You know, for a guy with 4 Insight, Ventus misses a lot of obvious stuff every so often.  Just thinking out loud here, though.  Don't mind me.

That's why Nathan said nothing about that in the call.  You can bet he'll have some strong words for Ventus when the researcher starts thinking along those lines.  For more than one reason.

Oh my... more issues between them... They once got along well. Now there are spats because different views on moral. And it will be up to Shiva to comfort Ven if he needs it, for sure... On the other hand, this just brings them closer!

You know, for a guy with 4 Insight, Ventus misses a lot of obvious stuff every so often.  Just thinking out loud here, though.  Don't mind me.

Ventus' insight represent more of his innate empathetic powers and his experience with how tragic life can be, rather than actual insightfulness. Since he's been able to read emotions and determine their root cause (to an extent) from birth, and has been through enough scheisse to always's be on edge around stranger/fairies/mystical stuff, Ventus is very much reliant on his abilities to operate with others.
 
Ironically, young Nathan is more insightful in the traditional sense than Ventus, just because he's far more rational and level headed in abnormal situation/crisises, while Ven just hunkers down and gets ready for the onslaught.

As for Ventus' murderous thought pattern...who says he started? Or never stopped? Remember, when it comes to threats to his friends or family, the researcher is far from saintly.

The reason why is simple, really : You've always been there for him. Always. At first, your fae nature made him greatly concerned, but upon getting to know you, his initial suspicion proved false (Or too early), and he dropped them. Then the Flowers Incident happened, and you where there to comfort him in his darkest moment. Since he had to always rely on himself, having someone to lean on is a Big Deal to him at the time, and Shiva actions from there on, and the interaction between them had only fueled the fires of relationship between them.

Now that Nathan is not ready to blow up on Ventus at a moment's notice, he has someone else to that he can rely on, but your his first choice when it comes to solace and companionship. He cares about Nathan and Shiva equally, don't get me wrong, but its in different way as well. I guess that is Shiva's price to pay for being so comforting to him...
