When Shiva arrives, Ralts looks surprised, then....smug. It is an interesting expression to see on the young Pokemon's face. He gives Shiva a hug around the leg. Then he gives one to Nathan too when Nathan opens his mouth to talk to Shiva.

Nathan's not really sure what to make of this.  But, if Ralts trusts her enough to do that...

What he says next is directed at both Shiva and Ventus, a hint of nervousness still in the tone of his voice. "Well...I'll be...around...if you need me for anything, that is.  I'll be doing some training at the Center, and then be over at the trainer battle board.  See what matchups I can find for Staryu and Porygon.  If you don't need me for anything, I'll meet you guys back here when I'm done.  Ventus, make sure you save those berries for the gym leader, and get some training of some kind done in the meantime."

He seems to be more open to the idea of conversing with Shiva now, but the hint is subtle.  He's still not fully comfortable with triggering the conversation himself yet.  If nobody has anything else to say to him currently, he walks off to go do that planned training, exchanging his CarnyCoins for a Water Stone on the way to the Center.

For the training session, he uses the Center's battle room.  He sets up a couple (surprisingly sturdy) practice dummies, and gives all of his pokemon the order to practice their various damaging STAB attacks.  Ralts gets a slightly different order, though..."Ralts, I need to thank you. You've been really, really kind lately, even when I haven't been.  And you've been doing great in battle, as well.  Thank you for your support.  I don't know what I'd do without it."  He hugs the little pokemon, and Ralts hugs him back.  While still in the hug, Nathan says the next part.  "I think it's time you learned a new move, but it's going to be a difficult one, considering my battle style."  He breaks the hug.  "Draining Kiss.  It's the only fairy move you're likely to have for awhile, but its crafty nature is a little at odds with the very up front attacks we've been using so far.  Think you're up for practicing it on that practice dummy, though?"  Ralts nods, and attempts to use Draining Kiss on the dummy for his training. Learning the move is easy with Nathan's help in telling the little pokemon how the move works. Using it is a little harder.

For the battle, Nathan will put up $200 prize money, looking for some decent double battle training for Staryu and Porygon, who are still relatively new to trainer battles.

Shiva is free to approach Nathan after either of these encounters if she picked up on his willingness to talk and reluctance to start the conversation himself.

Larry gets the pearl and told Rachel "what people doubt of me is what helps me thrive." and Larry gives it to her "now what next?" Larry asked Rachel as he grabs ekans and holds him while petting him (yes Larry will try and get this snake to like him) Larry returns oshawott and weedle to their balls and Larry gets nicada to follow him after they find out what their gonna do next

"I'm off for a round of Shuckleball. Gotta earn that CarnyCoin. Do you know which pits grant CarnyCoins?"

"no im not sure what does" Larry said as he was stumped "well im gonna come and cheer you on while you do it since I got nothing to do right now" Larry said

Rachel orders a Gust attack from Rufflet, and Shuckle sails into a narrow pit, first try. She wins a CarnyCoin and some Pokeballs. "Perfect for catching whatever rare Pokemon I come across! Larry, do you know what Pokemon Zamboni has?"

Nathan is challenged by Miller, who sends out Misdreavus and Durant.

Rachel orders a Gust attack from Rufflet, and Shuckle sails into a narrow pit, first try. She wins a CarnyCoin and some Pokeballs. "Perfect for catching whatever rare Pokemon I come across! Larry, do you know what Pokemon Zamboni has?"

"uh.... he has a dewdong that's all I know but he uses ice types so bring gloves and a scarf, oh and don't fall on the ice." Larry said as he went to the (place Zamboni is at) and sat down in a chair and grabbed his pokeballs and let his pokemon out "ok guys lets cheer Rachel on!" Larry said as he grabbed his frying pan and started yelling "lets go Rachel lets go" followed by two bangs from his frying hitting the floor. Larrys pokemon didn't catch on until about the 3rd time Larry did it and they started cheering the same way

(Funny thing that I was secretly hoping for such a 'bigger' opponent like Lapras. Also Congrats to 1000 posts, Iron!)


A little...ambushed at first about the sudden offer... But, giving it a thought for a moment, the opportunity was surely tempting...

"Oh, sure I'll...accept... Two against such a big Pokemon like Lapras sounds alright. Especially since...my Pokemon are actually rather small in size, compared..."

Meanwhile, Cottonee seemed rather eager about another battle! High at spirits by the victory agains the weirdly colored Seels - Shiva could not help but to admire them a little - ,the lilttle fluffball was practically itching to prove his power another time. Master did say she does not have to prove anything to her, but making a little of an impression nevertheless wouldn't hurt! (Well, hopefully not...)

Before the battle was opened however, Shiva turned directly to her Abra, croaching down to be on eye level with the Psychic Pokemon. ""Helios... Look at me. ... You're awake? Good. You know, you did great in the previous battle. You did not get hurt at all, and the opponent was practically no threat to you. Thank you. However... No, don't look away! Focus on me, please! As your Master, I'll be responsible for you and your actions. Therefor, behave well, listen to my voice and commands, and you'll be treated and rewarded in a proper way. I won't ask you for anything you may not capable of, nor force you to something. Keep in mind that in whatever way you behave, I'll react in a way that's appropiate to your choice." Her voice wasn't very...comanding, still had the soft tone. But there was a firm undertone lingering, clearly showing that she meant her words. "In case you're cold by now, have this." She carefully wrapped the red tartan scarf she still has carefully around the Abra's neck, before standing up, ready to accept the  challenge. It may look...weird for her person, but she herself has choosen to seek another Trainer's Challenge, and she was granted with this challenge.


"Alright then, dear Cottonee. This time, take care! You'll see that this opponent may be a little tougher, but I trust in your powers! Boost up." ... "Helios, you know the plan as well. For now, evade! Approach the oponent carefully, but give him no chance to hit you!"

Orders for this round: Cottonee's Growth, Helios the Abra evades.
Effect: Raises Strenght by 1 point.
Secondary Effect: More fluff? 
Pain Penalization: 0 so far, on both of my Pokemon.
Accuracy Roll Gowth: 1 Strenght + 1 Survival +0 Nature since we're on icy terrain = 2 D6dice
Evasion Roll Abra: 2 Dexterity + 1 Fight + 0 Evasion = 3 D6 dice

Rachel has her gym battle a few hours after Ventus'. She uses a Dedenne to defeat Sealeo ("Ah, a 'Dewgong'") and a Riolu to fight Glaceon. He comes close to fainting and she has to recall him, but Glaceon only has a few hit points left at this point. Lileep is able to finish the job, and makes short work of Swinub.

She accepts her Glass Badge with good grace, and thanks Larry for cheering her! "Who knew frying pans made such good cheering equipment?" She's up for a friendly hug but doesn't linger in it too long.

"Alright! I must be off. I'm heading west to the capitals. Seeya Larry! Maybe you'll have a badge too next time I see you?"
