[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
"So. Correct me if I wrong Pierre, but this is a meteor strike zone and the plants that grow around this spot have medicinal value as a painkiller but they take a long time to grow." He waits for confirmation from the survivalist before continuing.

"I'm impressed Pierre. Where did you learn all of this? That herbal knowledge is impressive beyond words. I've also never seen someone use a flute like that before. We helped you make one earlier and we've got fire Pokemon. Could you teach us how to make and play our own?"

He leans over to Nathan.

"That herbal concoction could be useful to keep around if we follow his instructions and cook up a batch, but generous as he is in sharing, way I look at it, it just wouldn't be right hording his entire stash. After all, he basically was here first and he did help us with your Ponyta situation."

Ventus and Shiva, after about 15 minutes, arrived at the camping ground. It had nice, even ground, with enough space to pitch the entirty of their large tent. There was even a fire pit a little was off, line with stones and filled with ashes. Judging by the growing shadows and how low the sun was on the horizon, night was about to fall so, with a small sigh, Ventus brought out the tent. After another half hour of hard work, grunting, and some humming (to stave of complete boredom), the tent was set up in all of its magnificent glory.

Looking upon his work, he wiped the sweet off his brow, and just looked over to Shiva, smiling sadly. "I bought this tent for all of us to share on the journey together, but it appears that it will just be us for awhile. Still, I set up all of the tent, on the off chance they come by. I don't agree with their reckless actions, but who am I to deny them sanctuary for the night?" Ventus told her, before trudging over to the fire pit. Checking to see if their was a wood pile around, he was happy to spot one a little bit away from the pit. Going over their, he picked up several logs and went back to the pit, and arrange them into a small pyre. Ventus then pulled some flint and steel from his satchel, and a few seconds later had a nice fire going.

Apsis, still lurking around he general vincinty, saw her master start the fire, and slither a bit back, shy away from the flames. It dinstinctly remember being savaged by the flaming maw of the Growlith, and it did not want a repeat of that experience, nope!Noticing his Ekan's sudden timidness, Ventus let out a small chuckle, and motion it towards him. "There there, my Apsis. These flames won't hurt you as long as you respect them and stay back a bit. The flames are nice and warm, perfect for a reptile such as yourself," Ventus calmly said to her, waiting patiently.

Hearing her master's assurance, she hesitated for a second, before slowly making her way towards the fire. Upon getting there, she slithered to his side, and curled up into a loose ball and began to bask in the heat. With all the action today, she was tired, not helped by the fact that she did not have the time to fully digest her meal from earlier. With the heat from the fire and the calmness of the evening, though, she was finally able to relax, and soon full into a light sleep.

Smiling at his Ekans, turned to stare at the flames, silently contempalating what has transpired today, and started to make plans to rectify both his mistakes, and those blasted flowers...

Pierre shows you the basics of flute making. It uses a crafting Specialty and you need a minimum of 5 dice in your Knowledge-Survival-Crafting pool(but only one success), and of course you need lots and lots of ash - wood ash does not count.

Pierre indicates that this ashen area is just part of the splash zone, but the round pond Nathan noticed is the actual impact site.

"Okay, so we can make a very rare and very unique herbal medicine from these Deyo flowers, and flute making isn't too difficult as long as you have the know-how, the materials, and the skills. Not what I was hoping to learn, but I appreciate you taking the time to show us, Pierre. We'll keep the information in mind as we go on. I think I'll take enough of the Deyo to make a weak herbal medicine. Might come in handy in the future. You can have the rest since you're here specifically for them." Nathan takes some time to gather the necessary flowers and turn them into the bitter powder. Ralts is gladly helping Nathan pick the flowers, too.

When the powder is finished, Nathan makes sure he has everything, and gets ready to leave. He pulls out the pokedex once more. "Alright Vincent, I'm going to find out where those two set up camp for the night. I believe Shiva mentioned a clearing of some kind earlier, but I didn't catch where..." He types out a quick message to Shiva. "Done talking with Pierre the survivalist. Turns out those Deyo flowers can be used to make an herbal medicine that can temporarily increase the consumer's vitality. It's incredibly bitter though. Also learned how to make flutes from ash. No idea why Ralts seems to recognize the flowers though. They rarely grow aboveground, and usually only near an impact site for a meteor. Odd conditions. Need the location we'll be resting at tonight so the remaining three of us can get there. Larry still hasn't shown up, so we'll hang around a little longer in case he does."

Do either of those people have a Pokedex? Maybe they have at least a phone.

You're totally right.  I'd expect they would have phones though since they hail from Unova (all that tech in its cities, yo).  Nathan might be the only one without an actual phone since he grew up on a ranch.

"Your call, kid... Nathan." He corrects himself again. "Sorry. None of that crap among equals."

