[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Little Cup Practice Round 4

Bite
(4)(6)(1)(1)(5) = 2 successes
Evasion1: (6)(3)(5)(6)(4) Orthros dodges the Dark type! Both dogs have their tongues out. Poochyena looks very confident that he can beat a Psychic type, and Orthros just enjoys battle.

Ember 2
(5)(3)(1)(3)(5)
(6)(4)(5) Poochyena takes 3 dmg 3/6hp -2 pain.
Shield dust.

Now the dogs are on equal footing!

Fire Spin: (6)(2) Nothing.

Hmmm...so it's NOT part bug type, it seems...the fire didn't seem to catch at all...

...though now that Nathan looks a little closer, he can see the dust coming off of those wings. Does it have...? Interesting...

Nathan's getting into the swing of this battle now. Forthright looks a little...puzzled. They're hurting each other...why are they hurting each other? She doesn't quite get it still, despite Nathan's earlier explanation and the assurances from him and Shiva.

Shiva still observes her butterwolfly's performance against a Psychic Type with a rather uncommon emotionless expression on her. Nothing of her inner monologue and fear plus distrust towards Yena's foe is shown on the outside, but Ventus with his empathic traits would probably be startled of what and how much is actually going on within her, would he be nearby.

The room is empty. But that doesn't mean much, since Kurp wasn't planning to stay there forever.

Heart make a disapoint sight. "Damn. I was so much excited to tell him about our adventures and even invite him to join the dinner..." Heart sight again. "Well, I hope he just go out or something and return. I need to apologize him about left the place without tell anyone. Nathan Drake really know how unpleasant, rude and a big jerk with everyone around, even with his friends. He really need to learn how to be more social with people damnit!" Then Heart begin the prepare everything. "Well, it will take time to everyone join so I will need you here to cut the ingredients Koa!" Then Heart begin to prepare the pasta and take time to prepare the pokemon food for his pokemons and for the others. This will be a long day.

Little Cup Practice Round 5

Shiva clenches her fist, and even Nathan can see that she is (successfully!) dealing with a lot of emotions.

"Yena! Do a Bite attack and work through the pain!"

Bite
(5)(6)(1)(4)(6) = 4 successes, pretty good odds
Evasion1: (4)(2)(1)(3) Thanks to Shiva's good example, the attack lands.
(1)(1)(1) Welp. at least the super effective part works. Orthros takes 1 dmg 2/6hp -2 pain

Ember 2
(4)(1)(5)(6)
(3)(2)(5) Yena takes 1 dmg 2/6hp also.

Ember 3, holding back since only 1 dmg is needed.
(2)(5)(3)
(2)(5)(6) Yena is out of the battle. He trots away, unconcerned, and slobbers on Shiva's shoe.

Fire Spin: (6)(2) Nothing.

Nathan gives Orthros a (careful) pat on the head (behind the ears).  The Fire Spin's almost over, and Orthros seems to be enjoying it still despite how much damage the move did to him earlier.  He gives a friendly bark to Yena.  Dark type or no, that was fun!

"...not bad, Shiva.  Not bad at all.  You're really giving me a run for my (metaphorical) money here. I...wasn't expecting Orthros to do that well, to be honest...good job, boy.  And well fought, Yena." Nathan...seems to be having fun? It's a little hard to tell, but it's there...

Forthright is watching this strange dog with wings carefully...why's he look so happy?  Didn't he just get blasted with fire a few times?  He looks tired, too...

...

...there's less worry now and more puzzlement from Forthright.

Shiva remained an emotional void on the outside and a silently growing thunderstorm on the inside, but she was doing a fine job keeping herself under control. She has a valuable chance to win here, just as much as a chance to learn and practice in a controlled environment here, this is what she kept repeating in her mind to stay calm.

Only when her butterwolfly followed her call, gave everything he got on his probably last Bite  and ended up channeling his energy wrong to not defeat his Psychic rival before being hit by an Ember in return, that facade of his Master was threathened to break. ...It didn't, though. She was clearly struggling now, but since SHE HERSELF desired this to be a friendly and fun battle and won't allow this to be spoiled in any way, she pulled herself through. Somehow. It was exhausting, but worth the effort.

When Yena came to her, Shiva kneed down to him to ruffle the fur on his forehead in an appreciating way not saying a word, before she gently stroked him under chin while motioning to look at his Master. The following words are probably not audible for Nathan unless he concentrates on them, as they're directly for Yena. "...Now, now. You did a fine job, we were just...out of luck it seems, but since this is practice, we'll learn and try again harder next time, okay? I've trained you to defeat Ghosts in the first place. Seems like we need to expand this to Psychic Types. For now...do enjoy your deserved rest..." Yena got recalled then, before Shiva got up again with her third Pokeball in hand already. She was alright. The figurative dragon to defeat has only bitten her in the hand, it wasn't all over yet. Oh, looks like she has to teach her Poochyena some manners as well, one does not slobber on other people's shoes. But maybe such a thing was inevitable if you're dealing with doglike Pokemon, maybe Yena even meant this affectionately.

This was also the moment she actually concentrated to her 'foe' and the battlefield again, when that...praise came to her? Huh?! She was not expecting it, but praise was sugary sweet. "Uhm... T-thanks, I guess? I'm trying... You were damn lucky that you defeated him. Well, eh... let us just keep on then."

Who could best match up against the otherworldly Deltadog?
Why, a Pokemon from space!

Out comes Comite. (5) The strange rock goes first against the trapped Pokemon.
