[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
Absorb and other attacking moves that heal don't require the will point in base pokerole. It's only the mass healing ones like Heal Pulse and Recover that do.

I'm sure the reason it was implemented was for balance. They required both 1 Will and an accuracy check AND a roll for how much HP they recover. With how slow most damage is early game, it's not hard to see why the writers might limit pure healing moves that much, I think.

In that case, I STILL pass out if Ariel uses Recover, which would worry just about everyone in the camp as to why that just happened. Under the rules we have now, it doesn't make sense for Recover to work like it does normally. How about it can only work 3 time during combat before it auto-fails? That way, both the Opponent and us won't end up spamming these moves to draw out a fight, and have to use them strategically. Outside of battle, it can be used however much its until it exhaust the user simply because the Pokémon doesn't have to focus on attack and patching itself up. How about that as a sudden rules patch?

It's only broken on Pokemon that have zillions of hit points more than the damage you're doing to them.

I think I'll just rule on a case-by-case basis that "your Pokemon is too tired to heal that often" if someone (including NPCs) try to use it to stall a battle indefinitely. 3ish is probably about right, maybe more for exceptionally Vital trainers.

Oh... Ah, don't say a thing. I already get it. *snorts* Given that Ventus might feel too relucant, it'd be my job to let ship happen at some very later point... Nothing big she has to ask Nathan, it's more a mechanical thing.

Yeah, I feel like there needs to be some kind of limitation on how often the big healing moves can be used in battle. They're a little too potent, otherwise.

Iron, it's not only Healing Moves that normally require a Will Point - is it that case when the description of a move in Corebook says 'Will'? Most likely. If so, you certainly have to give me the Accuracy Roll of Baton Pass as soon as my Electric Rodents are ready to learn this great move, please.

Oh! Dexterity + Fight + Canalize would and likely will work splendid to me then. Thanks, I'll note that.

(Then Michael will slowly and carefully use Absorb to speed up his recovery, while Ariel practices Recover to heal off her wounds in between Michael's draining. If this takes up an encounter slot, I'm fine with that. Ariel has to learn Recover eventually, and I rather have Michael fit for further training and battles sooner rather than later!)

Didn't want to clutter the Game thread with this, but is it possible that this Healing Session could also count as a Training Session for the two? I mean, given that both are practicing their respective moves and healing off both continuous and substained damage, it would be a reasonable to given them some XP for that, right? Your call in the end, @Iron!

Ok, they can have 1XP each because this is their first time practicing it.