"I'm not sure I'm going to go look for the rest tonight... Hell. I don't think you should, but it's your call. Mostly 'cos I think Ventus has more parts loose than a Klinklang with a grease gun and in his current state, I don't want to think about what he's capable of, but someone's got to keep an eye out for Larry if or when he decides to pop up. 'Sides. My original plan was to go crash at one of the communal campsites when we set out anyway."

"Not my first night without a roof." He smiles, thinly.

"I'll likely wait here for a bit with Winston and Moran for Larry to show up. Figured it might be as good a time as any to work on our forms too. I've been feeling a bit off center of late. Can't risk getting sloppy around someone who's willing to threaten me with a large snake."

He digs around in his bag and produces a red bowl, then pops Moran's Pokeball.

"Give me a shout if you need anything. Phone's going to be on."

"You sure about that, Vincent?  I doubt Shiva would let Ventus keep us out of that tent.  And I don't know about you, but I don't want to spend the night out in the elements.  I've had enough of nature for today.  You'd be at the mercy of any wild pokemon that decided to walk up to you as well.  That tent's also more than big enough for everyone, and it's got plenty of personal space."

Nathan smirks slightly as he says this next part.  "Besides, I'm not overly worried about my safety if he decides to attack me.  All he has is a togepi and an ekans, and I've got Swiftfire and Ralts here to help me out at a moment's notice.  I doubt they'll just let it happen.  Ralts would also sense that kind of aggression from a mile away without any problems."  The pokemon are a little nervous about it, but they don't do or say anything to imply the opposite.

"I'll at least wait here with you until Shiva replies with the tent's location if you'd rather stay away.  With the wild pokemon the way they are right now though, I'd be careful if you decide to sleep outside tonight."

Staring into the flames, Ventus contempulated what went wrong. Besides the obvious, of course. 'They wouldn't listen me. Why? Have I not proven myself a reasonable men, at least to the point that when something causes me to panic, they would take head and listen to my warnings?' He continued to ponder the reason why, until lurkingly came to him in bits and pieces. Putting his hands on his head at the realization, he let out a long, long *Sigh*

'...Damn it all, they don't have my experience with this sort of thing. Most wouldn't know the fear, the pain magical things can bring. Of course they wouldn't listen to me; my warning must been like me spouting nonsense over flowers, when I was really afraid of was what they represent,' Ventus thought, grimancing at his own foolishness. Time was the essense, that was sure, but given the bond between Ralts and his desire to know more about its past, he should have outright told him why he was practically frothing at the mouth in fright.

Taking a deep breath, Ventus gathered his thoughts together and forced them to be still. Exahaling, he stuck a hand in his pockets, and pulled out his flip phone. Flicking it open, he dialed Vincent's number, waiting patiently to connect, before he began to calmly said, "...Hello, Vince. *Sigh* I...apologize for my brazen actions today, but for what trouble I caused, I did so with the best intensions. Ones that you are interested in, I take it, given he out of character I was being? If I have not completely burn my bridge with you, I'd be willing to explain why I acted in such a...demented way." Ventus gave him directions to were they were camping, and was about to hang up, when he stopped. "....It cowardous for me to say, but If you could, can you tell Nathan I'm sorry? I understand more than he thinks about his connection with Ralts, and I be more than happy to help...if he would let me." *Click*

Carefully following Ventus, glad that he let her join and did not, say, chase her away, Shiva reflected in her own mind what the hell has happened. It was all because of these strange flowers. She still didn't understand what was so bad about them in particular, or what Ventus meant that they're doing something to their Pokemon, and least why he reacted do strong and negatively about them. But, she as well realised that to him, they have an intense personal meaning. A totally bad one, but they still had.

She also understood that, while she knew this young man originating from the same region like her only for like two days, he had the best intentions. Indeed, he tried to protect them from...these flowers, whatever reason there was to do so, and she decided to listen to him. After all, she cared for him as he collapsed yesterday, and he opened up towards her by revealing his knowledge about Fairy-Types and how he holds sort of a phobia against the wild and unfamiliar Pokemon that belong to this type... She could not let him down. Not now. Actually, not ever.

Silence dwelled between the two, as they made their way to the mentioned camping side. Upon arrival, she helped him putting up the tent and fire as best as possible, carefully avoiding saying or doing anything that could distress and depress him even more.

As he was just there sitting beside the fireplace, Shiva took seat next to him. Feeling confident that he would let her do so. As he finished calling Vincent, she seemed to have gathered enough courage to finally speak to him. In a slow and understanding tone, still with some amount of sorrow in voice that could not be overheared... Somehow, she wanted to make clear that she was on and by his side. "Thank you..  For letting me join you. I can sense you're exhausted, physically and emotionally... Go to sleep. Please. We can take a look at the matter tomorrow, if you want, you can explain to me why you hold such a negativity for these flowers, but you absolutely don't have to. Not today, though. I'm fine with leaving this place far behind tomorrow and continue heading towards town. But lets call it a day, alright.. ?"

"And if the others happen to indeed arrive here, I will be there to welcome them. Gonna stay awake a little longer, so don't you worry about this point."
