[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Rachel Round 1

"Nidorina? I have better Pokemon now. Rare ones! Besides, Poison isn't allowed on this route, and I'm heading to Trillium. But I've said too much! I only have to explain myself if you win, haha!!"

Lileep's initiative was 6, with 3 dex.
Oshawott's Initiative: (4) +2 dex = 6

Since Oshawott only knows Tackle I think we can assume that is what he'll use. Larry, we need to go through later and see if Oshawott has enough XP for Water Gun, since I think you ought to be close. Could even learn it mid battle if you have enough XP already!

"Lileep! Use Constrict!"

Constrict
Accuracy: 3 Dex +2 Fight +0 Brawl
(5)(2)(3)(3)(2) - 1 success, hit
Damage: 1 Str + 1 power - vitality = 1 dice
(6) - Oshawott takes 1 damage and is Wrapped by Lileep! He'll take 2 dice of damage at the end of each round.

Tackle
Accuracy: 2 Dex = 2 dice
(4)(5) = 2 success, hit
Damage: 1 Str + 2 power - 1 vitality = 2 dice, -1 resistance
(4)(4) - Lileep takes 1 damage and has 3hp remaining.

Oshawott tries to bear Lileep to the ground, but her Suction Cups bear her right back upright like a Weeble-Wobble. He bruises one of her little tentacle things though.

(1)(5) Oshawott takes 1 damage from Constriction and is now operating at a minor Pain Penalization.

"Lileep, you know what to do now!"
The Pokemon pops out of its shell right into the startled Oshawott's face, since Bubbles is held so close.

Astonish
(2)(5)(1)(1)(6) Barely hits!
Dmg:
(1) No damage from that attack.

Tackle
Accuracy: 2 dice, -1 pain penalization
(5) - hit
Dmg:
(6)(3) = 1 success, 1 removed = no damage.

"Poor Oshawott. Bubbles is a cute name! But no amount of cracking will get through Lileep's tough shell."

Constriction
(6)(3) - Oshawott takes 1 damage.

(6) Oshawott takes 1 more damage He has a single hp left and only a Luck Dice can score him a hit.

"Want to call it here, Larry?" She waves her Pokedex in your face. "It was a brave effort for little Oshawott. I'm glad you got a rare Pokemon from Mallorn."

He noticed it oozing out a strange fluid that was entrancing Raphael. He immedianlty flicked out his Pokeball and returned it to his Pokeball, shielding it from the effects of the dubious plant. Turning towards Shiva, he was about to tell her to recall her Pokémon, when he gaped at her. In her uncovered hand was that very flower. "SHIVA, DROP THAT FLOWER NOW! ITS ENTRALLING OUR POKEMON, AND I DONT KNOW WHAT IT MIGHT DO TO US!" He shouted, quite urget in his desire for her to get rid of the flower. It appears that Cottenee was covered in its sap, so it need to be washed ASAP .

Oh. So it were these flowers that terrified him.

Quite disturbed by his sudden and intense reaction, she needed a moment to realise what he wanted. "OkayOkay! We will NOT take them with us..." She immediately placed those flowers down to the ground ('placed', not 'threw' - in her eyes, they were too precious to be slapped to the ground) and backed two steps away from them to be closer to Ventus, who seemed quite eager to have as much distance between him and these flowers as possible.

However, she's keeping that second Ranc Berry flower she picked up just before. Maybe later she will be able to gift it to Raphael.

She then gave him an expression that clearly showed that she didn't quite understand what's so bad about those particluar flowers, and what he meant by 'entralling our Pokemon'.

Ventus sighed in relief as Shiva placed the flowers on the ground, but he was still very riled up. He was hyperventilating and sweating, and was shaking ever so slightly at being near these flowers. 'I don't know what these things are, but they are NOT good what. so. EVER! I need to get Shiva and the group out of here, fast, before these 'flowers' do something terrible! I can't let it happen again...!' Ventus frantically though, gently gripping Shiva's hand and started to lead her away from the flowers.

While he was leaving the clearing, though, his phone started buzzing in his satchel. Pulling it out, he checked what messages were on it. "It...appears that Vincent... and Nathan have captured Ponyta...Shiva. They have...also met a....Survialist that can...make flute...weeeh. I need to...catch my breath," he said, stopping for a few moments to do calm down a bit. He usually doesn't get this bent out of shape over flowers, but they are so...unnatural. Or maybe too natural. Eventually, he got a grip on his emotions, stopped panting, and tracked his steps back to where he saw them last. Soon, he spotted them from about 20 feet away, and made his way to greet them. Even from that distance, it was apparent that Ventus was quite disleveled, and it only got more clear that he wasn't exactly in the finest state as he approached them.

