While it was not light enough to clearly see what expression Ventus was giving her, the tone in his voice already told. That was the voice of a man who would sacrifice himself for the sake of the others. While...this was noble, Shiva refused to believe that this would be necessary. Or rater, she refused to think that they might come into such a situation.

She was just about to object on this, saying something like she doesn't want to loose ANYBODY down here, when she felt like 1. there was no point in objecting now and 2. least of all if Ventus alredy decided on the matters.

Nathan summons Swiftfire to bring a little light into the corridor, then walks over to the Burn Drive replica and picks it up before anyone else can.

"Ventus, that statue was probably just going to cover the entrance anyways since the Scimitars aren't playing games.  And from the looks of this chute, that button needed to be pressed if we wanted to get this back."  He holds up the Burn Drive for emphasis, then pockets it.

"Besides, you REALLY don't want the rangers to find out about this and potentially getting the League involved, not if you want a fair shot at finding Silverfish.  And for reference, Teleport doesn't let you leave enclosed spaces like buildings and caves.  Like it or not, we were going to get stuck down here anyways if we can't open the entrance from this side, and I'd feel a lot better with still having the key in our posession than leaving it outside."

"Nathan... It's night outside. There likely won't be anyone on the streets currently. I'm more scared about how we make it OUT here than getting the LEAGUE involved."

"Do you want the League putting the Scimitars on edge when it's discovered they have an underground base in Wineberry?  Because I certainly don't if we're going to try and find Genesect ourselves to keep it from being put straight into another research facility.  Besides, there's a 100% chance of there being a way out of here, we'll just have to find it.  That underwater door Ventus found is probably one of them."

Nathan was actually not wrong on this, but while she stayed on her point and was just about to get annoyed, she refused to get to that.

"Fine... If you say so, whatever. Now please tell us which way you prefer, you can clearly see them with Swiftfire. However, I'd advice you to withdraw her soon, she's just...drawing a little too much attention for my taste."

Ventus shields his eyes from the sudden light brought on by Swiftfire, before he removes his hand and glares at him. Politely as he can, he shakes off Shiva's grip on his and marches right up to Nathan, and gets right up to his face and just snapped on him. "You know what, Nathan? I don't damn care, because it doesn't excuse you acting like a blundering fool. Acting before thinking or informing us of your choices could damn well get us killed in this type of situation . First you press a button that completely cut us off from the outside without even knowing what it could do in the first place, and now you create a large source of light that could alert the Scimitars to our presence and give them the chance to do just about anything to us. They could swarm us, have enough time to set up or activate traps, organize a defense, or , if they are especially fearful and paranoid about one of their base of operations being discovered, just flee and scuttle the entire area, killing us all and doing who knows what else to the town above this place. You didn't consider ANY of that, did you, or if you did, you bloody don't act like it!" the empath furiously whispered, jabbing a finger straight into Nathan face. Oh boy, the boy struck a raw nerve within the researcher something FIERCE.

"Oh, and one more thing: don't you fucking dare use Silverfish or the Rangers against me. You didn't get to befriend them, being ripped away from them because you cared too much, then be informed that that they not only escaped from their confinement, but could be in even worse straights! You didn't have to struggle against the law when you were young, just because if they ever found out you were an young orphan or what you did to just support yourself, they wouldt either lock you up or put you into horrible foster care! Do you have any idea how that makes me feel, every time I think about their fate, and wonder whether or not they are even alright at this point? To have the authorities leveled at me? No. So don't EVER do that again, because if you do...I'll wound you just like what you did to me. Now that I'm finished with everything I said, give me that Drive. You don't deserve to hold it now, not after demonstrating you are not competent enough to handle such a responsibility by recklessly endangering us all!"

Okay, if Shiva wasn't actually scared before - that teeth and skeleton of a Pokemon were barely worth the scare compared to what happened just - she NOW was. Because they were trapped down here, they were way too long at one spot, the light of the fierly horse was just too painful in the eyes and because they likely already alerted someone or anything.

Plus, and likely most important, Nathan was oblvious of the fact that he really should inform the other about what he was doing down here before he did it. They were all down here together.

Ventus already made the points clear enough, all she had to add was a silent, scared and cold plea: "Nathan... Please do us the favour and WITHDRAW SWIFTFIRE. Why did you bring a Fire Type down a Water Scimitars Base, at all?"

He takes it all straight on without flinching.  "I'm trying to help you, Ventus.  I'm using what you told me before and what I know of both Creshire and Unova to make the best informed decisions that I can.  I'd also rather not stumble around in the dark blindly, which is a sentiment the Scimitars probably share.  Swiftfire is a far better option for that second part than Starmie is in this case, but I'll recall her in a moment since everyone seems to want to be mostly blind.  And frankly, I don't feel comfortable giving the drive to you if you're going to lose control of yourself in such a tense situation."

He stares straight back at Ventus and whispers back to him.  "I'm scared and worried beyond belief right now, you know.  Partially because of the situation we're in now, but also because of YOU.  Get a hold of yourself, or we're not going to make it through this.  You can vent your frustrations later."

He backs away from Ventus and looks at Shiva.  "In case you've forgotten, I have Grid if we encounter water pokemon.  And in case you also forgot something else, Scimitars prefer using Psychic and Steel type pokemon according to Valder."

With that, he turns towards the tunnels and starts walking down the path with the skulls along with Kirlia, saying one more thing to those behind him.  "And by the way, Ventus, they're not Charizard skulls, so they're not likely to be historically significant."  And then he recalls Swiftfire, plunging everything into blackness again.

Shiva just stared back at Nathan as he spoke. And somehow, she was unable to believe his words. It was actually no wonder that her response was icy cold.

"Nathan... NATE, you are not from Unova. You didn't grew up there. You have no real idea what the League there is like first handed. STOP ACTING LIKE YOU DO. And please do inform us of your actions and thoughts before you put them into action, in case you forgot, you are not alone down here."
