Some questions from a newbee (but not newfee)
#1
Hello,

First of all, I'm sorry for my poor english, but I'm french. Smile

I played Pokemon Red and Grenn long times ago (nearly 1990) with my children. Yes, I'm an old (but new) player.
So, I don't remember many things. I have some questions, not only upon this game, but also upon the "Pokemon's System". Sorry if I ask "stupid questions", but ......

Where can I find "mulch" for berries ?

What is the meaning of "FRN" on some pokemons ?

Why, some pokemons, have they an "XP bonus" when they win a battle ?

How can I remove an "Move" acquired by an HM ?

What are the curves of the different "leveling rates" ?

What are the exact formulas to compute HP and other skills ? Those found on the Bulbapedia don't give good results.

I didn't find the answers of these questions on the wiki. May be could it be good to have a "search system" in the wiki.

Do you want some help to translate game and wiki in french ? I'm retired and have time.

Have a good day and an happy new year.

Where can I find "mulch" for berries ?

In Uranium, nowhere. That stuff is not added into into the game yet.

What is the meaning of "FRN" on some pokemons ?

It's short for „Foreign“, meaning Pokemon with this tag come from a computer with a different default language than yours. In your case, from every computer that's not French. If such a tagged 'mon is mated with a not tagged 'mon, the chance that the egg will hatch a shiny Pokemon is increaded. (Known as „Masuda Method“)

Why, some pokemons, have they an "XP bonus" when they win a battle ?
You mean why those get more Experience Points that usual? Simply because they're traded, Pokemon with a different OT (Original Trainer) will always get 50% more Experience Points. Holding a Lucky Egg has the same effect, both effects stack.

How can I remove an "Move" acquired by an HM ?
Talk to the Mover Deleter, he's in Venesi City (from the Pokemon Center, walk left, it's the first house over the bridge). He does that for free.

What are the curves of the different "leveling rates" ?

I don't know the answer to that one, sorry.

What are the exact formulas to compute HP and other skills ? Those found on the Bulbapedia don't give good results.

You mean Hidden Power? Refer to this one for Uranium: http://pokemon-uranium.wikia.com/wiki/Hi...wer_(move)

@Akexus, here's someone who would like to help with the French translation Smile

Leveling rate is kinda a funny thing- http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Experience this article can help explain some of it, but for the most part, it's just a matter of how much exp. they need level up.

An experience page would be a nice addition to the wiki, and would probably help a lot, I'll see what I can put together for it!

There actually is a search feature on the wiki, but it can be tricky to pull up the right information sometimes. People are always willing to answer any questions there, though!

Hope you have a great day and year, too! Smile

Salut !

J'ai vu que tu souhaiterais éventuellement aider à la traduction en français du jeu. Ton avis reste le même ? (Désolé de te tutoyer, c'est pas habitude, si cela te dérange je te laisse me le faire savoir.)

Thank you for the quick answers. Smile

I was speaking about the formula to compute Attk, Def, ... that I found on the Bulbapedia :

Stat = ((Base * 2 + IV + (EV/4)) * Level / 100 + 5) * Nmod

I didn't find the same result than the program. Maybe am I wrong, I don't know.

Smile

I am not sure if Bulbapedia has more versions or not. I tried calculate stats with Bulbapedia formula (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Statistic) for generation III onward and it works.

You presented an easy calculating formula. I think it is helpful for a quick summary how high/low stats aproximately are.

Formula which works for me (exactly) is a bit more dificult- it counts natures and it has more floors inside (I expect Nmod means FLOOR; rounding down to an integer).

It looks like (except HP)
Stat=FLOOR((FLOOR((2*Base+IV+FLOOR(EV/4))*Level/100)+5)*Nature)

For HP the formula is
HP=FLOOR((2*Base+IV+FLOOR(EV/4))*Level/100)+Level+10

Thank you Nekra,

The formula is the same, "Nmod" means "Nature modification" and I know that this kind of game use Integer division so it's necessary to use the integer part of the number. (You say "Floor" but it is same thing)
10/3 = 3.333333333
INT(10/3) = 3

I wanted to be sure that the formula I found was the good. I'll try to compute later to see where is my mistake.
