual basis). That Berry checker in ORAS made berry management super easy.
