Jeff Round 3

Leer
Accuracy: 2 Dex + 1 Fight -2 multiple actions
(6)
Nidorina's defense -1

Double Kick
This is a successive action, so it's like 2 actions in a row.
Acc: 2 Dex + 2 Fight + 1 Brawl -2/3 actions = 3 dice, 2 dice
First attack: (5)(1)(5)
Second: (6)(1)
Dmg: 2 Str + 2 power -2 vit = 2 dice, +2 super effective
(3)(1) 2 damage
(5)(3) 3 damage
Pawniard takes 5 damage and faints. Nidorina growls proudly.

Continue with Gastly?

"...aye. Sorry, Theo. There's always a 'next time'. Okay, Ghastly! Lets see if you can do this!"

Order: Just spam Lick. On the first turn, use it two times.
dmg: 1 + 3 + 1 + 1 = 6
acc: 2 + 1 + 0 = 3
secondary effect: roll 3 chance-dice to paralyze the target

Valder, as Nathan explained, you don't want to be going to 2 actions yet. You technically can't, in fact, because the -3 penalty would remove you to 0 dice, and the Luck Dice is only for things like status conditions and pain penalizations. So you need to level up your Dexterity, or Fight, or Brawl first.

Here's what I calculate for damage: 3 Str, +1 move power, +1 STAB - where's that extra +1 come from?

Jeff Round 4

Lick
Accuracy: 3 dice
(6)(2)(6) Hit
Dmg: 5 dice, -1 vitality after Leer = 4 dice
(4)(6)(3)(2) Nidorina takes 2 damage 4/6hp, -1 pain.

Nidorina is in a bind, because most of her moves don't affect Gastly and she doesn't know Bite yet.

Poison Sting
Accuracy: 5 dice -1 pain = 4 dice
(3)(5)(3)
Dmg: 2 Str + 2 power +1 stab -2 vit = 3 dice, -1 not very effective
(4)(2)(5) -1 Gastly takes 1 damage

Jeff Round 5

Lick
(4)(1)(4) Hit
(5)(1)(5)(1) Nidorina takes 2 more damage. 2/6 hp left. -2 pain.

"Alright, I concede. Your Pokemon sure are strong! That's awesome!"

Gastly gets 7xp. Valder gets 3Xp and $100!

Ventus was beginning to feel like scratching his head in befuddlement. Usually he would not have a difficult to ascertaining what a person source of distress is, but this little one was so sad that it was hard to pick out the details. 'Oh dear... if I didn't know better, I'd say this Azurill is suicidally depressed, given the vast quantities of despair emanating from it. Well, let's try to review what I do know about its situation, and perhaps I will stubbled upon a way to cheer them back up. Hmm....' the researcher though, as he began to ponder over this curious blue mourse

First, they appear to have a very strong emotional attatchment to that hat of there, so much so that they are willing to drown in it, as it were. Additionaly, the top hat point towards some performance career on there part, or theatric at the very least. Then, there the fact that some of its negatively is turned in on itself, a rarity I haven't seen since Garv in our therapy sessons. 'If something isn't done soon to fix this little one's attitude, I fear the worst for its continued health! Maybe Shiva will help cheer the mouse up, when she's informed of their situation,' Ventus though, which lead to his next piece of info he knew. Namely, the Azurill currently does not have a trainer, as they were either abandoned or have been separated from their master in some way, shape, or form. Finally, althought its sill very miserable, its still have enough determination to see whatever goal it has to the very end.

Over all, this was a very peculiar Pokémon, more Puzzle than any fighter. Gathering his knowledge one last time, he decided to take another guess at what was making them sad "...Little one, are you perhaps unhappy about your current form because it doesn't fufill whatever task you set you sights on? Please tell me if this is the case, as I know a friend that would be more than happy to help you achieve your evolution! As for that top hat little one...what does it mean to you? Is it important because of sentimental reasons, or to a task you want to complete?"

Azurill's hopes rise momentarily when you mention evolution and unhappiness with its current form. For your top hat question, it seems like it's related to the task it wants to complete.

