Could do a pair of training sessions along the journey! Just come up with some kind of training that could be done from the back of a Metagross.

A trainer battle complete with seeking out opponent and resting afterward takes 3 hours, and it's only 7 am right now. If you're waiting on Stable Z to arrive, you have time for a short trainer battle (minimum XP is 3XP for any battle that gives you the slightest challenge). If not waiting, then there's not time to have a well-rested Apsis along with you.

Hmm....in that case, would having Apsis doing target practice with Acid Spray on Metagross with Ventus suffice as a Training Session? Now that I think of it, does Ventus also has Director North's number so he can just call them and tell them the situation over the phone and head out immediantly with the others instead?

Also, you might want to give some kind of indication that Apsis learns Poison Fang, given that is not a regular move her kind learns and Ven would kind of be in the dark about it since he knows almost squat about breeding.

Ohhh, two Training Sessions I wanted Shiva to do for a while should work on the back of a Metagross without problems, even if equipment and Ven sharing a Metagross with her take up some space. ^^

I do think it's reasonable that Ventus can speculate that Vapor Falls is the general area Mesprit is in (Nathan was chasing Calam in that direction, and Ventus did follow for a short time), but unless we say Shiva said something to Ventus about where Nathan was going, he wouldn't know that's where Solomon was evolved.  Nathan only mentioned where he was headed to Shiva, and Ventus wasn't exactly in a mood to inquire himself as I recall.

Aside from Hidden Power attacking with Unown and his ability to read, Nathan's not really said a whole lot concerning Solomon.  I don't think the party has even met Solomon as a Slowking yet.

Heart technically has the clearest idea were Mespirt is located, considered he saw Nathan battle and capture Callam their after swimming out from behind the waterfall, but I wonder if he would put two and two together now....

Besides, if we use the Metagross on loan to head to the swamp, don't we still have to pass Chicory Lake? Azelf has been seen there, as well as (quote) 'it's called the "Little Ocean" in the ancient tongue, and some have believed it to house a watery legendary, who manages to summon storms and tsunamis even though it's not the real ocean.' And there's ONE more thing in the Chicory area that Nathan would like to look into...been awhile since it's last come up, though.

Azu might also like to visit Chicory.  There's apparently wild Azurill there, so there might also be Marill and Azumarill.

Well, Heart didn't see Nathan and company go behind the waterfall or exit from it.  He might have seen the three of them were a little damp if he looked carefully enough, but he was also at the top of the falls while Nathan and company were at the base, so that might have been a little difficult to spot.

Shiva probably has a clearer idea than Ventus as well if she thinks about it a little.  Nathan did tell her he was headed to Vapor Falls to evolve Solomon, after all, and she also saw Nathan chasing Calam in the direction of that landmark.

All Valder and Dagny have to go on would be the video footage of the Running showing which direction Nathan left Ginger Town from.

Then there's the matter of who would know there's a cave behind the waterfall...it's a well known fact among most Creshireans, but foreigners probably won't know the cave is even there (Shiva's guidebook might say something about it though, I guess).

It's a good thing that Calam's needed to 'unlock the door' of Mesprit's chamber, really, and that he, Nathan, and Kirlia are the only ones who can sense exactly where it is.

*flips through virtual pages* 'It does describe Vapor Falls as a great hideout for rarer Pokemon, but mentions it's extremely difficult to actually get in there.' Alongside what you already said (Nathan telling where he heads to in order to evolve Slowpoke + the chase of Absol), it sounds enough that she might cotton on where Mesprit resides. She'll keep thoughts about this for herself.

Yes, this discussion should definitely be moved over here.

And yes, I plan on bringing Yule.  Can't take Grid to a place with practically no electricity if he hasn't evolved yet, after all.  

But again, that's only two mounts (I can't really reasonably include Calam in that category).  If Heart or Valder would rather no sit on a Metagross while traveling on the flatland stuff, we're going to need at least one more Ponyta.  (Let's see...Valder has Pawniard, Haunter, Piloswine, Froakie...does he have 2 empty party slots?)
