Let's say she can't remember you mentioned that lisence, she'll likely trip over the fact that such a lisence exists in Chreshire either by accident or if it gets mentioned somewhere involved in plot. On one hand, I think I did well in diplomacy given the situation, but on the other hand, I believe that Honey Coated Poffinshould have granted me a bonus, since Bug types love it so much, but thems the breaks. I also think that Scyther attacking outright without the ecounter beginning 'properly' is a tad bit on the cheap side there, @Iron.

If Scyther is going to get a surprise attack, you at least have to roll whether or not I sense it and have time to get out of the way! (Pg 367, 'Ambush' tactic. I tried to do it earlier to Poliwag waaay back in the beginning, but it was able to detect my intentions and react.)

Scyther are highly aggressive and extremely stealthy pokemon.  I figured it would try and ambush us, particularly since it has a disobedience score of 3.

Though I would have also liked to know if it had succeeded on an ambush check or not, as well...

Considering Ventus is on 2 HP, Nathan's going to do his darndest to make sure they get out of this okay!  As long as nobody takes any lethal damage, they'll be fine.  Let's just pray this Scyther doesn't know Slash...

3 HP, actually. He has a Vitality of 2, not 1, so he currently has 3/7 HP left. If he gets to bady banged up, he has Sitrus Juice just for the occasion. Oh, and Ventus still wants that Scyther, even after being creamed. Perhaps even more, now that it has demonstrated such strength to him!

Yeah, he's weird like that. If Scyther tries to get too close, though, then he's wiping out his knife to take a stab at it!

One success on damage from the first fury cutter (though Iron didn't state the damage there for some reason)
Three success from the second.
And two more from the third, with a pokemon taking one of that (despite the bug resistance).  This scyther could have easily KOed Ventus in one round!

Of course, if Iron says 3 left, then it's 3.

And if Scyther gets any closer to Ventus, Kirlia has orders to defend him (and teleport him to a safer location so scyther doesn't immediately know where he is). The knife shouldn't be necessary.

About the latter, lolz. Be careful though! Shiva'd be devasted if you'd die. And worried like hell if you come in front of her with lethal damage.

If Kirlia try to get him away from the battle and Raphael, he's not going to comply with that action. He's worried about you and his Pokémon as well, you know. I didn't count any damage from that anklet cut, since Iron didn't specifically say I took damage from it, but to each their own!