Nathan waves at Fletchinder as it circles overhead. "You're welcome!" He doesn't really need to say much else. He doesn't really want to chase after it to try and add it to his growing number of pokemon. If Fletchinder wanted to join of its own accord, that'd be a different matter. But, you know how the saying goes: free as a bird. And freedom seems to be something Fletchinder is getting the most out of currently.

Nathan walks downstream to collect Staryu. "Great job, Staryu! That was excellent marksmanship you displayed! I think you might enjoy learning the next move I have in mind for you."

He then turns to Ralts. "You did a great job too, buddy. You seemed a little...distracted, though. Worried about Azurill?"

Ralts nods in response, but it's not the whole story. "Well, let's head back then and see if Ventus found out something we didn't. I hope Aspis hasn't made the process too difficult for him..."

Nathan returns to where Ventus and Shiva are. "So, find out anything, Ventus?"

Ralts was worried about Azurill, true, but you can tell something else is going on with him. It's not Arbok, either - his confidence in that regard is growing.

(I'm still there as well! ._. Waiting for Ventus' reply to my question what's with the top hat. Or maybe the Azurill reacts on its own to me.)

Clapping his hands together in glee, Ventus give the little one a small smile. "So that is what is bothering you, little one! Well, I'm a Pokémon Reseacher, and I know just how to make you evolve! Essentially, all you have to do is be happy! So happy that it triggers the latent energy lying dormant within you, bringing forth your inner power and transforming you into a Marill! Of course, if you never cheer up, it will be impossible for evolution to occur, so just start thinking positively! If you can't...well, there are artificial means to raise a Pokémon's happiness, but they usually in the form of drugs that are highly dangerous for the user. I don't want to seek out those types of things, so let's work on cheering you up!" the researcher declared, much happier now that he has an idea on what to do for the little one.

When Nathan rejoin him - he didn't even notice they had left!- Ventus caught him up on to all the little details he found out. Hopefully, the young trainer can help him find a way to cheer the little blue mouse up!

Of course, while he sympathized with the Azurill's plight, he didn't exactly want it in his party. 'I already have two Pokémon with weakness to Poison, although Shroomish is partially immune to its worst effects. Maybe Shiva would like a new addition to her party?' Just as he thought of this, the lass walk right up to him, and asked about the top hat in his hand. Quirking an eyebrow at his friend, he noticed that the mouse had retreated inside of it, afraid of the new stranger approaching them. "Now now, Azurill, its all right. Shiva is my friend, and so loves Fairy types of all background! How about you introduce yourself to her?" Ventus said, gently drumming his finger on the bill of the hat. Slowly, the little blue mouse rouse out of the hat, squeaking slightly at the sight of the female trainer.

Smiling at his friend, the researcher introduced the two of them. "Shiva, this is Azurill. Me and Nathan spotted them floating down the river, were he rescued the guy and put him in my care. They are awfully depress about being an Azurill for some reason, so perhaps you could help with that? I don't believe I have the right touch for helping out this blue mouse, but I do know you are fond of Fairy types, so what do you say?" With that, he handed the mousey tophat to her, and proceed to get out of Apsis grasp. Fortunately, she wasn't tightly gripping him while slumbering, so he managed to slip out with ease, where he then recalled the giant Arbok to its Pokeball. It was starting to get a bit late, so perhaps it was time to set up camp and call it a night?

(I assume Shiva will take the Azurill and add it to her growing party, but feel free to interject Iron! Also, since 2 Encounter has already gone by today, does that mean this day is almost over? If it is, Ventus needs to start setting up camp!)

You still have another 4-6 hours of daylight, which could be used for walking or for one more encounter slot.

No changes in the current encounters, except that Jeff is out of Pokemon.

Azurill is interested in traveling with another Fairy type. As it's still Normal/Fairy type, it's not afraid of Grass types at all.

It peers curiously over the hat at Shiva, looking despondently sad. Ultimately, it will go wherever the top hat goes.

If Azurill is put in a Pokeball, the black top hat comes along too!

When Shiva accepts the hat, Azurill runs up her sleeves and hides there for a bit before returning to the hat. You decide this is probably a sign that it likes you.
