"Alright then, Grid, you're doing well so far.  Electroweb spam. 3 at a time.  Hold back if you'd KO Durant.  It can't keep flinching you forever."

Oh... Warrior-poet sounds rather melodic. That described Elysia rather well in Shiva's view.... And only increased the fascination for her.

"Prophecy... Do YOU have any skills concerning that, then? I'd love to hear..."

"Oh, and no, I'm not really up for a battle unless you would insist on it... In fact, I'm just passing through the Forest here. Went a little off-track with my Pokemon, but seeimingly that was a right decision in the end..." What followed, was a bashful smile, but it expressed quite an amount of thankfulness.

When offered borrowing an instrument though, Shiva prefered to nudge Braixen and gently encouraging him to do so instead. "Thanks...But...I'm not good with anything concerning music. I'm more of a performer, a tragic dramatist, yet getting complimented on that grace I unwillingly put into movements when I feel like it... However, dear Braixen here, evolved just shortly before, would maybe love to? I feel he enjoys howling in different tones, trying out what he can do with his voice, and takes pleasure in chanting for good fortune."

Couldn't hold it back anymore: "I...also was looking for someone like you, how much do you know about not caring, but REPAIRING musical instruments?"
"Anything can be art. Anything can be self-expression. Now take your weapon and run with it" [Gerard Way]

(Yes it did, Iron! I thought damage would carry over for Counter Calculations, mate!)

The researcher whipped out a Potion and sprayed down with its restorative contents (Just one more left...), before they prompty order Abaddon to: "Counter the damage inflicted onto you by the Heatmor's Fury Strike (Does counter just do 3D6 Damage, 4D6 because it did two damage, or 6D6 Damage total (3D6 for each hit)) , then get ready to weather the next blow! Stay strong, my stalwart battlier!"

Order: Using trainer action to Potion Abaddon, then they will use Counter to reflect the damage it suffered back to that fire beast, and prepare for the next hit! Things are going well!...so far. Knock on fireproof wood...

"Peace! Hope everything goes well for ya in Corsage!"

And he was gone.

Nathan's mood is a little bit better now, but the worry and lonely feelings are certainly still there.  He sighs.

'Well, good times can't last forever...neither can sad ones I guess, but...'

He still isn't ready to approach Shiva or Ventus and talk to them himself, but progress is still progress.  He should be just a little more approachable now, even if he is still a little glum.

Fury Strikes is kind of an edge case, because it's three actions all taken in a row. Counter is worded to affect the most recent one. So I added two to the dice pool of the most recent Fury Strike success. If it hits but does no damage, Wobbuffet still gets to roll all 3 damage dice.

Counter will quite commonly be 3d6 for Wobbuffet because of his high Vit, but of course it will deal more when very powerful moves are used, or if the opponent crits, or when an ability is helping increase the damage pool.

Wobbuffet is fully healed. Seeing this, Heatmor snatches the Potion bottle out of Ventus' hands! He sticks his tongue in there, looking for any traces left. But Wobbuffet has greedily eaten it all.

So Heatmor pulls out a Sitrus Berry and eats that instead!

Now both Pokemon are at full health.

I really like that Counter is more effective in second rounds, since Ventus' high survival makes him tend to go first.. It works great with trainer actions. A savvy opponent can try to break the chain, but Heatmor is just getting angry.

Counter
(5)(1)(5)(5)(4)(6) Hey! The forums said you can crit.
So this will be 5d6!
(6)(5)(6)(3)(5) Heatmore takes 4 dmg! 3/7hp -2 pain.

That pain will cause Heatmor to lose out on one of his attacks.

Fury Swipes
(4)(4)
(4)
Both hit, however.
(5)
(6)
Wobbuffet takes 2 damages. 6/8hp.

The madder Wobbuffet gets, the harder it is for Ventus to hold back laughter, which makes Wobbuffet more determined and awkward. To the point where Nathan can hear Wobbuffet loudly protesting every Fury Swipe even over the noise of his own battle.

Braixen puts up the hide gong and happily whales away on it with his collection of twigs. Bong, bong, bong, bong, bong bong! "Awoo, awoo, awooo!" Bong, bong, bong, bong, bong, bong!

In the distance, Wobbuffet screeches "mraaaak!!!" and cracks away at Heatmor's skull.

The forest is becoming a very noisy place.

"I've been gifted with two prophecies through my muse. Meditite is the one who receives them in his mind, and he must communicate them to me in any way he can discover. Often through his own music or dance. Once, he chanted a dire funereal dirge just moments before I got the call that my old chieftain was slain. Recently, he played some kind of horrible warning, dancing to an eerie, ghostly tune of foreboding doom! I still don't know what that one portends!!!"

"A good skald can repair any weapon or any instrument! I have the tools for fixing most of them in this giant pack, or locked away in Pokeballs."

Ventus was quite surprised at the Heatmor's theft, as it showed a remarkable display of intelligence and recogniztion from the anteater. They raised their eyebrows in intrigued as they comment to them on this event:  "Oh my, you either must have fought against trainers before, or know a healing item when you she it. How fascinating! Something to record in my notes later, after this battle, but thank you for displaying this trait, Heatmor." When Abaddon absolutely clobbered the firey insectivore back down to critical health, though, he could only shake his head at chuckle at them.

"You may know how to heal yourself, but it appear you have not yet learned to control that flaming temper of yours. Trainers and other Pokémon can take advantage of that, making your struggle against them all the more difficult. Here, let me demonstrate: Abaddon, Counter again, then wait and see how this anteater fairs. Let's see which of our strategies pay off, shall we?" The afformented blue demon let out an angry wabble, before it swung its head around to continue beating its opponent into the dirt!

Order: From the top: Counter, then wait and see what they do! I love what you did with Heatmor!....besides that first Safeguard roll, of course.

Counter
Wobb's at -1 pain
(3)(1)(2)(2)(5) Phew
(2)(2)(5) Heatmor takes 1 dmg2/7hp -2 pain.

Fury Swipes
Declaring only two actions, that makes 3/2 dice.
(4)(4)(3)
(6)(3) 2hits.
(3)
(2) No damage.

Heatmor has seen red! He can see that he's slowly hurting Wobbuffet, and probably thinks Heatmor's the one who deserved that potion, not Wobbuffet. He doesn't really understand how Counter works, of course.
