[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
Done, thanks a bunch for clearing the matters!

I know that Dexterity replaces Contest... But if it'd replace Contest SUBSKILLS as well, Nuzzle's Accuracy Roll would be Dexterity + Fight + ...Dexterity again. That makes no sense at all.

Noooo, stop thinking weird thoughts! *hides*
Charm indeed uses Allure, though...

Considering that I have no use for Allure on my skill sheet, I rather not be required have that added to my roll, when it was not before that point....

Hmmm...that is a good point. And I'd have to readjust some of my move accuracy notes...the way I've been doing it so far is replacing the first one on the listed accuracy roll with Dex, the second with fight, and leaving the third one be...had to do that so far with:
- Growl (Tough/Cute, Contest, and Perform) -> (Dexterity, Fight, Perform?)
- Spider Web (Special, Fight, and Canalize) -> (Dexterity, Fight, Canalize)
- Draining Kiss (Insight, Contest, and Allure) -> (Insight, Dexterity?/Fight, Allure?)
- Sweet Scent (Special, Survival, and Nature) -> (Dexterity, Survival, Nature)
- Conversion and Conversion 2 (Smart, Knowledge, and Science) -> (Dexterity, Knowledge, Science)
- Teleport (Special, Fight, Canalize) -> (Dexterity, Fight, Canalize)

I've been replacing the first two in each with Dexterity and Fight as needed and not really touching the third so far. The trend for all the moves' accuracy is that they use one attribute/contest stat, one skill, and one specialty, no exceptions.

What needs to be corrected here, @Iron? Gotta nail down all the replacement accuracy stuff or add those contest traits on the sheet somewhere. Eliminating those contest stats has really made a mess of a lot of the accuracy pools...particularly Growl's...

In some way, yes. In a different way, no - It strongly depends on what Pokemon are used, what their move pool is and what moves are actually used. Something like Growl can be important at the beginning, but later not that much anymore.

I don't need no other Contest Subskill/Speciality else than Allure and Perform~

The way Dragonstrike is doing it is the way I intended it to be. Looks like during the Zamboni battle and the Nathan/Ventus battle, we did Charm this way, but more recently you used Canalize/Channel.

Let's say that Dexterity starts off every single accuracy roll, even Insight. So all Attributes during accuracy are Dexterity. If the Skill exists, use it, but otherwise use Fight. Then for Specialties, you need the one listed or a similar one at GM discretion.

I didn't realize just how many moves used the Contest stats, however. It'd be nice to reward people who invest in these "soft" specialties without punishing those with no interest in them.
Let's start enforcing them the way Dragonstrike does it, but everyone can choose a free specialty point like Allure or Perform that goes with one of their moves. How's that sound? Feedback welcome.

Aww, I like the fact of using Insight in rare cases, since I have a ton of it, but I understand that its easier to stream line it this way than to do it the old way. On the subject of free specialty point, I'll put it in Allure, then. Charm is one of my main defuffing moves, so I might as well have a point in it.

Since this is a new rule change, however, will you be updating you Rule section to reflect this change, and will it apply to the battle I'm having right now?

Hmmm...yeah, I'll take it in Allure as well. So we have both Allure and Perform on the character sheet now, both under Knowledge...I must have put Perform down really, really early on in the campaign during the Nurse Joy Battle...

I've noted the rules on my character sheet (and also added a section on Move Tutoring in Misc Notes so I don't have to wander far to look for those rules when Shiva starts using them), so that should help solidify things.

And yeah, a lot of the non-damaging (and even a few of the cutesy damaging ones like Nuzzle and Fairy moves) use Contest stats in some way. There's lots to keep track of, and not enough exp to go around in this campaign to support absolutely everything.

After the campaign is over and done with, I would love to have a look at your character sheet, Dragonstrike! It sounds utterly fascinating, and it might teach me how to improve my own recording keeping in the future...

Also, I updated my last post in meta thread concerning these new rule changes on my current battle, @Iron. Thought I let you know, in case you missed it!

If that's the case, I gladly take a free point in Perform! This subskill will be important on my team later during the campaign, so there's that.

I prefer keeping notes about rules and mechanics on paper instead on the Charasheet. It just has two additional tabs I update from time to time.

Pro Tip number one: Record EVERYTHING!  The character sheet is a valuable resource, and if you can keep it organized and informative, it will serve you well in the long run.

Pro Tip number two: Don't just inform!  Perform!  Make the character sheet nice to look at as well as informative.  Don't overdo it though, or it won't be as easy on the eyes as if you'd only done a few touch ups here and there.

I've put lots of info in my sheet concerning all manner of things.  Stats are one thing, sure.  But I also keep notes on characters, what pokemon we've met and who caught them first (so I can keep track of when we get Mallorn money), where we saw the pokemon (Iron gets to fill in the gaps on locations as he wishes since I'm not all-knowing), notes on all the moves my pokemon know and what they do, notes on any abilities my pokemon have had, and lots of misc notes concerning what we've learned and what my character already knows (such as what little he knows on Tandorian pokemon and the history of each region [mostly the recent history involving trainers from the last 10 years, since that's the most likely to be relevant].  I also time stamped where all of the games lay on the timeline [Uranium was about a year and a half ago if you noticed that in the conversation with Shiva]  I still have to determine if it's Nate or Rosa and Sun or Moon from their games, but I'm currently leaning towards Rosa and Sun being the ones that participated in the events of those games).

And above all, it's colorful.  If something is related to a type or element of some kind, I color code it.  I've got one color I use for every type.  Red for fire, Blue for water, a dark green for bug, purple for psychic, a very, very light purplish pink for fairy, a very light gray for normal...keeps it simple, and helps me find the info I need.  I use two colors for pokemon with two types.

And for the icing on the cake, I add descriptions for the moves, pokemon, and items I obtain, to add a little more character to what would otherwise be a digital piece of paper.
