[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

She just looked at him for a while though, not saying a single word. She didn't wanted to outright place herself next to, since she cannot know how he'd react and whether he'd allow her to be around and provide comfort at all. Hesitantly, she eventually spoke to him in a calm and somewhat careful voice. "Larry... It's nice to see you again, since you ran off from us without telling where you're going. But this is a different matter. What's more important... You... aren't doing very well, are you?"

Larry looked at shiva and told her about what had happened (I ain't typing a story of the post I made in 10 minutes you can go read it your self) "(story goes here) then the girl of my dreams thinks its a good idea to get rid of me along with everyone else it broke my heart to see my friends and crush backstab me so now I have no where to go but back to Tenno and live the life I lived." Larry told Shiva as he saw the fennekin Larry gave Zorua the command speak Zorua soon said "hello" in a voice Larry never heard "that's different I think she finally learnt to control her telepathy" Larry soon felt better and decided to fight Frank to get back in the group (since iron wont do battle stuff i'll just say someone wins and end it there) Larry told Shiva "thank you Shiva for helping me feel better now I think I should show them who's boss" Larry soon walked out the door yelling on his way out "WISH ME LUCK!" and begins to walk to the docks where he finds Frank

Eh... Okay, she actually did not expect Larry to come up with the whole story right away... Either he was really upset and close to breaking and therefore was overly happy to have comfort by someonelse than his Pokemon, or plain naive. Whatever it was, Shiva let him tell his full story without interrupting him and made sure not to miss any word he said. She might be not very fond of Larry in person, but this doesn't prevent her from providing comfort to him... He was no stranger to her. If he would be, Shiva would't care to comfort him. She's not here to save the world, you know... Just those people she cares for.

It was nice to see that that slight counselling was indeed helping... Larry clearly felt better. Even eager to confront those who played ill on him. That's the right attitude! Not shy away from them and bottle everything up, but go out and fire back. He had his dear Pokemon by his side. He's not alone at all.

The only thing she had to say to him was "How neat... Now out with you, show 'em and good luck!", all while waving him farewell with a slight smile. If going back to Tenno would help him to get better, then this shall be it. He'll live his life, in peace hopefully, and what will remain are the memories formed with Larry.

His Zorua was talking... Or did Shiva just imagine that? She wasn't very sure... Maybe she was TOO drained by now by emotional problems...

Well, dear, focus on yourself again, take care of YOURSELF. Don't forget that.

A way more interesting thing was that Fennekin was...somewhat vary of Larry's Zorua. Her fox was outright scared, but they got along relatively quickly without biting each others throat. Nevertheless, Fennekin was glad to see Larry and Zorua leave. Maybe it was the fact that his fox was a pure Dark Type, while hers will gain Psychic as secondary Type... Yeah, that'll be the matter.

Kirlia is a bit too distracted to make as much progress toward Calm Mind as you'd like, but Kirlia still gains 1XP.

Now with Larry gone, Shiva was free to mind her own business again... Where did we stop? ... ... ... Ah. Right.

Before she got up from the table though (at some point during hearing out Larry, she indeed sat down beside him), she took a look at Fennekin who looked up to his Master and rubbed his head against her leg. She picked the fox up to place him on the table and returned the gesture with careful strokes over his ears. "My, did that Zorua frighten you a little? I see... Well, it's fine now, they're gone now and I'm with you. I'll make sure his black fox does not hurt you if we ever meet them again." ... "It was quite a day for you, right? You deserve some rest... Back into your Pokeball, dear one." She withdrew Fennekin.

And onlooker with a bad tongue might say that the fox became her new favorite team member... Fact is, they didn't know that Shiva cares equally for all her team members. Cottonee and later Whimsicott - if she managed to get her ahands on a Sun Stone - was like her Signature 'Mon and the one most likely of getting any ideas that were capable of playing ill with her owner's mind (which called for extra-attention solo for the fluffball from time to time) and Helios might be dwelling on Bill's PC now, but that was just because the black-spottted egg was taking a slot in her team. Oh, if there ony was a possibility to solve this properly...

She went over to a free PC in the Longe Area. That one Trainers are all free to use. Shiva used it to place Fennekin onto Box1, and move Helios to her team. The city was full of Sailors and stuff... Maybe having a Fire Type here wasn't the outright smartest idea.

