[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

Most likely because we three have been hogging the spotlight since we entered Ginger Town, besides a couple of instances. Once we leave to, it'll be easier for you to find encounter for your character to engage themselves in...

'Once we leave town' reminds me on somethng: I think it would be handy if we'd elaborate the meeting up in the Pokemon Center next morning a little more this time, together with Larry and Valder. After all, we haven't dicussed in-game yet what to do and where to go next as far as I know, have we?

No, we have not.  Nathan will make sure we figure this out before we leave the Center, though.

Lore and Science Rolls are something you can ask for any time if you want to know something that's not as commonly known about the world. A few select moves also use Science in their accuracy.

You could use a Science roll to build a technology related to the science. Engineering could help you disassemble a Pokeball or repair a broken one. Breeding science could help you breed faster better stronger. Lore would be great for finding just the right information you seek at the University or something.

These are "soft skills" that are indispensable on the rare occasions they come up, but that a character can often find a use for if she looks for them specifically.

Let's see, what can I use as a rule for Move Tutoring.
First off, you must have at least 1 point in it to use these rules.
The Tutor must spend time doing Training Sessions (no more than 1 per day) with the Pokemon in question until enough successes have been accumulated.
Only one Pokemon at a time per Tutor per day.
Having a Pokemon with the move, helping, adds 1 success to every roll.
You must be familiar with the move you are tutoring somehow. Maybe you have a book about it, or a copy of the TM that you are loathe to use, or you've seen it used a few times.
The roll is Insight + Knowledge + Move Tutoring.
A status move (deals no damage) requires 10 successes. A damaging move requires 12 successes. For Shiva, that's an average of 3 training sessions.
These training sessions do not grant XP, just access to the move.
You need Iron's permission first. It's likely to be granted for moves with a cost of "?", unless I have plans for making that move rarer.

Mind if I have a training session in the 'morning' of the next day for Ancient Power on Togepi, Iron? That way it doesn't interfere with my plans to time Apsis, Godzilla's younger sister!

Larry with a happy tune and a jump in his step walked in to the room that everyone was in "ah what a nice day isn't it I mean hugging Rachel was the highlight of my day and NOTHING can get better than that." Larry said with butterflies in his stomach "wait a minute. VETUS HAS AN ARBOK!" Larry screams as he runs and hides behind Shiva "its to big and scary for me" Larry said as he was shivering in fear of the giant snake "I like snakes but that's too big for me, I like smaller pokemon not pokemon the size of Godzilla!"

You'd have to be looking VERY hard to find us. We were in the back room of the Center in a private discussion, and wouldn't have liked being interrupted. Larry wouldn't have even seen the arbok since she's in her pokeball right now.

Also, Arbok are big, but they're not THAT big. If you react like that to a large cobra, then how would you react to something like, say...a Tyranitar? Or a Salamence? Or a Gyarados? Onix or Steelix? Angry Wailord? Groudon? There's far bigger pokemon than a simple snake.

And on the matter of battling Nathan...uh, good luck with that. He would likely just dismiss Larry's challenge, simply saying Larry's not quite ready for that yet. It'd be way too weighted in Nathan's favor just based on what he's seen of Larry's team and training.

I could always have her pop out if everyone else agree to it.... She might as well say high to Larry, you know?

Sure, no training roll yet so it's just 1XP.

If anything, that might serve as a good warning for Larry about what his snake will become.  Not a fully accurate warning, since his might be more disobedient, but a warning nonetheless.

And Larry's snake is probably going to get much the same treatment as Aspis from Nathan, just as a precaution.  One rogue snake in the party is bad enough as it is.
