[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
You challenge a youth to a two-v-two Pokemon battle (a double battle?).

He bears a Sunflora and a Diglett.

Sunflora: (6) + 2 Dex + 1 Survival = 9
Togetic: (3) +5 = 8
Michael (1) + 5 = 6
Diglett: (1) + 3 = 4

Diglett: (1) + 3 = 4

Following his recent string of good luck, he soon found someone eager for a Double Battle, and summon a Sunflora and Diglet to face his given Pokémon. Ventus could only raise an eyebrow at there choice, before shaking his head. "I would think that you would choose Pokémon that would counter mine, not the other way around. If that is your choice, then so be it. Raphael and Michael, so the world your newfound power!" Ventus said, arms crossed as he watched his Pokémon engage the enemy.

The Togetic danced around in the air, before flying straight up to Sunflora's face and letting out a loud Yawn! They then made a fly by on the Diglet, pelting it with glowing Magical Leaves! Michael, meanwhile, did what it has always done best: draining his foe dry either Absorb, which he promptly did so to Diglet!

Order:Togetic will use Yawn to take Sunflora out of the fight for a bit, before using Magical Leaf on Diglet (or maybe both mons). Michael will just eat Diglet alive with Absorb twice per round, before focusing on Striking Sunflora twice per round. Raphael will use Metronome one per round on Sunflora after Diglet is 6 feet under (figuratively!)face and

Swiftfire was getting some good evasion practice in. It seemed to be paying off, too. Grid was getting ever closer to learning Electroweb...Nathan could almost see the electricity laced among the strings of web being fired, now. Almost, but not quite. A little more experience, and the spider would finally have it down. Maybe the friendly battle with Shiva later could help speed that along...

Nathan was spending some quality time with Porygon after boxing the duck for awhile, getting it warmed up again. In particular, he wanted to focus on Conversion. As he'd feared, the last time had been no fluke...Porygon was changing types randomly whenever it used the move...the first time, it was Psychic, as he'd expected. But when used again, instead of reverting to the Normal type, it became...Dragon. And then Water. Steel. Back to Psychic. And then Grass. And then finally back to Normal. And that wasn't even every type the duck had cycled through. Nathan has no idea what's going on with the move...he knows Conversion is supposed to reference the moves Porygon knows when it changes type...but that didn't appear to be happening...maybe Ventus could ask Porygon where it was getting the move data references for Conversion from later...

Training done, Nathan continues to stick with Shiva. As long as she doesn't mind, of course.

"These two are my only Pokemon who can battle. I also have a Metapod, but that's not very useful right now... We can't pass up the chance to make some pocket money. Besides, Sunflora has a secret, one that's wonderful in Corsage Port!"

Youngster Giuseppe Round 1

Sunflora begins to glow right away upon being sent out. Her feet and arms wilt a bit with the effort she's expending, but to everyone's surprise, the gloomy clouds part above the battlefield and the sun comes out, shining severely down on the combatants!

"That's right, mister! Dad says it's a rare mutation in Sunflora's SolarPower gene! Once Sunflora learns Solar Beam, she'll never lose! And we ain't gonna lose this one, either."

Razor Leaf
1* Dex + 2 Fight + 3 Canalize -1 acc = 5 dice
(2)(2)(5)(3)(3) Hit on both Pokemon
4* Str + 2 power +1 STAB -2 vit = 5d6-1
(5)(3)(6)(2)(6) Michael and Raphael take 2 damage.

2 Str + 1 power + 1 stab -1 vit = 3 dice +1

Michael heals 1 dmg

Diglett pops up right as Togetic flies by Sunflora!

Astonish
(3)(1)(6)(1) Miss, due to pain.

Magical Leaf
6 dice, -3 actions, -1 pain = 2 dice, never fail
(4)(2)
2 Str +2 power -1 vit = 3 dice +1
(2)(6)(5) Diglett faints. The youngster shouts more commands to the Sunflora while caring for Diglett.

Michael heals 1 dmg from the Toxic Orb. His face turns a bit purple and his frown turns a bit towards smiling.

Youngster Giuseppe Round 2

(6)(1)(5)(3)(3) Michael and Togetic take 1dmg. 3/6hp for Togetic, -2pain. 4/5 for Michael.

(3)(2)(4) Hit.

"On occassion and rarely... I see. Welp, thanks for the information!" Shiva let that person I randomly made go then. She was curious about such a majestetic ship, but it'll likely (hopefully) will still be there later.

As she turned around to go, she noticed that... Nathan was still around... Whoops, must have forgotten that he expressed the desire to stick with her for today, and that she gladly allowed that. After all, it's been some time since they spend some qulaitative time with one another - Honey Party aside - and she really didn't blame him for wishing to come along to the Training Dojo. Nope, she was rather rejoiced over not being forced to run around in Corsage all alone this time, only with lil' Azu in her arms! So rejoiced that she took him by the hand and dragged him to the Dojo on the fastest way possible.

She was also very relieved that Sensei accepted to take care of this special Spearow after explaining the matters to him. She picked up that the Dojo was busier today, there were many Sailors training, so she expected it being hard to get a hold on Sensei himself, but luckily that fear was baseless. She stroked through the Spearow's plummage a last time before she let the bird fly up from her arm. She liked that bird, she really did, but she was simply not qualified enough to be a proper Master to him.

