Nathan is thrilled that he managed to get a CarnyCoin. He'd been planning to face the gym leader, so this was excellent, excellent news that he'd won one. "Thanks for the coin, the fun, and the tip. I'll keep that in mind. Alright, guys, let's go! We need to do some training!"

Nathan and his pokemon head back to the pokemon center's battle room. "Alright, we've been having a lot of fun today, but if we're going to be taking on the gym leader, we need to get a little stronger first. Let's practice some of that basic self defense Vincent taught us. Ralts, you know what to do. Swiftfire, you still have the basic idea, right? Staryu and Combee...hmmm...how can I describe this...I guess technically what we should all be doing is just practicing our basic offensive and defensive moves. The point being to try and make the motions more instinctive. I defend myself with my hands mostly, so I throw punches. Ralts does the same because he might become a Gallade one day, though he uses psychic power until that point. Swiftfire uses her legs. You two...I guess you use your basic attacks, such as strikes? Yeah, strikes are probably the best way to do it...Alright, everyone practice your striking, however you do that typically! Gotta refine the basics before we can move on to the more advanced! And we don't want to make a mess of this room in mere minutes, after all..."

While everyone is practicing the motions of their basic strikes, Ralts pauses in the middle of his training. He feels...foreboding emotions...they're incredibly potent, but where they're coming from, he can't tell. Natha pauses too, when he sees Ralts has stopped. "Ralts, what's wrong?" And then Nathan feels it too. "What the..." He staggers back as the emotion hits him with full force. "What's...going on? Why are you feeling THAT?" Ralts shrugs. "Well, keep training for now, I guess. We'll have to be a little more careful in the future, though, I guess...I don't like the feel of that...that foreboding is foreboding in and of itself..."

By the time they finish, it's starting to get dark outside. All 5 of them are tired from a long training session, and Ralts and Nathan are doubly exhausted from the worry caused by the foreboding emotions. "Guess we'll wait here in the lobby for the others to return. I kinda want to hear what they've been up to. Particularly Shiva. I hope that daycare job has been going well for her so far..."

(Oh fuck me, I broke the fortune teller! Yikes!!!)

Horrified to see the fortune teller nearly collapse on him, he rushes over to her side, and tries to shake her awake. "Madam, madam?! Are you ok! Please answer me! Oh nononononononono!!!" Ventus was already disturbed by what he heard, but seeing the Fortune Teller collapse on him sends him straight into panic. Struck in battle?A Granbull and Big Blue blocking his path? Slaying a Pokémon, an Empire of Pokémon, and Skull Ruins? All of those warnings, while vague, gave him a pretty good idea that his journey with the group was not going to be a dull one. At all.

What disturbed him most was when she spoke of the Eye. 'Her Horrid Gaze; It fill my entire life. That sounds like....no. I can't be? Morgan le Fay?! After 15 years, why would she come back to haunt me?! FUCK!' Ventus frantically thought, not at all with that revelation. He hopes that its a completely different person, and that he's drawing hasty conclusions, but given his own luck in life...
Even is his growing panic, however, Ventus stays by the Fortune Tellers side, trying to awaken her while waving people over for help! The needs of other always weight heavy on his shoulders...

"Uhhhhhhh. Ugh. I'll...I'll be OK...just the weight of that vision..."

She reaches under her booth and grabs a water bottle, and downs it.

"I think...I think I'll be alright, in a minute. Come by again if you'd like another reading. Just...just give me some time."

Everyone around is impressed, and a line forms to get fortunes told.

Okay, so battle Zamboni first, THEN redeem the CarnyCoin.  Got it.  How do we go about challenging Zamboni, then?  I guess he has a simple arena set up already?

And while we're on the topic of the festival, did clearing the hive out open up any new festival events (once it's been fully relocated, that is)?

In the morning, the Combee have mostly cleared away, but some still come through to steal cotton candy or Spade's flowers.

Zamboni can be seen wandering the festival, enjoying his spare time. Occasionally, Delibird hands out presents - some good, some bad. He also accepts a few challenges throughout the day, or the trainers in his gym do.


Shiva may have more conversations that occur on Day 5. Miltank is ready for delivery for sure, and Talonflame is ready to be picked up.

"I'm...I'm sorry you had to see my future, wise woman. I have always know my life to be fraught with misfortune, but I never expected it to causes such backlash to you! Please, forgive me for the harm I caused. I..must go now. May Reshirem guide you to the Truth." After a harrided apology, he quickly fled back from the Fortune Teller's presence and went straight to the Center. He didn't notice that he left Shiva behind in his panic, but as soon as it came to his mind as he passed through the front doors to lobby. her swore to himself : "Reshirem Damn It! I left Shiva behind! She must be worried sick about me! Calm down, calm down. She saw you run to the Pokémon Center. She'll be fine...hopefully."

