[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
Well, there nothing that says you can prevent them from firing off the move with either Status (Confusion and Paralysis come to mind), tripping them up with Knock Down (Either they spend an action to get out, missing the Bide window, or the risk missing with it), or the trainer can order Pokémon to avoid it at all cost with either mobility options and/or moves (Noibat could have just fly up really, really high to dodge the move, while Kirlia could use Teleport as a way to automatically dodge a move [if that use is allowed, that is]). Its a pretty strong move, but not one with work arounds. Heck, Ghost types neutralize the move, so worst case scenario either one of our 'mons could have Grapplied Honedge and use it as a (un)living shield to soak up the blow.

In RP games, creativity is sometimes the only option you have for victory!

The wording for Bide in both books is exactly the same:

The user will take the next two hits. After those two attacks, you may use this move again to retaliate with Strength + Twice the damage received from those two hits.

It is pretty vague, but I think the idea behind it is you use Bide, do nothing until two attacks are used on you, then use it again to do damage after you've taken those two attacks (the damage pool being fixed damage equal to strength plus twice the damage taken). If we hadn't beaten that Sawk in round one, we would have been in for a world of pain if it had hit either of our pokemon.

Now if multiple actions had been declared for the move, then it REALLY becomes a problem because then there's the potential to use it the same turn the damage soaking was triggered if your opponent also uses multiple actions.

At least, I think that's how it works. This move might need a little more clarification from the writers. The potential for continuing to attack afterwards is still there due to the ambiguous wording of that first line, unfortunately.

Note: Also interestingly, the move is not marked as having priority in either version of pokerole, much like the gen 3 and before version of the move.

Oh, uh, @Iron, there's a slight naming discrepancy present. Is it Hog Potato or Peanut Swamp?

Going by the Landmark List he's made for the game, it was originally Hot Potato Swamp, but Iron could always change it whenever it suits their pleasure! The only thing I know is that I'm going to visit it as some point, that is for certain!

And I know that Shiva definitely wishes to join if you let her since her favorite Fortune Hunter mentioned there are treasures to snatch at this location~

Hmm... I still prefer gifting Ronin Spearow to Valder than to the Sensei you people battled. @Iron, can Ven still run into me although having a 'tea' at the Dojo?

Reread the little blurb on moves that always hit (on the page before the actual move listings) and the text said this:

If the user scores or is reduced to 0 successes on its Accuracy Roll, this Move still hits with 1 success.

That makes it sound like you CAN'T evade moves that typically never miss.... (barring the usual exceptions like Fly, Dig, and Protect). And if that's the case, then the accuracy roll is only to check for crits...

It can be either Hog Peanut or Hog Potato (two names for the same plant, Amphicarpaea bracteata). Hog Peanut is the more civilized name.

Somewhat I'm enjoying their flowers.
