Going after the other valuable item, and seeing what is up with that other *Shellder. While I'm not interest in catching for myself, it might be something that could be traded for a profit. Or could be good battle practice. I'm fine with either!

If it's a shiny or an overgrown one, you better catch it!  Each has value in and of itself!  Strange moves could be interesting too, I guess.  Just uh...be careful.  That Shellder might give you a good whooping in a battle since it's a moderate(?) challenge.  Just look at what happened to Swiftfire in what should have been an advantageous situation.  Though, if you have only 1 pokeball on hand, catching it in battle would also prove rather difficult...

If the shelder proves that difficult, there always 3 v 1 Assault. Apsis Glares it, Raphael uses Metronome, and Michael drains it dry with Absorb. My Pokémon might not get much XP for it, its a sure way to swiftly take it down.

One issue with that: it becomes rather difficult for trainers to properly give orders to that many pokemon according to the rule book (apparently the writers don't want to deal with triple battles).  There's a chance they might get confused about what to do due to the sheer number of orders you'd be giving each turn

Yes, and it's also illegal (because it's not safe). But if another party member has a spare encounter slot you could hail them over, or ask for help from the RV.

Illegal IRL (as in you don't want us mobbing encounters), or Illegal in game? While Ventus is a nice guy, its rather telling that he was willing to us Ekans on Nathan in the flower meadow just to subdue them. If he feels the need, and there is no impedus but himself to stop him...

Illegal according to the League. You are welcome to try it but the difficulties listed in the rulebook will apply.

Given Ventus is willing to use moves on Trainers... I don't see anything as trivial as "The Pokemon League Rules" stopping him from trying.

I'm just going to point out that miscommunication, with naturally disobedient 'Mons could end in tears.

Ouch. Just read that section...I might just sequentially add and subtract from the battle, instead of sending all out at once.

Also, I read that if a Player declares that they are only doing a single action for a round, they get two bonus accuracy dices. Is that how it works in your campaign too?

No, I wasn't sure why that rule would exist and I only noticed it last week. So it's nixed.

Ventus could be perfectly described as "Kind, generous, but rather unfettered at times." He's a sweet guy,  always try to help others with anything they need/want , and constantly worries about People's/Pokémon's problems. Problem is, if he feels it necessary, or the situation is extreme, he will hardly hesitate acting ruthlessly, lawlessly, or just plain cruel if it accomplishes one of his goals.

One of them is aiding his comrades in any task they need it (or not, if he think he can help them anyway and not get in too much trouble), and another is protecting them from any harm, including what he classifies as self harm. Yet another is garenteeing the safety and well being of his Pokémon at all cost. Given these goals, its suprising we have not seen more of this 'wild' side of his.

Then again, it was not until the Flowers Incident that such a nature became apparent. He did claim he had PTSD from...something, so that could have triggered him to act even harsher than usual (and with much less self restraint).

EDIT; @Iron Fair enough, I suppose. House rules are house rules, after all!

It likely exists because the character would be more focused on using their attack, thus being able to better hit the target.  It's definitely easier to do something if you aren't multi-tasking!

Though that's fine if you want to nix it I guess.  It can potentially make some stuff a little stupider later on, like having a Thunder with only -1 accuracy essentially.

The reason it sounds redundant to me is because you already get a -2 or more when using multiple actions. Why have the same thing cause a swing in the same direction from two different sources? It's weird.

But the real reason I want to nix it is because it's one more thing to remember ^_^
