[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(08-24-2017, 01:55 PM)PhantomUnderYourDesk Wrote: Regardless of his reaction and words, she will now let him have his Pokemon healed up as desired, while she'll pick up Azurill from the table and come over to Nathan. Rather carefully, but not directly shying away. In fact, she gave him a very obervantly smile. "Again, thank you that you found him eventually. So... You still haven't told me what that it is that Professor Mallorn missed to tell us and told your mother instead, but I feel you can do that along the way then. If you're doing okay, we can FINALLY leave Wineberry, just as you desire. Braixen is...still in the forest, but I'm confident he'll meet up with me/us on the way."

Yet another sigh from Nathan, and he looks visibly annoyed again.  "...might as well tell you now...Ventus already knows...he got a damn text about it because he's interested in participating...The Running is in four days.  Tauros, Doduo, Stantler, Nidorino, and who knows what else are going to be charging straight through the middle of Ginger Town from the mountain range in the north, and reckless trainers are going to be running with them, either for their own personal enjoyment or hoping to catch a rare pokemon that'd be hard to find otherwise...ugh...if Ventus and my cousin weren't participating and Mallorn didn't want us to keep an eye out for a Tauros, I would say we should just avoid it altogether, but no..."

Luckily for Shiva, Nathan's a little too incensed to really take notice of that comment about Braixen right now.

Azurill was intimidated, if not scared by that visibly annoyance on Nathan, and dived deeper into her well-known top hat that Shiva was carrying in her arms. She brought it and Azuril along with it closer to herself in an attempt to shield the mouse (and herself) from any negativity. She frowned impercible and held back any sighs on Nathan's seemingly strong disagreement with the event itself and his cousin and...Ven himself?...participating. Especially the later worried her somewhat, but she knew the researcher can be rather stubborn and will likely NOT change his mind if he already decided unless there is a real good reason to do so. She felt like Nathan disagreeing and the potential to suffer injuries will by far not be enough as a reason, this wouldn't be the first time Ven would get hurt by or with Pokemon. Well, hopefully not, he likely has his reasons and if he wants to participate, then he shall have the chance to do so, aaand they should respect that.

Shiva herself knew that she'd prefer to stay as far away from The Running as possible, not only because the mentioning of Nidorino being there.

The tone she spoke to Nathan remained calm, even if this time she took efforts to keep it this way. "Nathan, if they want to participate and have their fun, they deserve the chance to do so. Still, I agree with you that it seemingly is nothing to be taken lightly or is completely safe to do, rather something like 'participating on your own risk'? The snatching of a rare Pokemon interests me when I'm honest, but I already wished to visit the Daycare again, get my Breeder's Lisence and take on Zamboni's Gym, so I'm not sure whether I'll be around."

"Concerning Tauros..." Her expression warmed up a little, "... I read in the Guidebook Professor Mallorn gifted me that Tauros are bred in a place south-west in Chresire, called Teazel Valley. Might be better and more safe to get one there."

"That's good to hear, I'm down to leave Wineberry as well once you got them healed up. Will wait for you with Nathan over there then." Ven was so close on his own will, not nervous at all... Before it got awkward, she eventually let go of Ven for both their sake. "Your apology is accepted. So is your protectiveness, but I feel like I shouldn't have dragged you to the elusive spot. I must have been so concentrated on it that I didn't thought that you might dislike the spot or not feel comfortable there like I did... Next time I should properly warn you, should I?"

"...Perhaps you should have, but I enjoyed what I could from visit to the place, as well as your own company Shiva, so do not worry overly much about it. What done is done, and there is no way to change the past; only to learn what lessons we can from it, before moving on with our lives. Some warning and preparation would be nice in the future if you wish for me to accompany you to similar places, though."

Valder looked at Ventus. 'he's nervous... or, he's trying to pull of something. Same feeling' Valder thought quietly as he tried to understand all the social patterns flying around him.

But, seeing that his boss was back, Valder decided to get his attention back to his one true friend, Theo. "Theo, the boss is back, we should go find ourselves a battle. I want you to show me more of your power and your fantastic Claw.

"Belay that action, Valder. We all want to leave town relatively soon, before the Scimitars start investigating our break in and raid of their base. I suggest a quick bought of training to hone your Pokémon's skill, before we all head out. Otherwise, I suggest you save both yours and Theo's stamina for the treck ahead, my friend..."

When Ventus takes Raphael out of his Pokeball to hand to Nurse Joy or to feed dinner, his empathy picks up on a strong feeling of regret and disapproval from the archangel. -2 Happiness, -1 Loyalty for Raphael. Ventus, you probably knew this would happen, so let's assume you made sure the room was empty first, thus avoiding any suspicion.

The Pokemon is really worried about its place in Master's team: a fairy type, a magical Pokemon, and a defender of the innocent.

Azurill is a happy mouselet, running up Shiva's sleeves and firing bubbles from that hidden location.

Valder, you were foresighted enough to start a training battle with a friendly trainer in the Pokemon Center. You're both pulling your blows and not really looking to win, rather just to spar. Theo makes a sport of it, trying to "count coup" on the enemy.
Froakie is proving to be a bit of a leader, having organized most of the major plays in this sport.
All three of your Pokemon get an XP, plus Froakie gets a bonus training roll.

