With the Gym Leader's remarks and demonstration of power, Ventus suddenly became quiet, looking tired and sullen all of the sudden. "Magic is , Chuckles, no matter the source and potency. It is a force of great potential.....and of complete destruction. As much as it can benefit the wielder, it can in turn do terrible things to those that do not beware. For what the vile art form's impact on others, " he said, trailing off as his expression became stormy like the ocean sea, but Ventus shook his head, dispelling the gloom that was surrounding him. He couldn't let the dour atmosphere and this mans words get him down, not at this point in the battle!

Oh, and my sincere thanks for the compliment directed towards my Arbok. I do hope you forgive her, however, if she is not in the most receptive mood for the praise; being Cursed and forcibly put to Sleep tends to put someone in the most vile states of minds imaginable, so she might not be able to appreciate your kind remarks," Ventus dryly said, his last sentence so deadpan that that even the thickest of heads would understand it wasn't exactly meant to be polite...

Just as he predicted, when Apsis awoke from her slumber, she was extremely cheesed off by the ghostly ailments that had been inflicted upon her. Seeing that Banatte was still floating around the battlefield, she decided to express just exactly strongly they felt by lunging forward to savage them with a single Bite! Nothing makes fool of her and gets away without a pound of flesh being ripped from them! Not even a Ghost type!!!

Order: Apsis will commit to a single Bite Attack per round on Banatte, until its fainted or she is. She will also resume her role as bodyguard, protecting Grid from any and all assault and forcing the Ghost to face her first if they want to take a stab at them. Hopefully things go well, but my confidence isn't exactly the highest....

Valder does a thoughtfull nod and counters his own thought 'But even so, they didn't get rid of Arbok, which is the one that'll probably give them the most trouble. That snake is strong'.

 (Can my Pokemon learn anything by simply watching this fight?)

Oh, eh... whoah, Shiva did not thought that waving Raphael to her has been noticed by other people on the ship. Neither did she expected her negatively charged rodent being capable of such smooth lovely dancing... Entertaining Entrainment (that's what I'll call it for now) from her partner must have left an impression on her. (Subliminally hintint that Minun learned the move mid-battle, yay!) This will be...interesting to pull off in a battle... The feeling that both rodents would be able to bring up an amazing performance in a Contest also came into play now. Too bad that from what Shva knew before she came to Chreshire, Pokemon Contests were not hed in this region.

On the outside, Shiva remained all calm to the fact that people - and Bellossoms~ - came to watch the battle. As said before, the sun and former numbness prevented an incy-cold response on defeating Plusle, and she was still greatly enjoying the challenge. Secretly though, she was also enjoying the attention she received, and picked up that Raphael caused some awe within the watchers. If she wasn't completely mistaken, there were hints of jealousy sprinkled here and there... Was this what the spotlight tasted like?


"Hmm, nope, no swaping for now. Out with what you have in store for me, dear Nightshade!~" There was some barely hidden curiosity and delight in Shiva's words.

As Grid scuttles back once more, Nathan sends out Starmie!  Now that's a bright beacon in this dismal atmosphere!

"Starmie, I want this battle to be over ASAP!  Bubble Beam, 3 times!  Don't worry about taking too much damage from this ghost, either.  We still have a potion, after all."

3 Bubble Beams from Starmie, each with 7 D6 damage after the Screech lowered Defense is applied!  Time to end this battle!  If Starmie hits a -2 or -3 Pain Penalty, Nathan will use the potion on Starmie. Can't help Grid with the burn this turn because of the switch and need for the potion, but he'll be fine for a turn, at least.
