Wow, those yellow pokemon could be a lot of different things...Joltik, Tricwe, maybe Pikachu, shiny Caterpie, Shiny Shelmet, Cyndaquil, Drowzee, Psyduck, Kinetmunk, Dunsparce, Jerbolta, Numel, Combee, Helioptile, Cutiefly...and that's probably not even the full list of possibilities.  Or it overshoots the number of possibilities entirely with its generality.

Its going to be a bit of a crapshoot, then, to see if you are going to get what you want out of this new encounter set. Though, given that you are in a massive forest know for its Bug types, and the Pokémon is hanging out near live powerlines, its likely going to be Joltick, Tricwe, Pickachu etc... At the very least, you are likely going to get that Electric type you want on your team!

Yeah, I'll probably get something that's electric type out of it.  Tricwe seems almost as likely as Joltik in terms of just liking sucking power, though I think Joltik wins out there in the end because Tricwe are Tandorian primarily.

Also, this forest is known for its fire types as well.  And Numel is on the list of Yellow pokemon, if you didn't notice It's probably more likely to be found on Mt. Molten, but hey, ya never know!

Very true, but if it turns out to be a Numel, I'm outa luck on that front, unless Nathan just feels generous to give the volcanic camel for some odd reason. Please let it not be, though, as that is just going to make me a little depressed at the irony of it all...

Sage is apparently a better breeder than both Shiva and Nathan...

... That only gets me more interested in Sage, though. In a positive, curious way.

You might not get another chance to easily obtain a pokemon as rare as Froakie, Nylon. The frog isn't guaranteed to stick around for the third set of encounters, after all. Sure you want to face what's probably a fairly common pokemon instead?

I just worry that it will be hard to hold a conversation with them, when the time comes for Nathan and Ventus to start really question their chara....

*cough again* You seem to forget that Shiva will be interested in approaching him as well, she'll have slightly different intentions to do so, though.

Its not a bad idea to give them up, all things considered. They are one of the few starters that gets an insanely high disobedience score as it evolves, so him deciding not to put up with that is a pretty reasonable idea. We already have Ronin Spearow to worry about, so a Ninja Frog could be even worse to deal with!

As for Sage...they are quite a conundrum, but we will find out more about them as time goes on. Just have to see what awaits us, really.

*cough again* You seem to forget that Shiva will be interested in approaching him as well, she'll have slightly different intentions to do so, though.

More or less because your chara usually doesn't interrogate other chara like Nathan and Ventus does, so your chara wanting to question him as well just slipped my mind!

I also remember's something about that Poliwhirl...it was the giant water Pokémon that bared my chara's path. Wonder what else is in store for my doom!

Ah, @Iron, I'm not really up for a yellow suprise-Pokemon, neither for an Item. I'll send in a Training Session while following the path in the hope to catch up on the others as soon as you begin to roll out Encounters. Chances are that I'll run into Nathan first, maybe get the chance to witness a part of his encounter.

It's not an immediately high disobedience, though.  There's time to build up loyalty before it becomes a Greninja.  Unlike with a Scyther or an Absol.  Or a Vespiqueen or Arbok that evolves faster than expected.

And yeah, we'll have to cross that bridge concerning Sage when we get there...
