[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

And he's actually sort of aware of what's going on too, unlike Ventus and Shiva.

Kinda hard for Ventus to know any better since he somehow teleported to another plane of existence. I'm STILL unsure how the hell he ended up here, instead of back at the Pokémon Center!

A wizard did it.

He'd have to notice it first.  I think the best explanation would be it's a moving light, as opposed to a stationary one, seeing as Houndour don't constantly glow like a Ponyta does, and torches aren't exactly mobile unless there's ghosts involved.

Up to @Iron though if Ventus notices that (or maybe he'd notice Illuminate instead if Nathan does end up having to battle the doggies after all?), and it's up to you to determine if Ventus would even turn around and look in the first place...

I mentioned in a description to Ventus that the Houndour are sometimes visible as a red or purple gleam in the distance. Such gleams are visible to both of you from where you stand.

@Lord Windos please don't make a huge deal of it if Nathan decides to capture a Houndour. Everyone should be allowed to train whatever Pokemon they wish, if they show they can control it. The others put up with your giant disobedient eternally hungry snake, so I think it's only fair. Find some reason to reach a truce.

....Mate, these are borderline demonic entities. Iron even alluded to their nature when Raphael went full Sky Attack glory upon the abominable mutts. Ven would outright kill any of them before your character has a chance to catch them if the end up grouping together, so I guess this is a mute point.

Ventus and Nathan have seen very different behavior from the Houndour. Like all Pokemon, they can mean different things to different masters, or in different contexts.

I really like how Ventus has a core team of conflicting Pokemon - Arbok, who is always shown as an evil Pokemon. Lucifer, who is more Chaotic Good but named after a demon. Raphael the angel, who is a strictly good-aligned Pokemon, but who is the dreaded Fairy type.

I really like how their Master can be the most caring and lovely person, but cracks violently if anything dares to harm those he cares for. Good thing the knife is still in my possession, so the Houndour were not instant-stabbed at least.

I don't have a problem with Nathan getting a Houndour, but Ventus on the other hand...
Look, I honestly don't mind him getting a demon dog, but my character has a pathological fear and hatred of the mystical, magical, arcane, and demonic. Add to the fact that said creatures ganged up on him while he was trying to get his friend to safety, and that equals his total disdain with the species.
I could Let Bathan get the mutt without a fuss, but that would very OOC of Ventus, unless Nathan proved he could handle it.

I'm not going to stop Dragonstrike from catching on, but Vennis going to be unhappy no matter how I interpret events.

This is a case where you cannot simply use your character as an excuse. Just like rogues shouldn't steal from the party. Paranoid professors should not stop other players from building the team they wish. No bullying. Protesting is fine.