Next... The mechanics of calling someone via those Pokemon-Center-PCs were all the same, mostly. Worked similar to Skype. If Shiva wasn't mistaken, her father must be on and available at this time of the day. 'Connection is being established.' Let's hope it reaches through and doesn't leave her hanging now. If it does, maybe sending a letter using Fletchling would be the idea...

An evening at Murkrow Cove

Nathan could tell both he and Kirlia were still on edge.  Something just felt...off.  The despair in the air was heavy...

Despite that, the meditation did help.  And as they wrapped it up, they found themselves looking at a beautiful sunset.  Some water pomemon were blowing bubbles into the air farther out in the water.  It was...calming.  Swiftfire was running around the beach, meeting her own criteria for fun.  The bugs were all grouped together, socializing.  Or was Princess trying to give Grid orders? It was hard to tell.

Staryu was illuminating the surface of the sea, and enjoying the company of some water pokemon that had come over to see what the cause of the bright light was.  It looked like it was having fun seeing what the ocean was like.  "We'll have to visit the aquarium later.  I think Staryu would like that, dont you, Kirlia?"

Kirlia just nods, a rather troubled expression on his face.  He knows what's coming...

Nathan sighs.  "Okay, look.  I'm not mad at you, okay?  I know you know that.  I don't blame you for acting the way you did around Lucifer.  But...there's enough conflict in this group as it is, ya know?  As much as I don't like saying that, it's true...I'm at odds with Ven over morals...Shiva's keeping secrets from us..."

Nathan looks equally glum now.  "I just don't want you to have more to worry about than what you already have.  I know this place is reminding you of whatever hopelessness you once felt...but you know I meant it when I said you have me.  Have all of us.  You're not alone in this.  And even as tense as things are between us, I'm fairly certain it includes Ven and Shiva too."

Nathan turns to face Kirlia now.  "And as for what's troubling this town...I think we might be able to do something about it.  I don't know what, but it's a gut feeling I've got.  I'd rather run away from it, too.  But we set out on this journey to face our fears, right? And I know I wouldn't be able to do that if you weren't with me, buddy.  

"So, I guess what I'm trying to say is...I'd rather be on this journey with friends we know we can rely on, not companions who we're always mad at...I've had to give that a lot of thought...but I'm tired of feeling alone...you helped me realize that, you know.  I just want you to think about that too, okay?  We might not always be able to solve our problems by ourselves, after all..." 

Kirlia listens to the whole thing carefully.  He still didn't particularly like Lucifer, but maybe he had been a little too harsh on the bat...maybe.  Kirlia just nods in response.

"Alright, it's good you understand.  Well, let's gather everyone up and head back to town and the Center.  We'll need to be well rested for tomorrow's training.  We do have a Gym battle to win, after all."

META: @PhantomUnderYourDesk when Larry said go back to Tenno and return to the life he had there he means he doesn't want to go back as it was horrible (Larry worked long hard jobs only to make minimum wage (Tenno is basically the world in early AD with slaves, 2 class society and other stuff), Larry's older sister was sold off to pay for debt, his oldest sister left his family and Larry doesn't know where she is, and the rest of his siblings (2 sisters and a brother) still work dead end jobs in Tenno)

Larry walking back to the dock saw Rachel there sitting alone Larry thought it was a trap but then Larry heard her crying "I swear it'd like something in me wants to repeat almost everything I hear" (it's me lol and it's true for some reason) Larray said as he sighed "um Rachel... are you ok?" Larry asked as she turned to see Larry standing beside her "Larry you where right about Frank.." Larry soon interupted Rachel saying " he's corrupted? Hmm who would have guessed that oh yeah, I THE WISEST GUY IN THE GROUP WOULD HAVE FORSEEN THAT! OK carry on" Rachel then went on with telling Larry what happened " I tried to reason with Frank in geting you to come back but he called me terrible things like..." Larry interupted her again "please don't repeat what he said I already know he uses profanity" so Rachel continued the story "so the he hit me I tried to get my pokemon to help me but they just couldn't fight off his machop, Larry I'm sorry for not believing you" Larry soon sat down beside Rachel and patted her on the back "well now you will know not to trust him again and that's what's good now you stay here.... with..... uh you pokemon and hug the and love them it helped me get over being kicked out of the group well that plus some one to comfort me but I done that already now it's time for Frank to get a taste of his own medicine" Larry said as he got up, but then Rachel grabbed his hand "uh what you doing, can't you see I'm trying to kick some butt?" Larry said as Rachel got up and hugged him "thank you Larry for being such a good friend" Larry soon gave her a hug in return telling her "it's what good friends for"

