[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(Quick note, Plusle and Minun are out of their balls of course. They are not known as 'Cheering Pokemon' for nothing! Whether they get any XP or not, is your call, Iron. Shiva herself is more of a calm and reserved type, but quite watchful for the battlers strategy.)

If I have been keeping track, they would have earned at least 3 XP for their effort (Two for cheering on Nathan to victory, and 1 for cheering on Ventus to his defeat...), and maybe 1 or 2 more if I missed a cheerleading event for them.

(Nope, they earned no XP during your first battle, only during Nathan's.)

Not all cheerleading events give XP, but I felt that first one was particularly epic.

Zamboni Redux Round 4

Ice Shard
Acc: 8 dice, -2 multiple
(4)(4)(5)(4)(3)(1) Hit
Dmg: 3 Str + 2 power +1 stab -2 vit = 4 dice
(2)(3)(5)(2) Ekans takes 1 damage. 7/8.

Leer
(1)(4)(5)(6)
Glaceon loses 1 defense

Ice Shard I'm not entirely sure how double priority works. But i'm doing it like this for now.
Acc: 8 dice, -3 multiple = 5 dice
(1)(3)(5)(5)(4)
(3)(5)(2)(4) Ekans takes 2 damage. 5/8 -1 pain

Zamboni Redux Round 5

Glaceon launches another burst of speedy ice, skating smoothly on the rink. As it reaches, Apsis begins to glow with purple light.

The sense of WRONGNESS, of suffering and decay, emanating from the light is sickening to Glaceon, who flinches back. Those in the stands can feel it too, radiating out from where Ekans lay coiled.

Ice Shard
(3)(2)(6)(4)(3)(1)
(3)(2)(6)(2) Apsis takes 1 damage. 4/8 -2 pain.

The light clears, and the pain fades as quickly as it comes. A monstrous Arbok rears where Ekans was, flexing its hood to reveal giant glowing eyes. Fae beware!

"Hisssssssssss...." Glaceon looks like dinner. Even Zamboni gets nervous.

Powerful jaws leap forward to sweep up Glaceon.

Bite 9/13hp -1pain
Acc: 4dice -1pain = 3 dice
(4)(2)(1)
Dmg: 4 dice, -3 vit, +1 leer = 2 dice
(5)(4) Glaceon takes 2 damage. 4/6 -1

"I hope you can control that thing, Ventus. Otherwise, you know full well it's not welcome in my gym. We'll find out!"

Glaceon tentatively fires another Ice Shard.

Ice Shard
(5)(2)(6)(6)
(1)(1)(6)(1) Too tentative!

Zamboni Redux Round 6
Manual control given to Ventus.

Glaceon is leered and at 4/6. Snek has 9/13.

Nathan's eyes all but pop out of his head when Aspis evolves! "Oh my...that could be great, or that could be terrible...I really hope he's built up enough trust and companionship with that snake for it to obey him in this battle..." Ralts looks awestruck and terrified at the same time!

Music: Skeleton Graveyard

Like the regal queen that she was, there was Apsis, now a mighty Arbok. It practically loomed over the battlefield now, its presence sickening to even those with the strongest constitution. Yet there Ventus stood, drinking in the noxious atmosphere with a deep breath, before letting it out. "Ah...so this was the tension I felt from you. You have achieved your true power! Remember no to get intoxicated by it and forget your discipline, though! Now, let us strike, while the iron is hot! Use Fire Fang, Apsis!" Ventus called out to her, feeling the strength and confidence spouting forth from her! Rearing its head up, it let out what sound like a boiler going haywire. *HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSS* It will get revenge for the punny fox for wounding it so!

In a burst of speed, it began to rush down the Glaceon, malicious intent radiating from it!

Order: Have the Regal Apsis use Fire Fang on Glaceon until it reaches -2 Pain Penalization, then have it come for a Potion. Command it hold back from Lethally wounding Glaceon if it decides to be a little more than vindictive, and immedianlty recall it if it refuse to comply!

Moves:

Fire Fang
Accuracy Pool: Pool 4
DEX (2) + Fight (2) + Brawl (1) - Accuracy (1)
Damage: STR + 2 + Super Effective Damage (1)
Effect: *Flinch 2* *Burn [1] 2*

Remember your potion will only heal 2hp right now, because you've already used a Potion today on Ekans.