"Greetings, my friends. I got the message that you successfully corralled the errant Ponyta, and that the stranger you meet was a flute maker. I was looking for it myself while hunting for berries, but I came across some... bizarre flowers. I studied them a bit, and have come to the conclusion that they could be quite possibly dangerous. While I would prefer to catch up on what you were doing while I was busy with Shiva, I do believe it is best we leave this medow. Now."

She could feel that something was definitely wrong as he took her by the hand. It must be these flowers... How weird. They were so lovely, almost magical... A little like Fairies...!

But deciding that it might be best not to stress poor Ventus more on these, she did not protest as he led her away. Maybe, if he's feeling a little better, she might ask him why he was so upset about those plants. Cottonee carefully followed them. It still had a slight scent of these magical flowers on its fluffy body...

Upon meeting up with Vincent and Nathan (Larry wasn't with them, though... Hopefully he was fine, and not doing anything foolish...), she greeted them as well, honestly glad to see them again.

Just as she was about to ask what they experienced on Route 1 so far, she heard Ventus calling these particular flowers... dangerous...? Honestly, what was so dangerous about them?! Confusing...

Just as Ventus brought up the desire to leave this meadow, the sun became veiled in clouds, leaving the reunited group in shadows. How many hours have passed by now...?

"Leaving this meadow... Eh, maybe we should aslo start looking for a place to spend the night... before it's getting dark." She drawed the Guidebook (again, she really likes that new book, does she?) and turned a few pages, before taking a look at the surroundings again. "Appearantly, there is a free camping side a little East from here... If we follow this path we're on currently, we shouldn't miss it."

Ralts, of course, is still keen on investigating the flower field and the area beyond it.

Nathan turns to see Ventus and Shiva have arrived, interrupting the survivalist once again. Ventus looked a little...distressed, to put it mildly. Ralts is hiding behind Nathan, very uncomfortable with what the researcher had just said. Swiftfire looks rather uncomfortable too, startled by the newcomers, and is also staying close to Nathan.

"Huh? The flowers? Dangerous? Ventus, what are you babbling on about? If it's those translucent flowers found all over this meadow, we don't really know anything about them right now. This survivalist..." Nathan points at him. "...may know a bit about them though. And considering Ralts seems to recognize them, I'm very interested in what he might have to say about them.

"Besides, we can't really leave this area until Larry gets here anyways."

Ventus immedianlty tenses up at what Nathan said, with his twitch uncontroallably as a strange feeling pass over him. What was that feeling, I wonder? Oh yeah, it was anger. "Nathan," Ventus said, in a tone of voice eerily void of any of his usually affection, and instead was so cold that it could make an Ice type shiver. "I will not mince words: these flowers are bad news. I don't need to know the specific of these botanical nightmare to know that are arcane. Believe me when I say when something is arcane, nothing good will come of investigating it. I have...experience in these matter," Ventus intoned, glaring at the young trainer.

He needs to impress upon him the severity of them, and get them out of here FAST. Larry was not in the area, last time he checked, so the group will message him the location of their camp site. After they get out of HERE. "If your Ralts recognizes them, why not ask it the details. While its Psychic powers are not fully developed, it should be able to convey at leasts its feelings regarding them. Speaking for myself, I can interpret from what I feel from Ralts that his history with the flowers is...complicated. Very complicated. Something that can be investigated away from here, if I can insist.," Ventus said, his gaze growing colder and colder as it bored into the young trainer. He looked towards the flute maker, and then back to him. "If you are that recklessly curious, though, ask him your question. If he's been around these flowers long enough, though, I doubt he has anything salient to say on them," he says, shaking his head in pure frustration.

Walking straight up to Nathan, to the point that he's just outside his personal space, he says, in the coldest, deadest voice imaginable, " If you choose not to leave this place, though, I do everything in my power to obliterate every trace of those flowers here, and drag you to the camp site, no matter your protest. I will not let ANYONE come to misfortune because of these things, even if I they end up hating me for my actions."

Nathan stares right back at Ventus, not flinching under his intense gaze.  His tone is filled with implied rage.  "Why do you think I'm interested in them in the first place? I know what Ralts feels concerning these flowers.  He doesn't just like them.  They MEAN something to him.  If this survivalist knows something about these flowers, I NEED to know.  Ralts hasn't stopped thinking about them since he realized they were here, and you're making him incredibly nervous right now.  I can't guarantee he'll continue to be friendly towards you if you detroy this meadow.  Yes, there's that many of them."

Nathan lets the silence ring.  Ralts is hiding behind Nathan completely now, upset due to the argument going on.