3 Str + 2 Fight + 0 Brawl
(4)(3)(2)(5)(5) Three bonus XP.

Theo gains 1 point of Loyalty, too.

Y'all leave Wineberry before any Scimitars or Strangers can come snooping. It is not until this point that Braixen reappears, carrying only a single fire-red leaf to explain where he went.

(I feel Ventus will recognize the leaf? Shiva will take it as an ordinary red leaf apart from having a meaning for the fox, I assume. Azurill enjoys playing, hooray! More playing sessions will certainly come.)

Getting a glimpse of what seemed to be a furry yellow figurine next to a tree, nothing was able to stop Shiva at that point. Nothing. Before anyone in the party could say a word or even realize what could have happened, she was already running and directly enveloped her magical fox into a careful embrace, just overjoyed to see him back. (Probably just as delighted as she was when Ventus returned to the Center) Not that she ever doubted to see her fox again, but having him back and safe in one piece...

Only as she let go of him after a little dwelling there close to one another in silence, Master and Pokemon without having to share a word, she realized that Braixen was...carrying something. He showed it to Shiva as she carefully asked to see it without taking it from the fox's paws. ... To her, it didn't looked much different than any other leaf, apart from the deep fire-red colour maybe. However: "...That leaf does likely carry a personal meaning to you, does it? Is it from the den? ...Keep it under your care then, and take good care of it. You don't have to give it to me if you don't like. You're probably tired...You desire to get back into your Pokeball then? We're heading West, so we are about to leave the forest for now."

(Does he show any reaction as he spots Ventus before he'll be withdrawn?)

Kirlia is very stressed. He and Nathan sometimes mirror each other's emotions, magnifying them, causing them to snowball out of control. In Nathan's room, Kirlia seems to be struggling to contain another psychic vision, and eventually it forces its way out. Kirlia cries out, curling up a little, putting his hands on his head. The dark black and white figure of an Absol's head, scarred and surly, emanates from Kirlia's own, growing bigger and bigger until it reaches almost the size of a house. Then it fades into diffuse vapor and vanishes. Kirlia feels a bit better afterward, at least physically.
He knows what Nathan is going through right now, and both are determined to stick together. That fifth point of Loyalty will come when Nathan finally clears up this whole scarred Absol thing.
Princess gains 1 point of Happiness while scouting for Honey.

Braixen simply gives Ventus the cold shoulder and a hint of a tired whimper escapes him as he enters his Pokeball.

(Well, that is one other way to punish me for the Den's destruction, Iron. Of course, if they become too much of a hassle because of a disagreement of morals, I'll trade them away for something more....'accepting' of Ventus world view and ideals. My character loves Raphael to death, but he'll give them away if they can't trust or agree on matters such as that. It would be for the best for him and his archangel in that case...)

In private:

The researcher picked up his dear heavily child's disappointment and broken trust between instantly the moment he released them to be feed, and subsequently was aghast, sorrowful, and almost had a small breakdown over this event. Ventus immediately rushed over to envelope Raphael in hasty, heartwrecking hug, trying to soothe their own raw feeling and uncertainty with his words. "Oh Raphael.... I would NEVER, EVER intentionally harm you with my actions. You are my dear, dear child, one that I love you with all my heart/soul and would do anything for you, so please don't fear or hate me... I'd sooner rip my own heart out and eat it before I even THINK of doing something unfortold against you, and I would do anything to ensure that you are happy, healthy, and safe from all harm. ....Even if it means that I have to give you to someone that is better suited to care for you. I not going to promise to change my ways or how I react to certain things in the future, since I may be forced to do...unpleasant thing out of need or a desire to right what I believe is 'wrong', so if we can not find a way to overcome this difference of ideal between us...then I will do what is best for both of us. I'm sorry, my dear child..."

Valder stops at the door. Turns back and makes an appologetic nod.

"Just wait a bit more Theo. We'll get a battle soon enough".

(I want the Kecleon encounter. But I don't need it. I'll gladly pair it with Sandshrew to give Theo and Froakie a fight together)

After his near panic attack over the sudden schism of trust between him and Raphael (and the subsequent resolution of the situation), the fact that he has now made a permenant enemy of Braixen, and Nathan + Kirlia dire mood growing somehow even WORSE in this short span of time, Ventus was not exactly in the best of moods as he and the rest of the group left Winesberry and the Scimitars behind (For now...) and made their way towards Ginger Town. Fireweed Forest being oddly free of distraction for him and the group didn't help matters either, so he kept his silence and avoided both Shiva and Nathan for the time being. 'No need for me to add anymore discontent among the group than I already have...' the empath morosely thought, trying his best to put on a happy-if-distant façade for the rest of the group, so as not to worry them/raise suspicions.

Upon leaving the forest and making somehead way towards Ginger Town, the researcher spot a nearby Fisherman angling in the Greenbrair (If I remember Correctly) river, and after alerting the group that of his intentions, immediately went over their to challenge them to a rousing battle. Hopefully the battle rush will get his mind of the fallout from destroying the Den (Which he still does NOT regret), or give him something else for his mind to chew over, at the very least!

"Greetings, my fellow angler! I wish to participate in a Pokémon battle with you on this pleasant day, so do you mind the interruption? I am quite willing to wager money if you desire compensation for your time, but I would first like to know what are your condition for the battle may be first. Wouldn't want to get myself into a fight without knowing at least those particular, you know!"
