[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Masquerain Round 1


Ah, that bug did not attack. For now. Instead, it was just showing off more of its color, trying to look intimidating.
Well, it succeeded on the latter. Just a bit, though. Azurill looked away from the opponent, asking her caretaker what to do now...

"Hey, lil' one, no need to be scared now. I'm right there, so how about you stay at distance and shoot that bug with a Water Gun like we trained before?"

Helios is practically acting on his own in the first round. Let's see how he reacts to such a showoff-Masquerain before we'll give him any orders.

Orders for this round: As stated Water Gun from Azu, Abra knows on his own what to do.
Effect: Damage! Bringing the bug down! Hopefully.
Secondary Effect: None.
Pain Penalization: 0 so far.
Accuracy Roll: 0 Strenght + 1 Fight + 2 Channel = 3 dice
Damage Roll: 0 Strenght + 2 Power of Move = 2 dice
Additional notes: Intimidate lowered Strenght Stat by 1, therefor 0.

Masquerain Round 1

Azurill is excited to fight a real opponent.

Water Gun
2 dex +1 Fight + 2 channel
(6)(5)(4)(4)(4) Critical hit! Azurill's bell jingles happily as it strikes hard.
2 dice + 2 dice crit -2 vit
(4)(3) Masquerain takes 1 damage. 5/6hp.

Masquerain is also excited by the prospect of combat.

He flips and flops his wings like a Semaphore tower, whipping up a great gust! Or, one might say, a whirlwind!

Whirlwind

As the whirlwind grows, Azurill dives into the hat, which catches in the fork of a tree. From there, Azurill is in a wonderful position to fire water guns! Thanks, Masquerain!

Abra decides he doesn't like this showoff, as you predicted. He teleports right on top of Masquerain and drops straight down.

Ohhhh, looks like another rather serious battle. Will be a good training for both of her Pokemon, in various matters. Lil' Azurill seemed relatively fine as far as Shiva could see from here... The mouse was just looking down at her from that fork of the tree. Ah, at least Cottonee can get her down later then.

"Listen up, dear one, do not fear anything! I'm still with you, you're in a great position to hit your target, you can hide in the top hat for cover and I'll get you down from there as soon as possible, I promise!" ... "For now, please continue with your Water Gun. Aim for the wings!"

Ah, as predicted, Helios detested being overshadowed by others just because they think they're something better. How droll... Shiva did not expected that small innocent Psychic to have such an ego. It could be useful later, as well as a hinder once he evolves further... But let's concentrate on this for now. "Very well, done, you almost hit the bug. Do that again please and try to slap your opponent down into the river! You'll surely be rewarded properly for your efforts!"


Orders for this round: We'll continue with Water Gun and Strike until either something happens that needs my immediate interaction, or the bug is down.
Effect: Damage.
Secondary Effect: If we aim for the wings and try to bring that Masquerin into the water of the river, we might disable it. They cannot fly properly when wet.
Pain Penalization: 0 so far.

Accuracy Roll Water Gun: 2 Dexterity + 1 Fight + 2 Channel = 5 D6dice
Damage Roll Water Gun: 0 Strenght + 2 Power of move = 2 D6dice

Acurracy Roll Strike: 2 Dexterity + 1 Fight + 0 Brawl = 3 D6dice

Whirlwind

Azurill is blown away from battle! Luckily the hat and mouse do not land in the river. That might be traumatizing!
They are about 200' further into the forest, though, and just out of sight!

Strike

(6) Masquerain takes 1 damage. 3/6hp -2 pain.

Masquerain's little feet touchdown on the river and it struggles to stay aloft. Eventually it dumps Abra into the river instead, being the stronger Pokemon! That sure wakes Abra up!

However, it gains a -1 penalty from having wet wings.

"Shiva just gave that Maskquerain an enraged and highly toxic expression. "Go to hell with your whirlwind!" Calm your words, dear.

Oh, what to do... Immediate actions are needed! Azurill needs her new Master! She turned towards the battle again, just in time to see Abra being dumped into the river. Upon cutting to the surface again, her Pokemon looked more awake then ever. And angry at the opponent as ever. Not as his caretaker (hopefully), but rather at that Masquerain. We'll make the bug pay. How interesting to see an Abra high at spirits and wrathfully on top of that...

She decided rather quickly what to do. Her emotions won over the situation. "Helios, I'll be back right away. Trust me on this. I won't leave you alone, I never would, I'll just be out of sight for very short to gather your battle partner." ... "Meanwhile, use Teleport to get out of the river, and strike that Masquerain down for me and what it has done to you!"