soon Larry turned around to find Frank standing there *slow clapping* "well nerd it seem your dream came true now I think it's time for me to crush it!" Frank said as Larry griped his poke ball holding ekans (at the time Larry swapped the karp for ekans) "Frank for too long have I been under you, you stole my achievements, my fun, my friends, and now you plan on destroying me!" Larry said as he held the poke ball in his hand "if you want me to go back to Tenno you'll have to make me" Larry said as he threw the pokeball "cone on ekans let's show them you power" Frank laughing at the snake threw out his baashaun "go baashaun show them who's boss" Larry soon had the snake fight till almost fainting then withdrawed him "good job ekans now come rest" then Larry threw out his butterfree "ha what a nerd having a bug type pokemon you really think I'm gonna lose to a bug catcher with an ekans as you wild card? Hell no" but after the rude comment butterfree fainted the baashaun "what! You fainted him well no matter I got three more stronger pokemon in store" Frank said sending out his riolu but the butterfree nearly fainting it fainted "ok butterfree you did amazing now let's get you some rest" Larry said to his pokemon as he sent out another pokemon "ok Kakuna it's your turn" Larry soon after KOED th riolu "well Frank you can always forfeit the match if you want" Larry said feelin good about his pokemon the Frank sent out two pokemon at once "what the heck frank? Are you really that sore of a loser" Larry said as he sent out popplio and withdrawed Kakuna and replaced him with Zorua "aww i's that your little oshawott? He seem to cute to fight" Frank said as Larry told Zorua to use confusion on the tyrouge and popplio use water gun on machop Larry after an intense fight to faint the tyrouge finally fainted it but Zorua was in for trouble when Frank yelled "BLACKOUT!" Larry questioned what it meant and Larry was about to find out as the machop knocked the popplio over and ran straight for zorua soon the machop started punching Zorua and beating her up Larry yelled "FRANK STOP IT" with tears coming down his face "POPPLIO HIT HIM WITH EVERYTHING YOU GOT" Larry yelled to the little sea loin and soon a water gun hit the machop just right to push him away from Zorua "Zorua return, now go Kakuna" the Kakuna wentry in and poisoned the machop Larry soon sent in ekans to finish it off with a poison fang and fainted the machop

Larry soon darted to the poke center with a very damaged zorua in his hands he soon ran in to the pokecenter asking for nurse joy to heal the Zorua Larry told nurse joy to notify him when she was awake as Larry has some unfinished business at the docks then Larry returned to the where Frank soon walked up to Larry guided by something made Larry dodge a punch from Frank and soon Larry grabbed Franks arm and said "you need to cool off" and pushed him in to the water then Larry turned to everyone and asked "anyone else?" As everyone else apologized for kicking Larry out of the group soon Larry said "all in favor to kick Frank say I" and everyone said I soon Larry said " good bye Frank keep safe" and frank left for good

Though the connection is a bit fuzzy, Shiva connects to her father! She recognizes him first by his bright orange tie, coming into resolution before his bespectacled face and warm features.

"Oh, Shiva! How are you, dear? I am glad to learn you're safe! It's so hard to get a good connection across such distance."

He catches you up on a few things from Castelia: the music, the dancers, the strange or funny things that made the news. His Daycare is doing well too - no hint of anything darker going on there.

"Wow, you caught a very rare Pokemon! While I've heard of the Tandor Region, I've not heard of that particular Pokemon. Perhaps it is rare even in Tandor! Be a bit wary when interacting with Pokemon from outer space. Don't they have a myth in Creshire that Kyurem himself came from outer space? I think someone told me that when I was reading about the Giant Chasm. Lacunosa Town has a similar myth...but they're weird about legendaries in Creshire.

