Though the Old Unown is translatable to a player through cryptoquip solving, it's really intended to be almost another language, so you need a good background (such as Lore or Solomon) to even have a chance. This was already handled with Heart, although Ventus has more Insight than Heart.
Here's an example of Old English to show how divergent a language can become in a mere 1000 years.

Should note that Mallorn specifically wants a Skrelp for his business operations, so it's not really for science. Not really a mystery in-character either, as Nathan and Vincent would be able to tell anyone.

It needs a looot of time, probably suitable diet and +1 point in Loyalty though before we even dare thinking in the slightest about a Dragalge.
But I'm just as surprised over what hatched from that purple egg as well - if I had to guess, I'd count for either a Purrloin or a Costraw(!). (Before th egg oozed liquid that is)

I've been thinking about one point in Lore for Shiva, but more 1. for the true name of a Pokemon spirit in need for Cleanse Tag, 2. she has learned so much about Chresire so far from Guidebook and telling that it sounds reasonable.

Dragalge is probably my favorite dragon of all time. The thing is amazing.
And then Naganadel came along and said 'I can do that, but BETTER'.
These fairy killing dragons are monsters, I tell ya. MONSTERS!
And we love them because of it

Naganadel doesn't feel like part of the ecosystem, though, and rightly so. Whereas Dragalge is very believable! Such a thing could easily exist IRL (all the Leafy Seadragon needs is poison!)

I haven't even reached the point in UltraSun to battle or even obtain a Poipole, but my team is already scared of it because I'm making a Psychic/Fairy Playthrough.

Definitely not a part of THIS ecosystem, that's for sure.
But in its home dimension? It's a starter pokemon of all things (well, Poipole, that is).
Talk about scary, right?

Don't worry about Poipole too much. Psychic types are great weapons to use against it!
As for obtaining it...well, it's easier than you might think, actually...

That's really cool. And hey, just like Tandor, it's a 2-stage starter!

Yeah, the lore of Ultra Space is...kinda weird. In a really interesting way.
Crazy dangerous though, when you have city destroying beasts like Guzzlord roaming around in a world void of all natural light. *shudder*
And for the record, Nathan doesn't know much of anything about Ultra Beasts and the lore behind them (International Police covered the incidents up REALLY well).
...yet.