I assume Azurill can't attack in this round, so it'll be just Helios now. Oh right, I said I don't enjoy multiple actions... but this Round just calls for one.

Orders for this round: Helios will teleport out of the river, and strike down the annoying bug.
Effect: Damage. Revenge.
Secondary Effect: Masquerain will only get more wet if it succeeds. This will be a lesson to the bug.
Pain Penalization: Luckily 0 so far.

Accuracy Roll Teleport: 2 Dexterity + 1 Fight + 2 Channel - 2 for 1st Multiple Action = 3 D6dice
Accuracy Roll Strike: 2 Dexterity + 1 Fight + 0 Brawl = 3 D6dice
Damage Roll Strike: 0 Strenght + 1 power of 'move' = 1 D6dice

Additional notes: According to Corebook, only one Will Point per action, so we'll also spend one Will Point to add one autosuccess to Teleport for the sake of getting out of the water.

No need to spend a Will Point on Teleport, then.



Masquerain Round 3


Azurill is going to take 3 rounds even running full out. She's dragging the top hat, but that doesn't even impede her because of Huge Power!

The whirlwind devolves into a Gust.

Gust
5 dice, -2 pain, -1 wet wings.

(1)(1)(5) No damage.
Abra has begun teleporting away when the gust subsides.

Shiva scoops up Azurill and runs back with her. Shiva's legs are longer than Azurill's.

Masquerain Round 5

The bug is determined to show off every move in its repertoire!

Ominous Wind

2 Str + 2 power -1 vit thanks to Bug Buzz = 3dice +1 super effective.
(2)(3)(6) +1 Abra takes a third and a fourth damage. -3 pain now, 1/5hp.

Abra uses Teleport to meet up with Shiva.

Oh happy sweet moment to finally have Azurill back in her arms. Safely and in one piece on top of that. "Oh my... Azu... You're not hurt... Let's head back quickly, shall we?"

Half way however, Helios teleported himself next to her. Shiva was startled over this at first - it only increased as she saw in what state the Abra was. She croached down to him and stroke over his right cheek with the back of her hand, and spoke in a soft-appreciating voice to him. Showing that his caretaker came back, as promised. "My, dear one, that Masquerain must have played ill on you... But stay assured. I will make the bug pay for what it has done to you. I'll also help you to get a better control of your powers to get rid of such annoyances nicely and quickly, if you allow me." ... "Please rest for now." She withdrew Helios into his Pokeball.

The sight of the Masquerain then, who was weakly flattering there with their wet wings filled Shiva with cold wrath. Couldn't help it. She looked down to Azurill in her arms who was nestled in the top hat again. She spoke softly to the mouse, the wrath sealed away internally to not scare her. "Azu... that bug has hurt your battle partner. It almost blew you away from me. That's something we cannot tolerate, at no costs. ... Hit it hard with Water Gun. Finish it off."


Orders for this round: We'll use Water Gun until the Masquerain fainted. I'm there for immediate interactions, like pain Penalization at -2 level.

Effect: Hit hard and inflct damage! 
Secondary Effect: We'll flood the bug.
Pain Penalization: Luckily 0 so far on Azurill.
Accuracy Roll Water Gun: 2 Dexterity + 1 Fight + 2 Channel = 5 D6dice
Damage Roll Water Gun: 0 Strenght + 2 Power of move = 2 D6dice
Additional notes: None.

Azurill knows what it's like to rely on a partner, and gives Water Gun its full attention.

Masquerain's wings have dried out by now. It shows off to celebrate.

Absorbed in its dance's final steps, Masquerain doesn't even feel Water Gun's effects. Azurill is still a bit intimidated by the flashy creature, too. Abra shifts in his sleep, as though he senses a great showoff.

(1) Azurill just can't get a square hit. This makes her sad.

Shiva looked down at the Azurill... The mouse seemed unhappy with her efforts in the battle... "Azu... It's not over yet. Give the bug another Water Gun as your final act and epilogue. WITH FULL FORCE, PLEASE. No need to be scared of your opponent dear one, I'm here with you."

Secondary Effect: Even if we don't inflict any direct damage, the gug will be soaked if hit. Shall be a lesson to him.
Pain Penalization: -2.
Accuracy Roll: 2 Dexterity + 1 Fight + 2 Channel -2 Pain = 3 D6dice, 1 Autohit due to Will Point
Damage Roll: 0 Strenght (1 on default, -1 due to Intimidate) + 2 Power of move = 2 D6dice (-2 Vitality Masquerain)
Additional notes: Now is a good time to spend one Will Point. I don't want Azurill to be sad because she missed the target.