As a breeder, I can also tell you that evolution sometimes depends on location! And I'm not just talking about Magnezone evolving near heavy electromagnetism - I mean more like how Crobats are very rare in Kanto."

Oh happy day!  It worked in the end... Overjoyment was even understated if one would describe Shiva current mood. Around her family, she never took great care to seal any emotions or prevent them from being visible. It was true, her parents assured that she doesn't have to call home everyday or something into that direction - which didn't mean that they weren't missing their only child. But at the same time, Shiva was actually old enough to care on her own and manage her things pleasantly. While being relatuvely young in age, it was no secret among them that she was quite mature for her age. Occassional moody overreaction were just a thing that belonged to her personality.

"Dad... My, it's good to see you again, and that everything seems fine on top of that!~"
"Hehe... I'm doing alright, I may believe." Better not say that the city was quite gloomy, it'd only worry him. "I know, the connection's a problem here in this region. I tried via cell, then via Pokedex's Phone Function, but I never reached through... Nope, not my own Dex, I burrowed one from those I'm travelling with. Could have bought one back there in Trillium, but better save money for emergencies and especially Antidotes. Because... you know, Poison."

So... Comite were even rare in Tandor itself, huh? ...It only sweetened the catch she made there - truely felt like hitting the Jackpot.

"I know... I'll take good care of that psychic rock. That is, I haven't even withdrawn it from the PC to interact with it for the first time... But I'll surely take your advice to heart. From outer space..." 'Like Kyurem'? Eh... Alright.. Sounds like she now has an additional reason to visit a library to learn more about such a myth. Them being werid about Legendaries will be kept in mind as well. The former King of Chreshire had a team full of Legendaries, hadn't he? Hmmm... maybe that's why.

"On location? Like Eevee evolving into Glaceon and Leafeon, right? I picked up that Comite knows Confusion, and it seems to have an inkling of Psychic Powers within. Maybe having it enjoy areas with a strong presence and lots of positive energy would be helpful in some way. Even if it would turn out that it only evolves within Tandor itself for some reason."

Silence dwelled for a little. But that silence wasnÄt boring or awkward at all. Sometimes, it is even more telling than actual words. "Now that you mention breeding... Listen... I managed to get my hands on a Pokemon Egg a while ago. That is brilliant on it's own, since it will actually be the first egg I'll hatch on my very own... On top of that, I shortly after acquired a Fennekin in a forest. No Flame Body, sure, but having Fire as a Type it rather helpful on its own, wasn't it? But that's not the point... Thing is, that egg has black spots. Right... I can't show you though, it's up in my dorm here. You ever heard of such a phenomena? I know we sometimes had eggs who had an altered pattern wthat their usual, but pitchblack spots.... That pinkish Espurr that once hatched, hatched from a totally ordinary egg as well."

"Hmm. Well, eggs can have as much variety as the Pokemon inside them, that's true. If this were a Unovan Pokemon, I think I'd be able to identify it from its description, even with variations. So maybe it's from elsewhere, or even unique to Creshire. Sorry I can't be more help! But I know you'll take good care of it."

Ah... So if even her father has no idea what might hatch from that black-spotted egg, it must be some real rarity. 'Rarities' is such a nice phrase... Given whatever hatches, will have Shiva as its OT and its caretaker... What a nice thought.

"I doubt as well that it's Unovian... But, hmm, true, I'll take good care of it - during hatching process and if it inded hatches. I've been told to show it to a Professor at the local University here once it hatches, so maybe there I'll get to know more. ... Ah, and yes, I'll make sure to see what classes Chreshire's University has to offer. If I wouldn't manage to get an apprenticeship at the Daycare here right away, I can always attent collegue instead, right?"

"So, eh... It's relatively late... And the connection's instable... You have anything important left you wih to tell me? I don't know when I'll be able to call home again, so it might take a while before we get another chance to talk like this."

(Last question from my side -) "Ah, wait... How's Mum doing? Still that many overtime hours at the office? Those medals surely are getting quite an attention, it seems... Also, i hope Spektral does not miss me too much! Make sure to pet him from me!~"


(Note/Reminder, Shiva's mother works at the Medal Office in Castelia that is unique to Black/White 2. Spektral is the home pet and her father's favorite breed, a female Eevee that evolved into an Umbreon by the friendship it developed with his daughter.)