A quick scan of the room had him spot Nathan, and he quickly rushed over to sit down by him. The expression on his face...it was unlike anything the boy had ever seen. Was it...fear? "Nathan...I...I don't know how to say this, but I believe my life- OUR lives are about to get a whole lot more strange." He quickly described the fortune he was given by the wiseman, taking careful pains to describe what she termed "The Eye." He looked a bit frantic, shaking and jittering in place, and his Pokémon looked very concerned for his wellbeing. Raphael was chirping worriedly, trying to get his attention so that they could cheer him up. Michael look a bit harried himself, as the Ventus's flight to the Pokémon Center forced him to cling to the researcher's shoulder with all his strength. Oh, what to do now?

"Wait, was that sense of foreboding we felt earlier coming from YOU?!  Oh, gosh darn it...and yes, we felt it from all the way across town.  It was THAT strong.  This is...worrying...and that's putting it mildly...there's little reason to doubt her, too, since she has a Gothorita and a Gothitelle..."  

Nathan mulls it over, the worry clear on his face.  He shakes his head.

"It'll be fine, I'm sure.  Nothing we can do about it right now, anyways.  If we're too paranoid about it, it'll probably become a self fulfilling prophecy.  Ven, there's no point in stressing about it right now.  We'll handle that stuff when it happens, okay?"  Ventus had thrown the nickname card at him earlier after comforting him, so Nathan would do the same.  It wasn't as...extreme, but Nathan figured it would help the oddly dressed researcher calm down a bit.

"You are...right. Its just, if its what she says is what I think it is...its I don't go into detail. You shouldn't have to know the horrors of fell magics, like I do. They can do all sorts of nasty things, similar to the wizard we fought in the swamp, but much worse," Ventus said, finally calming down to the point he was not vibrating in place. Even though he was still a bit frightened, Nathan's comforting words soothe the worst of it away. Now noticing his Pokémon worry, he briefly tends to them, petting and consul them he that he was fine now, before returning them.

Turning his attension towards the young trainer once more, he give him a small smile, showing them that he alright now. "Thank you, Nathan. Its nice to have a friends that I can seek counsel from, whether to share good tiding or ill omens. Though, I'm sorry you had to experience that awful foreboding I did. Forgive me for burdening you and Ralts with that...unpleasant feeling," he says, before standing up and walking to his room. After the most emotional day, some actual rest would be a nice restorative for his mind. Before he left Nathan sight, however, he turned his head towards and gave him their most brilliant smile possible. Now that his panic has past, he wanted to assure the boy that he was alright. 'He called me Ven. Despite our trouble, maybe we can be great friends yet,' thought to himself, still smiling as he enter his room and went to sleep.

=The Next Morning=

After his usual morning routine of showering, dressing, and breakfeast, Ventus boldy entered the festival once more, hoping to see new sights and attractions. Seeing that Zamboni's Delibird was handing out gift, the researcher curiosity got the best of him, so he went over to the festive bird. "Greeting, Delibird! I noticed you were giving out present to people, so might I humbly ask one as well? If desire compensation, I have a Ranc Berry I can give you."

Pokemon Eggs are not true eggs, so they don't work for baking or eating. I'm not sure even an Ekans would go for it. Creshire uses substitutes like flaxseed to bake!

"Here's where we keep the eggs. It's just a giant incubator!"

She leads you to a room with multi-level incubators, glass rooms spread with sawdust and warmed by many lights.

"And here's our pride and joy. A little Magby that hatched unexpectedly, who likes to sleep in the incubators with the eggs! Oh, and we have a Camerupt, too, but he's busy giving rides at the festival. He comes back here at night. That's his stall over there. Eggs need to be with other Pokemon to hatch. Each of these incubators has a little cat door where the parents can visit, if they're staying with us. That makes baby Pokemon happy. But an interesting fact is that Pokemon eggs hatch faster when they travel with battle-ready trainers. Why could that be??"

"Oh! This egg! That's what I was trying to think of!!" She lifts a black and white spotted egg from the incubator.

"A cop, or ex-cop, or something....anyway, he sent this via PC just before you got here. I think you would be the perfect person to carry this! We don't know what species it is. Let us know when you find out! He also wrote a note on it in Sharpie (tsk tsk) saying you should let Professor Quickbeam, at Telperion University, know all about your findings! Will you take it?"

She shows you their collection of portable incubators, which you can borrow. Although some people like to just carry the eggs around - they are quite tough.
