[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Oh... If she wasn't mistaken, Shiva reached the outskirts of the forest while following the voices of the others - meanwhile, she could clearly distinguish them from background noises like the chittering of Bug-Types. There were less and less trees, and the path became more maintained the further one goes. Were those Sailors and ships in the far horizon...? Corsage can't be that far away anymore.

Eh, anyway, she has arrived at this spot and...indeed, she made it to catch up. But they all seem busy/minding their own business...

But first - all that hasted walking has tired her out. Still not used to walking much fast. Although that carrying around of an egg in incubator as well as an Iron Ball were somewhat paying off (that's where the level-up in Strenght came from)... Being somewhat emotionally drained due to what Ven revealed to her about his past wasn't helpful either. In a calm moment like this the scene came back to her, but she quickly brushed it off. None will complain if she'll take a break right here... She sat down just where she was and leaned backwards against the trunk of a tree, taking a few deep breaths, before she called out Cottonee and Fennekin from their balls. The fluffball was as eager as always at the sight of her caretaker - been a while since she was able to spend some time outside the Pokeball! - while Fennekin was stretching his legs like he just awoke from a pleasant slumber.

She told her companion Pokemon that they'll be taking a break here, and encouraged them - Azurill included - to enjoy a little free time to play and train their moves, while she herself will rest and watch over them as well as the other party members here.

Shortly after, the Pokemon were engaging in what could be called a playful teamwork-training-session:
Cottonee was blowing up yellow and orange leaves from the ground using Fairy Wind.
Fennekin tried to set them ablaze with Ember while they were still in the air.
Azurill was encouraged by the cottonball and fox to put them out with Water Gun before they reached the ground.

Shiva, meanwhile, held that fainted Spearow wrapped up in the souvenir towel close to her while trying to call home. But, she never reached through, neither after several attempts... Must be the distance to Unova. Or the wooded area. Or both. Ah, she could still try from the next Pokemon Center, if not by phone then by the PCs there.

No new messages from any of their group either... That were good news, right? She was also wondering whether she should call the Daycare owners back... The last thing she heared, was Golda telling her discretly that the Infiltrator Pokemon with wished attributes has indeed hatched. A male one, also. But that was days ao.

Before approaching the tiny bug, Nathan gives some thought to how he wants to approach this.  Joltik feed on electricity in a way, using it to power their electric attacks...

"Kirlia, help me out with getting a read on it, please.  Porygon, you're familiar with electricity, right?  Could you use that loose wire to change to an Electric type with Conversion 2, then help Joltik recharge?  If there's any way we'll make friends with it, it's satisfying its needs."

Plan in place, Nathan squats a short but respectful distance away from Joltik.  "Hey there little fella.  You want a little help with recharging?  Porygon here is going to change to Electric type, and I expect he's gathered a lot of excess static elelectricty from all the tackling he's been doing lately.  You can cling to him and use that to recharge if you like."

Reading the inscription caused Ventus to tilt his head, perplexed by the enigmatic clue. "Strange...this seems to be a hint into opening a pathway down some complex, but what? This pott must be hundreds of years old, so whatever its referencing must be equally ancient. Hmm....I best record the inscription in my journel, and bring it back to Nathan for his viewing. Perhaps he can assist me puzzling this text's meaning's out," the researcher said, retrieving his personal journal from his satchel and flipping it open, quickly scribbling down the bronze plaque's clue.

Snapping his book shot, he put it away and turned his gaze on the Dragonair statue, before looking back to the Bonsely once more, giving it a small smile. Poiting to the ceramic figure, he said to it :"Do you mind if I take this with me? I have a great vested interest in Dragon types, and I would love to have this for my personal collect. Also, if it wouldn't trouble you, could you possible show me where you picked that Oran Berry? I have a Poffin for you if you lead me to them, as I would like to replenish my stock of healing berries." During this exchange, Ariel was still carefully observing the weird rocky tree, trying to figure out what would compel a Rock type to mimic its greatest enemy. It was completely baffling to her!!

Order: Take the Dragonair Statue and get the Bonsely to lead me to the Oran Bush it got its berry by bribing it with my last Poffin. If it objects to me taking the statue, have Corsola began to battle it by using Bubbling once per round, until its -2 Pain or less; Ven will then catch it to talk to it later. If it objects to leading them to its Oran stash, but not to Ven taking the statue, he'll just leave with it and return to the group. He not looking for a fight or causing trouble, he just wants the figure and possibly some Oran Berries!

