Poliwag Round 2

Ekans Initiative (5)+1 = 6
Togepi is dodging
Ekans is Glaring

Poliwag's Water Gun
Fail = ekans, success = togepi
(2) Water Gun on Ekans
Acc: 2 dex + 1 fight +1 canalize = 4 dice
(1)(6)(2)(4) - 1 success, hit
Dmg: 2 power + 2 str + 1 stab -2 vitality = 3 dice.
(3)(4)(2) = 3 successes. Ekans takes 1 damage!

Poliwag doesn't like the snake being in its river!

Glare
Under Ventus' instructions, him being unskilled in Pokemon Battles and not knowing much about agility, Ekans' Glare cannot hit without a Will point.
Ekans decides to use Poison Sting! His favorite attack! Hopefully this will earn him food!
Acc: 1 dice
(6)
Dmg: 1 Str + 1 STAB +1 power -1 vitality = 2 dice
(2)(6) Poliwag takes 1 damage

Poison chance: (4)(2)(2) - no 6's (I feel like I did this wrong earlier but it's definitely 3 chances.)

Poliwag Round 3

A swarm of Hoppips, hanging out in clumps of two or three, drifts overhead from the west. Then, a sudden wind takes them back toward the west again - looks like you will have to choose between Ventus' science and your goal of encountering a Hoppip! There is still time if you run!

Clancey Round 2

Rattata
Rattata scurries off. This angry dog and cat will not be leaving any food!
Meowth will make a Loyalty check to resist
(3)(2) Meowth is distracted by the rat Pokemon, -1 evasion

Ember
Acc: 3+1 for meowth's evasion = 4 dice (I think you only subtract 3 for your 2nd action, not 4? "one extra dice for every action after your first". The example bears this out)
(3)(3)(5)(1) = hit
Dmg: 2 dice
(5)(5) Meowth takes 2 damage leaving 3 hp.
Burn:
(5) fail

Meowth's Bite
Acc: 4 dice
(3)(5)(5)(2) - Growlithe needs 2 successes to evade. He has cover and Intimidate to reduce the damage, too.
Evade: this is really Growlithe's primary action
(6)(4)(4)(1) - Growlithe evades

As Growlithe ducks behind cover, he pops up just long enough to strike a distracted Meowth with his attack. Meowth's trainer shouts for it to get its head back in the game.

Weedle Round 2

Weedle's will: 3 dice
(4)(1)(1) - 0 successes.

Pokeball seals: 2 dice
(3)(4) - Weedle scarcely resists being caught.

Larry caught a Weedle.

It knows Poison Sting and String Shot.

Its ability is Shield Dust.

It will be relatively happy because you didn't damage it first!

Mechanics:

Winston:
Initiative: 8

Order:

Secondary Action: Ember

I'm keeping up the routine of focusing on defence while plinking.

Dexterity + Fight +Evasion - Multi Action Penalty (2)

Ember:
Accuracy:
Pool 3
3 Dex + 3 Fight + 0 Channel - Multi Action Penalty (3)
Damage: Pool 2, Burn *1*
2 Special (Str) + 2 + STAB - 3 Target Vitality
Burn *1*

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"FIGHTING DIRTY?" The disembodied voice in his skull interjects with a query.

You did say I couldn't take a hit. Until I get stronger, I'm just playing to my strengths.

"Good, Winston. Keep up the pressure and don't get sloppy." He gestures at the fire pit. "Stick to cover and blind it!"

The Growlithe circles the log, intent on keeping it's wooden cover between it and the offending Meowth, waiting to seize the opportunity to strike.

"Use Ember when an opening appears!"

Vincent glances across the impromptu battle site at Clancey with some concern in his voice. "Clancey! Your Meowth is hurting. You want to call the match?"

Reply
Calmly deliberating his available options, he decide that an all out offensive would the optimal choice. With a quick snap of his fingers, he commands his Pokémon attention.

"Aspis, rush down the target and Poison Sting it. Raphael, strike it while its tied up by Apsis, then fall back to the tall grass. Do this right, and both of you are getting treats for this."

Mechanics:

Ekan's Initiative: 6
Togepi's Initiative: 7

Orders:
Ekans will close the distance between it and Poliwag, and use Poison Sting on it. Raphael will then use strike on Poliwag while its occupied.

Poison Sting
Accuracy:
Strength + Dex +Channel

Damage: Strength + 1, Poison *3*

Nathan's been digging around in the berry bushes while these battles have been going on. He's very focused on finding more shiny objects, and has found 3 pokeballs that were likely left there by inexperienced trainers who missed their throws. He's mumbling something about a chance there might be more scraps and wires, and isn't paying too much attention to Ralts right now.

Ralts, meanwhile, is curiously looking towards the open fields of the route, trying to ignore Nathan's focus on metal. Mostly at Moran, who's been scuttling around the area for a little while now, rather unattended while Vincent and Winston do battle...

Clancey Round 3

Ember
(5)(2)(6) hit
Dmg:
(6)(3) Meowth takes 1 damage. Leaves him with 2 hp.

Growlithe circles the log. Meowth does the same, keeping all its focus on its opponent. Suddenly Meowth lunges in the opposite direction. Growlithe banks sharply, giving the turn a little extra oomph to obey the command of kicking up ashes. As Meowth lunges, its rush is stopped by an Ember from Winston.

"All right, all right. I know when I'm beaten. Meowth, return!"

He hands over your prize and shakes your hand. His is very grimy. Then he starts patching up Meowth. Clancey smiles and takes something out of Meowth's paw. "Ah! It found something during the scuffle. A Berry!" He feeds the berry to Meowth.

Winston gains 3XP and you gain 1. The Pokemon is very proud to come out so far ahead in a battle. 1 point of happiness for Growlithe.

Poliwag Round 3

Ekans successfully draws the Poliwag's next shot.

(5)(4)(5)(1) = hit
(4)(1)(5) - Ekans takes 2 damage.

Togepi rears back and winds up its little arm for a strike.
(6) - Lucky hit!
Dmg: 1 dice
(6) - More good luck! Poliwag takes 1 damage. It has now taken 2 and has 2 left.

Togepi celebrates his luck! Then he runs back and takes cover in the rushes.

Poison Sting
Acc: (5) - hit. Your single dice are being lucky!
Dmg: (4)(3) - Poliwag takes 1 more damage leaving him with a single point of health.
Poison: (4)(3)(2) nope

Poliwag turns and begins splashing away! He's headed for deeper water.

Cottonee enjoys just watching a battle, and gains a point of happiness as it's cuddled in Shiva's arms.
The proud Togepi is doing a victory dance - he's 1 point happier too. Of course, this means the Poliwag is guarded only by a violent Ekans.

"Well fought, Clancey." Vincent returns the Survivalist's vigorous handshake. "Your Meowth's a tough little fighter. Never seen a 'Mon take quite so much punishment and walk it off. What have you been feeding that thing?"

As Winston pads over from the impromptu arena, an upturned red dish frantically slides over and clatters to a halt next to his feet as the bug hunkers down and pulls all it's extremities beneath the dish.

Glancing around, Vincent waves away an interested looking pidgey. "No. Bad bird. Shoo!"

"I just got into the whole trainer business recently, and I'm curious how you raised your Pokemon to be so tough. If you've got any advice, I'd be happy to hear you out."

Reaching into his pocket, he pulls out the Pokedex and thumbs his way over to the phone function. Pulling up the messenger function, he quickly taps Nathan a short message before shoving it back into a pant pocket. "Talked to a Trainer. No sign of horse tracks from across the river. Probably east of current position. Might go look in a bit."
