[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

Yeah, it'll be a bit before Inferno is semi-reliable.  I can use it right now in theory, but only if I have no pain penalizations (and with -1 if Flame Charge is in effect).  -5 accuracy is a lot...we'll get around to using it eventually, though.  And it's quite possibly the most dangerous move in pokerole, period.  Even without considering the move's normal lethality, a guaranteed 5 (lethal) damage every turn the burn remains in effect after the move lands is something that has to be seriously watched out for.

Besides, just as I updated Charasheet... Happiness is great and stuff, but Loyalty feels just a bit sweeter to me. Like, I believe a Pokemon can become happy around everyone who treats it right, but only loyal to those the Pokemon really cares for. A stray cat may be happy if you feed her constantly, but that does not mean she likes you and lets you pet her.
Seeing that Cottonee is on maximum Loyalty now... --> [Image: tumblr_oref9z0Ta71vh0d58o4_r1_500.png] Shiva does now call a fluffball her own that absolutely enjoys cuddling with her, but will shed toxic fairy dust to anyone else who gets the idea to do so unasked.

Sylveon also evolves with Loyalty, not Happiness.

That's a pretty good way of looking at it.  Loyal but disobedient pokemon are another major thing to consider.  Happy but disobedient pokemon probably aren't as likely to act in their trainer's best interests as a loyal one, if it comes down to one or the other being a factor.

Of course, the two stats tend not to stray to far from each other for the most part, since loyal pokemon are more often than not really happy with their trainers.

Swift fire learns bloody Inferno?! That's one way of making sure an opponent goes down: by immolation hot enough to turn them into ashes! Totally get it, mate! The more ways we can deal with those scimitars, the better!

You know, I expect for Togekiss to convey the feeling of knowing where the nightmares are from, not just drag them there! Oh boy, was Ven surprised!

If you meet that mysterious furry creature that dislikes my Dream Catcher, greet it from Shiva and thank it for the tuft of fur she's wearing as a necklace hidden to the outside~

What's even better is she learns it for less exp than Fire Blast and Flare Blitz, too.  Only 33.  Fire Spin takes 25 (she has 23 right now).  Fire Blast needs 41, and Flare Blitz takes 49.  And along with Fire Spin (and Flame Wheel, which I have 0 reason to teach her in our system), that's every fire move in her level up movepool that she doesn't know currently.

And also, when she evolves, she gets immediate access to Poison Jab and Megahorn.  Yup.  Megahorn.  5 power, lethal, bug damage.

Hopefully you can at least determine what's causing Corsage all these problems!  Maybe not necessarily solve them, but that's always something that we can address later.  Knowing is half the battle, after all.

This issue came up exactly once for me so far, when Apsis felt like having some tasty artic fox.... Good thing she's my most loyal mon now, counteracting that Disobediance! Happiness has always been more of a priority for me, since Togepi evolves from the emotion, but now I want to max out Corsola's loyalty as well. After all, Corsoreef is pretty nastily...

Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing how much damage she can do with Sharp Coral.  Unfortunate that her defenses are gonna take a hit, but Ventus's team is shaping up to be quite beastly now!

Here's the other question, though: does Ventus even know about Corsoreef being a possible evolution in Creshire?  Does he even know about it's Tandorian origins in the first place?  Another case of character vs player knowledge!

I can say that Nathan knows of Corsoreef being possible in Creshire, since he's both well read and a Creshire native. It'd be silly if he didn't.

Um, Shiva has been pretty hush hush about thAt necklace, so he has no idea it exist. As for greeting the being, when he finds out what it is (Togekiiss will more or less inform him of what through their empathetic bond)' he going to greet it alright. With extreme predujiuce....

Iron said there's a rumor in Chreshire of a Corsola 'growing way bigger all of a sudden', if I remember correctly, so maybe Ven will pick it up at some point.
