Ventus might care enough not to abandon you in the midst of a mental breakdown and provide comfort, but he's not going to start investing himself enough in you to start caring about your own character's background info/association for quite awhile. He's still quite angry and indifferent towards you by and large, its just now tempered to levels where its no longer toxic or hateful.

I don't care actually, as right now its just the name of a person that will either have no impact on Ventus and the party during their quest, or will eventually be encountered by the group and everybody will learned about them in depth anyway. That, and I could just have him take note of the name and do his own investigation if I'm inclined, but I'm not sooo.....

...I don't even know why I bother sometimes...here I am, trying to have Nathan be the 'information guy', particularly on topics concerning Creshire, and nobody seems to even want to use that resource...

Hey, don't mistake my comment as total apathy towards his story/world building! I enjoy all the effort he's put into the campaign and the little details, especially when it comes to how he handles Pokémon, Cheshire's culture around them, and what he does with each location in the world he builds. I loved the what he did with Corsage, the intrigue he's building with the Scimitars and Almanac, the Running event in its entirety, and The Pokémon Shelter and Technophile Café in Stair! The thing is, however, I prefer to experience the story as it goes along and investigate details that are directly relevant to our characters/our character's quest through it, rather than ask questions about details that Ventus can either infer for himself or wouldn't care much about at all. I enjoy the work that Iron has put in this campaign, I truly do, for if I didn't I wouldn't have stuck around and continued playing. I just have different ways of enjoying it than you do, and have different priorities while playing it.
