[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

So, I did some reading on Castform, and was reminded of some interesting stuff.

- First of all, Castform were originally a manmade species (which I can never seem to remember off the top of my head).  It's the only non-genderless one, too, which is likely part of the reason it can rarely be found in the wild in Unova and Alola in the games.

- Forecast got buffed in Pokerole.  Now it works in Sandstorms too.  Fog, Shadow Sky, and Strong Winds have no effect on Castform's form in the games, though. Cloud Nine and Air Lock also negate Forecast's effects (as well as Weather Ball's)

- Castform's emotions are afected by the weather as well according to the Sapphire and Ultra Moon dex entry.  Rogh conditions = Rough Castform.

- Dex entries from gen 7 seem to conflict with earlier ones on whether Castform's form change due to forecast is due to its own will.

- Castform are like Vaporeon in that their molecular structure is very similar to that of water, which is why all their forms are clouds.

- Putting Castform in a fridge won't change its form according to a dex entry from Ultra Sun. (#relevant)

- Weather Ball's power is increased if any kind of weather is active, but its type only changes for the 4 core weathers (and Shadow Sky) in the games.  It's also unaffected by -ate type abilities, interestingly.

- Shiny Castform only looks different in its normal form (might not be relevant, but it is interesting to note)

- Pokemon that Transform into Castform originally followed Forecast's rules and effects, but starting in gen 5, would be unable to change forms with Forecast. (Definitely a relevant ruling that needs to be made if the group has both a Castform and a Ditto) However, a Castform that has Forecast negated/lost will not revert to its normal form, remaining stuck in its current one until its ability is reactivated/regained (except in gen 7, where Castform reverts to its normal form until the ability reactivates. Again, it seems a ruling would be needed.)

Ohhh, with that and the fact that they barter at full price in mind plus the shared money Ventus gets from selling the hatchet, Shiva will have her fun buying lots of natural stuff. However, I'm not the best at math, so if any of my calculations turn out incorrect, please correct me then!

@all, while I'm on it anyway and seeing that the threat of the vines is that dire, I definitely want Shiva to go to the Nature Preserve, meet up with some of the Mamo people who live there, and see if she cannot summon the South Wind Incarnate with the help of their magical flutes and Shamisen Ven found as soon as we got it repaired. I feel this will progress things greatly, unless any of you have a better or faster idea about how to journey to the end of the earth/beginning of the land, that is.

Given that it works, it's a journey without return though, as 'she' cannot fly us home, only northward. This is why every other business in Arrowroot Village should be finished before going that way. I'll have her bring this idea up in-game when an opportunity arises.

Yeap, I want to at least get 3000$ From battling and some more supplies before we get going, as having that big of a nest egg is vital IMO.

Oh right, he has the stamp that grants him the only catch of the party within the Preserve! I'd be happy to join in the Encounter of the Pokemon you'll decide to catch, just to have Shiva and Ven share such a moment. (Unless something else REALLY catches my interest)

Lol, I won't urge to go there right away. Everyone should take their time to prepare, but we shouldn't wait too long given how the situation in Stair City has grown more serious. Poor steely city :C

Azurill evolves into Marill!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee <3 Guess Shiva will stay even LONGER at the bonfire to celebrate that. Pretty sure she might be inflicted with a Pain Penalization due to staying up half the night...

@Lord Windos, what did you once said about making cake or in general hold a celebration once her Azurill evolved?~ Clebration's already ongoing!

Congrats!  Happiness based (and other roleplay influenced) evolutions are definitely hard to achieve in this system depending on GM interpretation, so it's great to see all that work finally pay off!

Especially when the Pokemon in question has specific desires. Great work, Shiva/Phantom.

Ahahahahahahahahathanks! Given that Azurill started with -1 Happiness it's certainly sweet so see her now with 5.

Hmmm... Iron, I wonder if Water Sport would stack with Rainy Weather? The first prevents the power of Fire Type moves (including own ones) being added to their Damage Roll, while the latter grants i.a. -1 damage of Fire Type attacks. I actually don't see why this should not stack and this would be a cool time for the blue mouse to learn this move PLUS I have two firm Grass Types in my team = relatively useful move?