Zamboni Redux Round 6

Ice Shard
(3)(2)(5)(1)(5)
(4)(2)(6)(2) Aspis takes 2 damage. 7/13

Fire Fang
Accuracy: 2 Dex 2 Fight 1 Brawl = 5 dice, -1 move accuracy, -1 pain = 3 dice
Dmg: 2 Str + 2 power -2 vit after leer = 2d6+1
(2)(5) Glaceon takes 2 damage. 2/6 -2
flinch: (4)(2)
burn: (3)(3)

Ice Shard
Acc: 3 with increased pain
(3)(2)(2)

Zamboni Redux Round 7

"This may be your last chance, Glaceon! Take utter care, now!"

Ice Shard
(2)(2)(6)(3)
(4)(1)(6)(2) Ekans takes 2 damage, which is then healed by a Potion. 7/13 Still enough to drive away the pain!

Fire Fang
(4)(1)(2) 1 success.
Evasion:
3 Dex + 3 Fight +1 evade -2 pain -3 multiple actions = 2 dice
(3)(2) Fail.
(2)(3) Glaceon takes 1 damage.
Flinch: (5)(1)
Burn: (4)(1)

Glaceon goes down, but will Arbok and Ventus be kicked out of the gym?

Zamboni moves to withdraw his Pokemon.

Arbok has 2 Loyalty and 3 Disobedience. It evolved before the bond with its trainer was fully formed. She is happy, but her trainer has also let her eat Pokemon before.

I'll let it come down to a Loyalty roll vs a Disobedience roll!!!

Loyalty:
(5)(6) Apsis drools over Glaceon, but begins to move away.

Disobedience:
(6)(1)(3)

Apsis is ready for more battling as Zamboni sends out Snorunt! Who has woken up by this point, accruing 5 successes at Insight checks.

"Apsis, that is enough for now. Save your strength for future fights, my sister," Ventus says, recalling his newly evolved Arbok before it could get into anymore trouble. With a flick of his wrist, Raphael is back on the stage again, this time managing to jog in place on the ice as was summoned. Seeing its Christmas tree was back out again, they decided to do a little dance for them in an attempt to Charm them!

Order: Have Raphael use Charm until it hits, then start using Metronome. Let's see what this little angel can do!

Zamboni Redux Round 8

Snorunt is at 4/7hp.

Charm
(5)(1)(1)(4) It's so cuuute!
-2 attack for Snorunt

"You know the plan. Stop Togepi from hitting if you can! Follow that up with a freeze!"

Icy Wind
Acc: 8 dice, -1 pain, -2 actions = 5 dice
(5)(3)(5)(2)(3) hit
Dmg: 3 Str + 2 dice +1 stab -2 defense -2 charm = 2 dice
(1)(5) Togepi takes 1 damage.
Togepi loses 1 dex.

Powder Snow
1 dice less
(4)(4)(5)(4)
(5)(6) Togepi takes 2 damage. 2/5hp, -2 pain.

Zamboni Redux Round 9

Metronome
Power: (5) Metronome became Petal Dance. Togepi enjoys this dance and commits to it for 3 moves! After all, his previous charming dance worked quite well. It's a high power move!
(2)(5) Hit
Snorunt doesn't recognize Petal Dance. No trainer has ever dared bring a Grass-type before it.
Dmg: 2 str + 5 power -3vit = 4 dice. Today I learned that Ice doesn't resist Grass.
(4)(2)(6)(4) Snorunt takes 3 damage. Leaving 1hp.

Zamboni recalls Snorunt. "Sorry, Snorunt. You were best suited to a battle against the snake, anyway, with your Inner Focus."

Zamboni Redux Round 10
Togepi will continue to Petal Dance for 2 more moves unless recalled.

It's Swinub time.

'He can do this. He's still got 3 pokemon, technically. And two rounds of super effective attacks from Togepi if he doesn't take a hit. Or he could switch and cancel the effect to get off one last charm.' Nathan stands up, excited! "Come on, Ven! You're in the home stretch now!" Plusle and Minun join in, much happier with this situation than the one Ventus had been in previously!
