[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(07-04-2017, 11:15 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Huh.  Didn't see that order from Ventus coming, to be honest.  Shame Nathan's seeing none of that since he figured the battle was over at that point.

More or less the reason he's being merciful is because he doesn't want to really brutalize Shiva's Pokémon, and the fact that, despite his rather clear warnings, she still decides to bullishly stay in the fight against all logic. At this point he's just confused as heck by this behavior of hers, but if she wants to fight, might as well see how she operates against almost literally impossible odds.

OOC, I talked with Phantom about this fight, and decided to let them have more of an active role in the fight, instead of just being Dick Dasterly (I could have been even more cruel by using Ice Fang again, but that's just excessive as both me and Ventus puts it). They want a chance, I'll give them one...within reason, of course.

It's only over when it's over, and it's more fun to me instead of giving up at that point!

Well, this battle was surely fun! I'd be down for a rematch at some later point, with refined actions and orders. Thanks again!

@Lord Windos, I somewhat feel it matches Shiva that she noticed that Ven behaves strangely around her occassionaly, but fails to see why (yet?). That was no 'seducing', rather oozing charm that is likely super-effective on him. Hehehehe!

Ventus doesn't know that, he's only aware that Shiva is attracted to him for (to him) unknown reasons, and he's getting bent over shape about it. On one hand, he doesn't what to mislead or take advantage of his best friend, or possibly exploit her because of their age gap. On the other hand, he can't deny that he find them adorable, attractive (in a mental aspect; her appearance still unnerve him somewhat, but not to a noticeable extent), and a all-around wonderful person to be around. If she keeps up with her antics, he's going to be rather...reluctant to be around her. He won't push her away, but its going to be hard for him to interact with her unless either A) One of the charas makes a definitive 'move' or B) Something distracting happens to take both their minds off romance. Oh dear.

Hahaha, this is totally adorable. To her, Ven's the one who started to subliminally act different for whatever reason after the trip to the Aquarium, while everything she did (like, suprise tacklehug!) was within the terms of a close friendship or showing appreciation in her view. Still, seeing so more and more sides of this researcher, with the cutish bashful one being the newest, fascinates her. But there are no feelings involved, she just acted up upon his reactions.

Going back to Corsage will likely help to get on a different trail of thoughts~ I wonder what you mean by a...definitive move...

This is probably a good time to mention that mass HP healing status moves like Recover normally cost a Will Point to use according to the rulebook. (It's mentioned on the pages with the key for move effect icons)

Wonder what Shiva wants to talk with Nathan about, if she has already gotten advice from Ventus now? Maybe more info? Can't ever have enough of that now!

I already did away with that rule. Felt like a waste of a will point to me, and it was based on Pokemon having will scores of their own.

Healing moves that normally require only a will point now require a basic accuracy roll.

If we start implementing that, then Michael will be rendered useless until he learns Spore and other moves. Enforcing its usage would also cause Ventus to just plain pass out, since his Pokémon will be drawing upon HIS Will score, and he only has one of that. I personally want this rule nixed for this campaign, since Pokémon don't have their own Will score or stats to mangage, and Will already has a solid usage as Anti Despair and Battle helping.

EDIT: Oh, Iron nicked it! Sweet!

I'm not sure Absorb should ever have qualified for that rule anyway. It pales in comparison to a move like Recover (which, on average, still only heals 1/4 your health).
