Nathan hears his pokedex beep again, so he pauses the training for a moment to check it. "Ah, it's from Shiva. The campsite is a bit to the east of the main path...oh, and she sent Larry the same message, so we shouldn't have to wait for him here. Well then, what do you want to do, Vincent? I still intend to go spend the night in the tent when we finish here."

"Want to call it here, Larry?" She waves her Pokedex in your face. "It was a brave effort for little Oshawott. I'm glad you got a rare Pokemon from Mallorn."

"You think i'd quit at a close battle?" Larry says determined "this was just the warm up, now we shine the brightest." Larry looks at her pokedex and thought "I'll boost the prize since I'm not giving up" Larry then said "hey Rachel let's add something to your prize: if you win I'll add a modification to your dex if you win, but it takes a long time for me to do it so think, do you really want to win? I mean it is gonna take some time so I would just quit here cause I'll fix it win or lose."

[Super_trainer_Larry]

Larry saw the message and replied "I'll be there in a bit don't wait up for me" as Larry saw the sun set he told Rachel "hey you want to stay the night at our tent? Anyways its gonna get dark out soon."

[Iron]

"I'll stick to the original agreement for now, for I must be getting toward Trillium Town. But thank you for the offer. So kind!"

"Cool. Well, thanks for the battle!" She has you fix up her Pokedex - it isn't hard for you. Her attitude toward you is pretty cold until you have finished, whereupon she takes a (grayscale) selfie with you on her newly fixed Pokedex.

"I hope you get some more rare Pokemon soon. And if you ever develop a Pokedex app I'll be sure to download it. Peace. Tell your friends I said hey, and that I'll probably stomp them in a battle too someday!"

Pidgeys and Rattatas are still freely available to encounter. You may spend your encounter slot looking for berries too, but I will impose a penalty of 1 to the Survival check because of how fast you'd have to search around compared to your automatic daily.
As usual you may hold a training session instead.

Ralts is interested in the Deyo field still, and the crater. But he also has an interest in continuing on the journey. Ponyta is eager to see distant fields.

Winston is feeling good about how his day yesterday went. He hopes he gets to chase another cat. Moran sleeps in and eats a big meal when he finally wakes up.

Apsis seems pretty calm today. Togepi is a bit worried about his master and follows Ventus around very closely whenever he's out of his Pokeball.

Cottonee isn't sure about how much tension seems to be in the group, but seems happy for her master. There is a bit of wind today, so Cottonee watches the silhoutte of a lone Hoppip hiiiigh overhead. Cottonee is maybe a little glad it has a steady home.

Oshawott has recovered nicely after a long rest, since Constrict isn't too harsh of an attack. He's practicing with his scalchop on his own. Larry's Ekans comes out just long enough to eat breakfast, then goes back into the Pokeball. Abeja is crawling around in the dew exploring everything, confident his poison will protect him from Pidgey overhead.

Nathan wakes up the next morning, feeling a little sore from the previous night's training, but invigorated. Like he's able take on tougher challenges than before. Ralts and Swiftfire are much the same. (Nathan's Fight skill increases by 1 for 8 exp!)

He hadn't spoken with Ventus yet. By the time he'd gotten to the tent, the researcher had been fast asleep. Vincent had been adamant about his decision to sleep outside, so Nathan pulls out his pokedex once again to tell him he was fine. He finds it funny that he's been using the phone function so much, actually. Considering he grew up on a ranch and had no plans to travel initially, he didn't think he'd be using tech like that besides the PCs and pokemon center healing machines all that often. Yet here he was, using a phone function on a pokedex every few hours. He thinks about what he's going to say, and then types a message to Vincent. "Morning, Vincent. All's well so far. No surprise snake attacks last night. Going to head down to the crater pond in the meadow. I want to check that out since the Deyo flowers seem to be related to that. I can't shake the feeling there might be something important there...I'll tell ya about what I find there later." Seeing as he was the first one up again, he also types a quick message to Larry and Shiva, but not Ventus. "Morning. Headed down to pond in meadow. Feel like there might be something there, but not sure what. Will tell everyone when I'm done."

With the messages sent, Nathan informs his pokemon where they'll be going. "All right, you two, we're going to go down to the pond in that meadow. I want to see if there's something related to the Deyo flowers there." Ralts is excited to be going back to the meadow, even if there aren't very many Deyo Flowers left after the survivalist and Nathan picked most of them. Swiftfire...not as much. She didn't outright refuse, but she wasn't excited about going back to that location, particularly if they were going to be near a water source. "No complaints then? Alright, let's go. If you don't want to stay there, Swiftfire, I can put you in your pokeball until we leave the area, okay? I know the thought of being near water isn't exactly appealing to you." The fire horse snuffs gruffly in response. "Hahaha. I take it that means you'd rather stay out of your pokeball, then? Your call for now." With that established, Nathan walks off, with Ralts riding Swiftfire. The trio is nibbling on some snacks as they go, since Nathan wants to check the area out ASAP (and avoid talking with Ventus as long as he can).

Nathan is going to go to the crater, not knowing there's a Staryu in the waters left behind in the aftermath of that meteor strike. There might be some...interesting events as a result. He's also left before everyone else has woken up. You live on a ranch, you tend to get up really early rather consistently.

[Dies Irae]

Iron:
Staryu hunting sounds like a plan. Might as well round out the core elemental trinary. Back to the crater!

META: Huh. Looks like we're both independently heading back to the same point. If Nathan wants the Staryu, I'll bow out and go bait a pidgey or something.

Waking beneath an open sky isn't all that bad, all things considered. This time, at least it's by choice. Prodding the smoldering embers of the camp fire, he gingerly warms up a can of basculin in the embers, before pouring both the Paras and Growlithe measured portions in their respective food bowls. Clancey's gone at this point, likely wandered off to find another trainer to accost or a berry to pick.

He doesn't particularly mind the solitude. When you have this many voices knocking around your head, sometimes the silence is nice.

It takes a good half hour of eating in silence, just basking in the sunlight and sharing in the presence of his Pokemon companions before he feels ready for the road again.

Tapping around the Pokedex, he drops Nathan a message that he's going back to poke around the Deyo field a bit more.

Maybe get in some warm up training or go looking for a wild Pokemon or two.

On the way to the pond, Nathan's pokedex beeps...again. Swiftfire was NOT ready for that, and nearly bucks Ralts off in surprise! "WHOA, girl! Whoa! Stay calm, that was only my 'dex." After making sure Swiftfire isn't going to buck Ralts off or run away in a panic, and that Ralts is okay, Nathan checks the message he just received. 'Huh...so Vincent's gonna join me there, eh? Well, can't say I blame him. He wasn't too far away from the crater either, unlike our camp...' He types out a quick reply. "Alright, I'll meet you there then. Your message dang near scared the living daylights out of my horse though! She nearly bucked Ralts off!" Done with the message, Nathan just looks at Swiftfire and sighs. "What am I going to do with you...ah well, you'll get used to it, I'm sure..." Swiftfire snuffs at Nathan again in response. She wasn't enjoying the events of this morning so far. She wanted to go elsewhere, run around, have fun! Water was not fun. Startling noises? Not fun. "Don't be like that, girl. Come on, this won't take long. We'll go look at something for you to do after we finish with the crater, I promise. And you know I don't break a promise."

Swiftfire simply snuffs again.

'Yup, this is going to be a looooonnnng day...'
