Yeah, that very blatant disdain for almost anything and everything even a tad supernatural is rather disruptive...it's a wonder Nathan was even able to partially convince him to try and keep it in check, and that still didn't go very well in the end.

It's also another reason Calam isn't exactly fond of Ventus, connected as he is to those natural magics. And Nathan's got a growing respect for those same magics too, so...yeah...

No, it's because of what happened before he joined Team Plasma...like I said, his backstory is a completely different can of worms you don't want to open.

It's the darkest among all the players' so far. Well, that we know of, anyways. We never learned Sage's, and Valder's is still a mystery (other than he knows an unusual amount about the Scimitars, however small...).

These dark backstories again... Shiva enjoys her home with a loving father who teached her about the Breeding of Pokemon, a mother who often has to work overhours in Castelia's Medal Office, and an Umbreon that evolved due to her. Oh, and herbal tea. None ever asked for her background in-game, so it remains.

Nathan's isn't too bad, all things considered. Mostly just a typical story about a kid who just didn't fit in. His dad disappearing and finding a Ralts that nearly died just kinda make it an extreme case.

I kinda find it interesting that Nathan's so far the only character that has ongoing, direct connections to the plot so far (sort of. Kirlia's the real connection for the most part), though. Well, again, that we know of so far. Shiva; Ventus; Heart; and Larry came from out of region for their own reasons, Vincent works for Mallorn, Valder is so far only connected to the Scimitars, and Sage...was just kinda there as far as we know.

I have no problem with that. I'm not much of a fan of such typical backstories or the ordinary plot of a young person leaving home to travel a region for their own reasons, I see that in the handheld games more than enough - that's nothing bad per se actually, but it's more enjoyable for me to decide what I want to do and what not/which path is went on my own. (I also enjoy my side plots greatly.)

Oh... @Iron, actually Lampent should still be in the fight with 2/6 HP since the spectral lamp would receive -1 damage due to Ember not being very effective on it. Dunno, want to edit this or claim me the winner still? I'm fine with both.

Leech Seed got ya again, actually. Took it down from 5 to 4 HP at the end of round 1, so 3 damage removed it cleanly from the battle.
