[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Phantump (4)
Slowpoke (4)

Slowpoke Round 1

Confuse Ray
(6)(5)(1)(4)(2)
Slowpoke is confused! At least, you think so. Hard to tell with these guys.

Water Gun
1 Dex + 3 Fight + 2 canalize = 6 dice
(6)(5)(1)(5)(2)(4)
2 Str + 2 power+1 stab -3 vit = 2d6-1
(6)(5) Phantump takes 1 dmg

The spurt of water glistens on Phantump's wooden head, more of a refreshing mist than a damaging move!

Slowpoke Round 2

Feint Attack
(2)(2)(3)(5)(4)
3 Str + 2 power -2 vit = 3d6+1
(5)(2)(6) Slowpoke takes 3 dmg 3/6hp -2 pain.

Pokeball: (6)(2)
Slowpoke's Will: 3, -2 pain = 1 dice
(2)

Slowpoke is caught!

This guy (or gal) knows his 0Xp moves, Water Gun, Headbutt, and Zen Headbutt. Ability is Oblivious.
He has 1 Happiness and 0 Loyalty, 0 Disobedience.

Phantump gains 3Xp. Heart gains 2XP.

Encounters Route 04 Part 2

For Heart's sake I will briefly explain some of this stuff like wayyyyy back in April!

1. Name: Poochyena* An asterisk in the name means there's something special about it. Could be Overgrown, could know rare moves, could even be shiny!
Cap: 1 (2) This is how many people can encounter this slot. 1 person can catch it, but they can have one assistant.
Challenge: fairly easy.
Bid start: 2. If two people both want to catch this Poochyena, they can bid Experience Points, starting at 2.

2. Name: Slakoth
Cap: 1 (2)
Challenge: very easy. This encounter won't even give XP to the veterans.
Bid start: 1
Notes: I'm rewording the Truant ability. It now gives +1 Strength in addition to its penalizing effects.

3. Name: Trapinch
Cap: 1 (2)
Challenge: easy
Bid start: 1

4. Name: Corphish
Cap: 1 (2)
Challenge: Easy

Well, how neat... It wasn't very hard for her to tell that the candle was indeed quite delighted to be granted such a source of vigor so burn. The flame has such a pretty blue-lavender colour, it'll probably get and amaze Shiva everytime until she got used to her new ghostly companion and feels more confident around him.

Actually, why not start with that right away? The candle may be rather indifferent whether his Master was doing well or not, but that doesn't mean Shiva could at least try to express that she values him? She hesitated at first, greatly, which probably caused Litwick to gave her a weird look, but in the end made it to extend one hand closer to the spectral candle, allowing him to be carried around for a little. This was quite a step for her, but certainly a step into the right direction.

... Regardless whether Litwick accepts or not, Shiva didn't follow the further path. Nope, calling Cottonee to her side - trusting in her Master, she didn't display any fear of Litwick and/or his bluish flame - she turned around and directly forced herself to approach that Move Tutor from earlier. He may specialize in nasty Steel Types, but he was a real Move Tutor... And if Shiva wants to elaborate more on this field, learning from professionals is certainly no worng idea. Probably that's why she desired to keep Litwick out of his Great Ball while talking with that Tutor - Fire melts Steel, and cold mechanical Steel was intimidating for her Fairies. It was a little for Shiva herself, but certainly not to the same degree as Poison was terrifying for her.

"Ehm... Welcome. No, I don't desire to have any moves teached to my Pokemon. In fact, I already sucessfully teached two moves to Pokemon, which were Double Team and Nasty Plot. I'm...certainly interested in elaborating more on the field of Tutoring, so please do tell me, you have any advice to give along the way? Perhaps how to move on from teaching non-damaging to damage-dealing moves, or find my specialization, just as you decided for the machine-like Steel Type. What has caused you to do so, and how long did it take for you reach the point where you are now?"

---------------
Mechanics:
Not much talking, just having these (for Shiva) valuable questions answered, then discreetly get away and run into the special Poochyena. Obviously, she feels not very well around so much Steel.

After caching the Slowpoke Heart could see a Venipede. Looks dangerous but bloody hell, that would be awesome to catch! He took Viktor and ask:

"Ready for another fight buddy?"

Viktor nod and Heart give orders.

"Same recipe Viktor! Confuse Ray one time! If fail use again! Then use Feint Attack!

Orders: Confuse Ray, then Feint Attack. If his HP became low, use right away the Pokeball. Try to not faint Venipede.
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.

Litwick is willing to perch on your finger like a bird.