Froakie Round 1

Lick
Accuracy: 3 Dex + 1 Fight
(4)(1)(4)(1) Hit!
Dmg: 1 Power + 1 Stab + 3 Str -1 vit = 4 dice!
(2)(4)(4)(6) Froakie takes 3 damage. 1/4hp remain.
Paralysis: (1)(1)(5) Nope.

Valder sees that Froakie is nearly fainting and gets a bit hasty. He fumbles trying to get a pokeball out of his bag, then halfway to throw it, he realizes he has a net ball, so he puts the pokeball back and tries to pull out his net ball. On the way out of the bag, Valder nearly drops it to the ground.
At this point Theo (which is always outside of his ball if he's not hurt) is observing Valder as if he's a sircus.

"Don't judge me, Theo... I just forgot to breathe, that's all" Theo makes an expression that could be both disbelief, laughter or worried nonchalance. "Anyway!"

Valder throws his net ball at Froakie!

Shiva's Pokemon enjoy their training session disguised as playtime. Azurill works harder than anyone, determined to evolve someday.

This forest is very enjoyable for all your Pokemon - they all like either grass or the color scheme or the nearby river. Or perhaps just the mood.

Porygon successfully converts to the Electric Type. Joltik leaves the flickering lamplight and latches onto Porygon instead. The enigmatic digiduck does not flinch or really react at all. However, Porygon is unable to handle Electricity as well as a true Electric type, and Joltik feeding on the energy is not healthy for Porygon in the long term.

Porygon temporarily loses 2 maximum hit points. This will last until he takes a nice 8 hour rest.

Joltik looks extremely happy, like a Meowth in a Miltank barn when it's milking time. He clings to Porygon's side.

Nathan's Insight: 2 + 2 bonuses
(5)(1)(5)(3)

Joltik's Will:
(4)(6)(4)(6)

However, Joltik does not look at all inclined to travel with you. Joltik has the attitude of that same Meowth: it'll take all the goodies it can get, but it doesn't feel beholden to a master at all. Joltik, swollen with electricity, does not yet attack.

Maybe you could sweeten the deal somehow or otherwise work at convincing Joltik.

Bonsly hops out of the pot when you ask about the Dragonair, allowing you to abscond with the figurine. He leads you to a berry bush.

*roll* It does have one Oran Berry still left on it. You take that.

Bonsly trots back to the pot, and buries the Poffin in the gravel for later. He doesn't seem bothered by the missing figurine, but rearranges his little garden to suit it.

Ventus grinned with delight as he took ahold of the ceramic treasure, clearly pleased that he was able to obtain it without resorting to violence. His good mood only grew as the little Bonsly lead him to Oran Berry ripe for the picking, which he promptly did so. Ariel was still quite confused by the mimic's existence, but once it proved itself a non-threats, she finally let her guard down and trotted over to her master's side. Spotting the tasty berry that was in his grasp, she started to hop up and down, trying to get his attention.

The researcher was able to quickly deduce that his Corsola wanted the Oran he just picked, and let out a low chuckle as he gave it to her, switching it for her Hard Stone. "You are quite eager for this berry, Ariel, so I will let you hold onto it for now. I recommend saving it for when you most need it, as having on the spot healing is quite a boon, truth be told," he said to her, giving her an expectant look. Grumbling a bit at the lose of her pretty rock, she knew that it would not do her too much good right now (She didn't know any rock moves, sadly), so she might as well get some use out of an berry in the future!

With all his business here done, Ven gave the potted Bonsly a wave of good-bye and thanks, before he started to make his way back to the campsite. The daylight was starting to wane, and he was quite eager to share his discovery with the group upon his arrival. And perhaps a training session with his newest addition, if there was still time left afterwards!

Order: Depart for camp, wait for the rest of the group to return, and show Nathan both the Dragonair Statue and the inscription. While waiting, do a training sesson (A simple one) with Raphael, Ariel, and Lucifer if possible (Togepi is still trying to learn Ancient Power, and Corsola is trying to learn Rock Blast, so Hard Stone bonuos to them will apply).

"Hmmmm....how about some honey, Joltik? Here, you can have some. Just the one for now, though. I've got some more I can share if you join me and my pokemon. You want to grow big and strong, right? That'll be hard to do if you stick around this forest. Not a lot of electricity here. My group and I are travelling around the region, and I'm certain it would help you to grow. Lots of big cities and technology we'll be encountering in our travels, which means lots of electricty. If you help me out, I'll be able to help you evolve. And you'll get to chow on some easy, tasty honey from time to time. Win-win, right? So, what do ya say? Partners?"
