[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Staryu Round 4

Pokeball seals: 2
Staryu's Will: 4, -1 pain
Pokeball
(3)(6)
vs
(2)(5)(5)

Another Pokeball destroyed.

Water Gun
Acc: 4 dice, -1 pain = 3 dice
(3)(4)(5) - two successes

Evasion:
(5)(1)(6)(5)

Ralts is MUCH too quick for that blast of water. He's moving like a monk, sidestepping just enough, swaying with the rhythm of the battle, ready to strike at command or to continue dodging until you run out of Pokeballs.

Walking over to watch, Vincent keeps a respectful distance to keep from disturbing the ongoing fight.

Making sure his surroundings are clear and that they're well away from the battling Pokemon, he pops the seals on his trio of Pokeballs, letting his companions out of their storage spheres.

"Sieg. This is Winston, my Growlithe. The Paras over there is Moran. Meet the team, such as it is."

Winston gives a bark of acknowledgement and trots over to sniff the newcomer. Behind him, there is a clatter as the Red Dish drops to the ground, the Paras pulling in it's limbs and disappearing under the bowl.

The Pidgey hops over and peers at the food dish quizzically. A muffled hiss escapes the bottom of the dish.

"No, Sieg. Moran's not edible. Don't even think about it." The pidgey gives him a disappointed look and takes flight, flapping around a bit before settling on his shoulder.

"One other important rule of housekeeping, Sieg. You take a crap on the jacket, you gonna get hurt real bad."

He settles back, leaning his back against a nearby tree, content to watch Nathan's fight.

Nathan's starting to get a little annoyed again. Not so annoyed that he can't think clearly, but he might get there if the wrong buttons are pushed. Determined to get this Staryu, Nathan decides to do something...maybe a little bit dangerous. "Ralts, get behind me and use Confusion on it again. I'll throw a pokeball at it after that and act as cover for you if another water gun comes this way."

Nathan
Action: Act as cover for Ralts and throw another pokeball.

Ralts
Order: Get behind Nathan and use Confusion.
Accuracy: 1 Fight + 3 Vitality + 0 Canalize
Damage: 2 Power + 2 Strength + 1 Stab
Effect: Confusion (1)

Cottonee keeps using Growth at random intervals, happily. You both enjoy the warmth. The breeze actually brings three more flights of Hoppip overhead in a short time, propelled by rapid breezes.

"They're so far away..."

Matter of fact, these Hoppip were far out of reach. No point in pursuiting them... Maybe she'll get a change to encounter them later...

... Later? Suddenly, she got up from laying and daydreaming there on the meadow, and looked pretty startled. No comparison to Cottonee though, who had absolutely no idea what's wrong.

"We need to go back to the campingside! Don't know how much time passed since we were here, but maybe some of the others have returned!"

Ah. Well, alright, if Master says so... Cottonee carefully followed as Shiva headed back to where she came from.

Staryu Round 5

Confusion

Nathan shivers as a wave of psychic energy passes through him. It's not aimed at him, of course, but it still feels really funny.

Acc: 3 dex + 1 fight = 4 dice
(6)(2)(4)(2) hit
Dmg: 5 -2 vitality = 3 dice
(3)(3)(5) Staryu takes 1 damage so he's now at a -2 pain penalization.

Pokeball
It's now a fair fight with 2 seals vs 2 Will dice.
Seals:
(6)(1)
Will:
(3)(3)

Staryu was caught!
The front button on the Pokeball shines out a beam of light at all times. You can keep the Pokeball on your belt facing inward to suppress the Illuminate ability, and let me know when Staryu is pointing outward to attract more wild encounters.

Vincent checks out the Long Grass and finds only a half-filled tunnel, only about a foot in diameter. Whatever Pokemon has made it has already escaped. But there are a few crumbs of hardtack around the entrance.

after Larry ate he got up and saw the temporary ball on his belt "oh my!" Larry said as he forgot about the mankey in the ball "ok mankey come on out." as Larry let the mankey out, Larry let oshawott out to "ok oshawott protect me if he attacks" Larry commands oshawott with a bit of fear. Larry then slowly got down on his knee and put his hand out with some leftover food in his hand from his brunch "here have some you sure did take a beating yesterday." as Larry stuck his hand out a little closer

Mankey takes the food, slaps Larry's hand, and gets Tackled by Oshawott (good idea having some protection).

(3)(3)(5)
(2)

Mankey makes his escape from Oshawott, and starts pelting toward the mountains. Luckily he is still within range to be recalled.

As the pokeball finally clicks shut, Nathan lets out a sigh of relief, glad neither he nor Ralts got any wetter. Except...now the pokeball was floating in the middle of the pond, just a little bit out of reach. And glowing. Really brightly. Nathan sighs again, but wades into the water to retrieve it. After he gets out, he lets Staryu out of the pokeball near the water.

As the starfish pokemon looks around, Nathan...feels kinda bad. He just did what he would rather have avoided doing. But...this Staryu also didn't look like it had any friends in that pond. He at least didn't see any bright lights in its not very deep depths. He sighs once more, and gets ready to inform the Staryu of its new situation. "Hello there, Staryu. Sorry if I caused you any confusion just now. Being on land probably isn't what you're used to. The name's Nathan. This little guy who you just battled is Ralts. It looked like you might have been a little lonely in that pond, so...well, we decided to bring you with us." Nathan's little speech might be straight to the point, but it's also incredibly awkward. He's almost trying to half apologize for capturing the Staryu without its full consent. "I, uh...was hoping you didn't mind that too much..." Nathan's train of thought derails there. Ralts can sense this, and walks up to the Staryu to say hi and cover for him.

Staryu isn't too upset. It seems you were right about involuntary solitude, and it's interested in moving onward.

It will take a happiness hit from getting beat on, though (same as the pain penalization you inflicted on it).