"Take good care of you now, and become a fearsome fighter... As for the Sticks you formerly had, I might get to bring them to you if I manage to get a hold on them, but for now I believe you have enough....weapons at this place to use." ... "Oh right, Sensei... He was in a temporary ball until now, you might need a reall ball for him. However... I owe you great thanks for hearing me out and accepting this gift from me. I'm sure Spearow will enjoy the Flying Theme coming up, as well as the Dojo getting a good reputation for owning a special Spearow. Or Fearow at some later point. For now, please allow me to train again in your Water Theme with Azurill here."

... He did, yay! So Shiva looked for a quiet and secure spot and carefully placed Azurill in her top hat on the ground, before sitting down beside the mouse. Lil' one gave her a curious and eager look. Master mentioned learning a new Water Move, after all!

Couldn't help but to give Azu some strokes over his ears for giving her such an expression! "Hehe... I see you've been looking forward to this. So... I mentioned you being ready for learning a new Water type move, did I? Right, I did. That move has parctically the same mechanics as your Water Gun, but instead of actual Water, you shoot off bubbles. With quite a force on top of that. Let those bubbles stream and maybe even impair the foes as their hit by your Bubble Beam! It might be not that strong YET, but again... Keep in mind that once you evolved into a precious Marill, you Water-typed moves will receive a nice boost as well."

"Now, give it a try, would you be so kind?"

(I'll be offline for around one hour now, but I'll return afterwads to do a little more progress today. See you then, and thanks!)

The sensei is happy to swap out the Temporary Ball and give it back to Nurse Joy.

Azurill is convinced by your arguments to work hard at her bubblicious attack.

Ventus walks over to shakes their, taking the offered prize money at the same time, looking quite pleased with his victory. "That Sunflora mutant ability was quite spectacular, If I do say so myself! Still, one must remember to leverage that power with great team support, as well as powerful moves. Despite my advantages, you still gave me a challenging fight, and I thank you for that," he says to the boy, before walking over to check on his family members.

Michael looked quite well, actually, as his Poison Heal ability rapidly healed all his injuries, leaving him only somewhat greenish purple in exchange. Given just how energized he feels, he doesn't mind the change what so ever! Raphael looked a bit worn out from his acrobatics and fierce battling, but still gives a happy chirp to their master, proud that his first battle as a Togetic went great! The angel was so elated, in fact, that it started to cheer and applaud for more action! It may be tired, but that doesn't mean it ready to call it quits!

The researcher felt a sudden urge to find another trainer to challenge, but he quickly quashed the sentiment upon realizing his sudden battle lust was due to his flying angel learned Encore! "Magnificent, Raphael! You are just growing by leaps and bounds, are you not? Hmm...I was going to save this until you've learned a few more move, but I now believe denying this would be unreasonable at this point. Now, let's unlock you final, ultimate power!" Ventus told them, before reaching into his satchel and withdrawing the Shiny Stone.

With nary a pause, he brought the radiant evolution stone to his Togetic's skin, bracing himself for its transformation!

Order: Have Raphael learn Encore ( 17 XP, if I remembered correctly), then immediantly evolve them. I want to see what a Togekiss does for this town's gloomy spirits!

'Wow! that's a big ship, must be someone's magnum opus... at least'. Valder is a bit impressed by the enormous ship, he hasn't seen that many ships in his life.

Seeing this as a nice opportunity, Valder would like to check for work close to the ship, they would need help now, right? maybe he can get extra income of it. Though it was also an excuse to get closer to the ship.

(If Valder can get work, he'll ask Ventus if he minds. If he can't work now, then he won't ask.)

An extremely rapid evolution! Even Togetic did not expect this so soon.

As the blaze of evolution recedes, Togekiss is radiant in the gloom and fading Sunlight of Corsage Port. Ventus can feel the positive effects of his Pokemon, partially mitigating the despair. But he doesn't think even a Togekiss' power has had any impact on whatever happens in this town at night.

Togekiss, even more than his prevolutions, is disturbed by this town. As Ventus knows, Togekiss is a traveling blessing, who comes to peaceful towns and places where strife is distant. A wild Togekiss would never come here, and only loyalty to his master keeps Raphael (fully angelic at last) here.

My fault, I forgot to bookmark that post as needing followup.

They welcome Valder aboard the Challenging Gaze, seeing how strong he is. Every sailor's eyes are stern, but they all wear cheeky Poliwag caps in stark contrast to their grim faces. Each and every one carries six Pokeballs on his belt and has muscles to match Valder's.

Two ladders, a staircase, a fireman's pole, and a broad slide lead down to various parts of the ship's underbelly. There's also three cargo elevators. On this upper deck, there's a big cabin suite of solid stone in the center, which hosts all the most important personages. The other quarters are either common rooms belowdecks or wooden cabins above.

Machokes are already unloading a lot of the cargo, but they will hire Valder for $475 a night to do work that requires a little more intelligence. He'd basically be a low level manager, tasked with doing a bit of heavy lifting and a lot of clipboard work.

During this job, Valder actually meets someone from his former life! A tough character with a bald head and many tattoos of fierce Pokemon. You remember him as Fellman, who had always wanted to sail.
