"Then you, sir, are a fool."  Nathan recalls Swiftfire and uses a potion on Kirlia as he issues his next command wiillfully. "Kirlia, TELEPORT!"

Order: Time to withdraw back to town with maximum odds.  Full health Kirlia, one success from a will point, everyone withdrawn bar Kirlia, who needs to be present for obvious reasons.

Neat! Didn't expect that outcome for some reason.

I will give 1 Xp of fighting experience to Swiftfire and to Kirlia, and therefore 1 XP to Nathan.

You appear in the town.

I guess before I tell you if Ventus and so on are back yet, I'll have to resolve that Poliwhirl encounter. But you can do things in town that don't depend on the others of your party.

Nurse Joy will tell you that Princess needs an overnight stay. She came dangerously close to taking lethal damage. Your other Pokemon will be fully healed with an hour's rest and a bath in the healing light of the machine.

Nathan immediately rushes to the pokemon center when he arrives in town. Princess needs immediate attention, and that trainer needs to be reported. Nathan didn't expect this would be the last he saw of this mega-pinsir user, though. He'd have to be more prepared if they met again...and that meant getting stronger. He'd have to be able to fight him on even ground if he hoped to stand a chance of defeating that Pinsir...though he'd already come dangerously close to outdoing this ruthless trainer at his own game.

Nurse Joy informs him about the overnight stay for Princess, and when asked about the reason for the condition she was in, he fills her in on the whole story, giving her both a description of the trainer and his use of a Mega-Pinsir, as well as what he'd been doing in the forest. She immediately contacts the League once the healing machine is set to work.

This trainer could lose his license now if the League found him. And if they did, he would know who to blame for it.

Nathan was oddly fine with that.

He waits in the Pokemon Center's back rooms while the healing machine is at work on Zippy and Princess. He'd have to apologize to his four pokemon later for getting them in that situation...and thank them for standing by his side despite everything he'd asked of them then. Especially to Princess.

Giant Poliwhirl Round 01

Frowning at his patient, he forced them t0 down a glass of water in order help flush his system of that drug. Waiting from them to finish, he just sighed and gave the man a stern look. "Considering the state of duress you are in, sir, I have ample reason to worry for you well being. This is neither hear or there, however. Now tell me, what-"

He didn't get to finish his statement, for the giant Poliwhirl awoke suddenly, lumbering into a position to attack all of them! His eyes widened at the sight, before he quickly scanned what could have awakened the sleeping giant. Spotting Shiva with her electric mice present in front of the aquatic beast, his eyes narrowed sharply. 'So they must have roused it from it tugor state. She should have waited until I was finished checking over this man, but that action is naught but a fanciful possibility. Actions need to be taken. Now.' Ventus though, flicking his wrist and palming Apsis Pokeball.

Another flick, at the ball was shot straight out in front of the Poliwhirl, summoning the equally imposing Arbok right in front it. Hissing threateningly at the aquatic menace, she raised herself to their full height,  Leering at the beast with every ounce of menace she has! Still couched down beside the ill man, he barked out his orders to Apsis, his voice now a full on growl. "Apsis, intimidate this beast with Leer, then assalt it with Thunder Fang. Target the eyes first, then go for the jugular!

With so many people at risk from this gigantic amphibian's presence, he will show no mercy to it.

Order: Have Apsis use Leer until its defense drops, then go to town with Thunder Fang (multiple actions), with Apsis going for the Poliwhirl's eye first, before seeking out the jugular. This is a nostalgic encounter for the two of them, isn't it?

Moves:

Thunder Fang
Accuracy Pool: Pool 2 and Pool 1, then Pool 3 and Pool 2 from 2nd Round onwards

Zippy is actually pretty proud of you for keeping a cool head in that situation. He doesn't seem offended at all.

When Princess wakes up, her pride is a bit hurt. She's raised to be a queen, after all, and that Pinsir ran quite roughshod over her. This doesn't mean she thinks you did the wrong thing, but she just has a self-centered viewpoint on the whole situation.

