Right now the vote is 3 vs 2 , with Ventus/Shiva/Valder wanting to forge through the swamp, and Nathan/Heart wanting to take the path towards the lake and avoid most of it? Any last minute decision changes, guys?

No, not from my side. We need to hit she swamp at some point anyway, sooner or later.
Maybe I should have taken Tropius with me to fly Shiva around to avoid most of the muddy path Metagross is slowed down by - but actually, she's interested in the natural loot that can be found exactly there below the surface and I would like to train Poochyena a little more.

Well, in that case and the fact that Nylon said Valder was going to vote with his boss unless convinced otherwise, then the Swamp Path is the one that wins in the end! Time to get to mucking!

I will prepare my swamp boots. Perhaps with luck we might find a neat Mudkip. Love that Pokemon :3

On that note, can the party actually catch Pokémon in this swamp area, or is this part of the area that requires that Stamp Mallorn gave Ventus waaaaay back, Iron?

Only the National Preserve has that rule. It's in the NE corner of the swamp.