"The Steel Type is a specialty of Stair City, where I grew up. I even got a few lessons from Dagny. You should not be afraid to talk to powerful battlers, not just academic types. A good manner - like a doctor's 'bedside manner' - can make a big difference. You want your client's Pokemon to feel comfortable around you. For example, I would be reluctant to tutor your Pokemon, for they seem to be wary of me. Someone else would be a better match. One must recognize these limitations."

If I recall correctly, you have a deeply vested interest in history, legends, and lore in general, so would you like to discuss what should be done in regards to it? Thank you!"

Nathan's pretty dang annoyed with Skorupi, and he still isn't a big fan of catching wild pokemon forcefully, but there was no way he was going to let this Poison Fang using scorpion hang around this route.  Too many inexperienced trainers could get ambushed by it.

Not long after recalling Grid and retrieving the Great Ball, Nathan notices his 'dex beeping.  The message is about what he expected to hear, and some rest was exactly what Kirlia needed right now...

But then Ventus mentions a...Slowking?

He has to blink a few times at that and take a minute to process it.

How in the heck did he get a King's Rock of all things?!  Where's he getting all these extremely rare items from?

Bah, he could ask Ventus in a little bit...truth be told, he was actually...rather interested by this potential Slowking.  For several reasons.  Maybe, if it were evolved at Vapor Falls...

Nathan's actually somewhat eager to get to the campsite now, and not just because Kirlia needs some rest.

Though on the way there, he spots yet another item glinting in the sunlight...

Another valuable item, coming right up!

As the sun began its descent into the western horizon, Ventus slowly stood up from his spot by the firepit he'd just finished constructing/lining with wood, smiling in contentness as everything was neatly made and match to his vision. He noticed that a few hours had passed by the time he put the finishing touches on camp, and decided that now was the time to what the evening hours would hold for him and his family. With a snap of his wrist, Lucifer was summoned from his Pokémon, and with the his master's request: "My little devil, would you mind helping me scour the area once more for arcane babble and hidden treasure? I know we did a thorough job earlier this morning, but doing a once over shouldn't be too much of a grueling or tedious task, or so I hope," they both set out, eager to uncover even more precious loot from Route 4!

Order: Rare Items for Lucifer and Ventus again, Iron! Today is the day that just keeps on giving, hehehe!

After Pilo expressed his feeling of his swineless name, Valder catches up with the rest of the group. However, he takes a small detour and is awarded (I presume) by a trainer item.

lLitwick's willingness to take place on her finger greatly reminded Shiva on the encountering of Fletchling, with the difference that the bird was fluffier to hold. Litwick was mostly a wax-like thing, and the flame was light and somewhat warm the more Shiva was close to it... It wasn't hot, though. Probably even eerily cold to touch. But she couldn't help but enjoy this, even if she didn't spoke that out to Litwick himself. So, her liking is 'only' displayed with a quiet "Thank you, lil' one" and the handing of the Chesto Berry she found earlier on the Route, which Litwick...dissolved until it was nowhere to be seen.

She actually didn't reply much to the Move Tutor, but honestly thanked him for his words of advice, "I'll keep your words in mind. Until then, maybe we'll meet in the city of Steel again..." before discreetly getting away for now. The appreciation to having sucessfully acquired a fierly Litwick as well as for the Pokemon itself received a subconscious boost, maybe there was a chance to not fail spectacularly in the upcoming Gym...

Lost in thought and pondering about the Tutor's words, Shiva didn't even realized that there was movement a litte aside the path. Another Pokemon? This Route was surely filled with more Pokemon than Shiva expected from the looks of it... It'll probably be Cottonee or Litwick who will arise their Master's attention on it.

"A doctor's bedside manner, okay... That might mean openness for every Pokemon that is brought to me for tutoring should be treated as an own one? That would be the same thing if I'd start working at a Daycare, here or at Dad's... Talk to strong battlers, this likely includes the Gym Leaders themselves?"

It was also getting darker and darker, and with that Shiva's appreciation to have an own bluish source of light additionally to the street lamps by the path. But, she didn't manage to get a glimpe on her other party members along the way. Where the hell were they all?!

Quick Flash Forward

By the time Nathan reaches camp, Kirlia's having to lean pretty heavily on Nathan's arm for support.  The poison might not have lingered, but that wound still looked pretty nasty.

All Nathan says to Ventus's (probable) shock and worry is, "Skorupi with Poison Fang and Venoshock.  In the tent.  We can talk there."

Nathan's primary concern right now is Kirlia.  Other topics could wait for a little bit.