Nurse Joy is appalled (more by the threats than the violence), and makes sure to contact the Chief Ranger as well. She asks if you have any evidence of the encounter, like a photo or a description of the trainer. A message goes out to Zamboni, too, as the nearest Gym Leader and arm of the League.

She also informs you that Mega-Evolution is rare in Creshire (as in the world!), which Nathan may have already known. It requires a rare mineral catalyst, a memorable bonding experience with the Pokemon in question, and rare technology on the part of the trainer. Many casual trainers in Creshire haven't even heard of the phenomenon.

Unfortunately, Nathan hadn't thought to attempt taking any photos or such in the heat of the moment. Princess had been squeezed really tightly, so that was evidence of the Bind use, at least. Aside from that, the Mega-Pinsir and description of the trainer's appearance are all the League would have to go on. The mega would be really defining, but Nathan understood that just those claims alone might not be enough by themselves to relieve him of his Trainer License. The memory of that fight was still fresh, though, so he was able to give an accurate description of what he'd looked like.

They could ask Kirlia about what the trainer had been feeling as well, if they wished, though. Kirlia had been present the entire time, so he would have surely picked up something. The four pokemon that participated in that battle also wouldn't disagree with what had happened. That makes one human witness and four pokemon, one of which is a psychic and partial empath.

Nurse Joy agrees that Kirlia is an especially effective witness, and registers Nathan's phone number in case the League needs to contact him. Using Bind isn't illegal, of course - it's the motivation that brings this to the level of an infraction, and this is why Kirlia might be necessary. But all this depends on the trainer being caught!

Rangers with Growlithe, Fireweed Forest born and bred, go out in force to sniff out the trail. One of the rangers also brings a Psychic type with him to help. They come back, having picked up the trail and thus verifying Nathan's story. Unfortunately, the trail ended abruptly in a soft area of mud.

"So be it, then. He'll get what's coming to him eventually, I'm sure. And if I see him again, I hope I'll be ready for it...he's not likely to take the end of that encounter lightly...he probably only ran because I escaped from his grasp. Said he wasn't afraid of the League, but that clearly was somewhat false if he turned tail after I left the area.

"I'll keep an eye on who's calling me at all times, Nurse Joy. Thank you for the assistance. If I see him again, I'll contact you immediately, hopefully with a photo for some additional evidence."

Nathan looks out the window. It's getting dark again...he goes outside to wait by the Genesect statue, 5 of his pokemon in hand. The others would surely return soon. In the meantime, he calls his mom to fill her in on what happened. He also calls Miller to warn him about that trainer, too. He asks both to inform him immediately if they see a trainer with a (Mega-)Pinsir that matches the description he gave Nurse Joy, and to be careful if they do see him as well.

He also sends Vincent and Mallorn a text saying a similar thing. The more people who knew about this trainer, the more quickly he could be caught. He'd have to inform the party about this event when they returned...where were they, though? How deep into the forest did they go?

Sage, feeling better than before tried to sit up with some difficulty. Upon doing so he reached for his bag and unzipped it. Pulling out a PokeBall he released an Oshawott named Simbad. He started telling Simbad to find the PokeBall in his labeled NOYB. After/if completion of this task Oshawott handed over the red and white sphere. Once the PokeBall opened Sage removed an orange pill bottle. After taking two pills and stuffing it back into the PokeBall Sage noticed the giant Pokemon. Unsure of what Pokemon it is he pulled out his Pokedex and recorded it. Reading small device he read aloud "The spiral pattern on its belly subtly undulates. Staring at it gradually causes drowsiness." "Hmm..." he said "Poliwhirl eh? Never heard of it..."
Sage noticed a girl nearby. She appeared to be battling the Poliwhirl. Seeing an opportunity to game their trust decided to help.

Order: Send Simbad to attack the Poliwhirl. Use Tackle.
