[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Ventus gets a video call back. Mallorn is eating noodles.

"Dr. Zachariah. Good to hear from you, boss! What all did you have to tell me? A weird Beautifly? I might be able to pay something for that, if it's weird enough."

(Not the best encounter since Igglypuff is Normal/Fairy Ghost can do nothing against it and Dark dont do much. Great.)

"In fact lady that would be a dificult battle. Two against one doesnt sound too much as a fair match to me. My Phantump dont know many offencive Grass moves, and his only ofencive moves is Astonish and Feint Attack and both of them its not much effective. Can we do a fair 2x2 fight instead?

Almost every Pokemon has a little bit of a barrier around its heart, making it hard to trust humans. It's the bestial side of Pokemon, I'm afraid. And perhaps we deserve that distrust, at times. Otherwise, perhaps, Pokemon would be wiped out by predators. Pokemon like Azurill evolve by opening their hearts in some way. Anyway, to continue. In Orre, some Pokemon were found to have such powerful locks around their hearts that they could no longer feel love or reward. Truly an awful thing."

"Oh, that...barrier around a Pokemon's heart sounds familiar, actually! I realized that there's quite a difference between interacting with a Pokemon one has pursued and befriended to eventually make it to join one on free will and a Pokemon one has battled and worn out to eventually catch it. A Pokemon that cannot feel love though... I cannot imagine that. What's the point of owning and training such a Pokemon...?" Quite honestly, simply the thought of such a coldhearted Pokemon made her both sad and fearful.

"Uhm... Do excuse me to ask, but where exactly lies the Orre region? Is it far from here? I'm originating from the metropolis of Unova, but never really been interested in other regions than Torren and Alola. Maybe Jotho."

You would easily win the battle, it's just a question of how long it would take.

"Oh no, my little babies are not ready to fight 1 on 1. Why don't you talk to my son, Winfred - he has a Staryu and a Kricketot he is trying to evolve. I'll call him for you."

"Glad to see you still have a healthy appetite, Dr. Mallorn! To cut to the chase, this Beautifly has a strange variant of the ability Shed Skin which, upon being triggered, causes it to devolve to its previous evolutions! Given your interest in evolutionary studies, I thought having such a specimen to research in depth would greatly appeal to you. As for the stipend, I am aware that you typically don't indulge in charity, but if I may make an argument on the Shelter's behalf, perhaps I can persuade you to loosen those purse strings of yours?"

"No no. Not necessary. We take the battle against your Igglypuff babies. We accept that battle against your babies. But no Copycat move please."

"Oh, I don't truly know where Orre is in relation to here! I came here by boat, with much delay. It's far across the sea, though. It's not neighbors with Unova or Johto or Alola or Torren, I know that."

"Training a Pokemon with a closed heart is not rewarding...until you manage to befriend it through its pain. Then you need to find a special artifact of some kind to unlock its heart. And THAT, my dear, is very rewarding! That's something I'm very interested in - there are rumors of such an artifact here in the capital city region of Creshire."

"They don't know Copycat, don't worry. They are quite young, only just hatched. We can hold our battle back here, at this jungle gym behind the Pokemon Center!"

"Oh no, I simply cannot afford to keep my business afloat if I give something for nothing. But I believe I can offer Director...North, right? Offer him a suitable recompense for such an odd Pokemon. Perhaps I could arrange it to come as a partial share in the patent I am thinking of developing. Then the fine Director would have a steady supply of money in exchange for his charge. Who knows, we may even strike it rich together, haha! Thanks, boss, I'll give him a call tomorrow."

"Sounds good to me. We promise not faint your little pokemon whatever possiple ma'am. Thank you."

After some preparation Heart begin to give his orders. " Even they are just babies Viktor dont let you guard down. Remember you have a typing disavantage. Dont faint her pokemon okay? First of all lets begin with some life resource. First use Leech Seed in the first Igglypuff, then go ahead with simple Knockdown two times against the second one! But avoid faint them whatever possible okay?

Leech Seed Acuracy: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Canalize (3) - Acuracy (1) - Actions (3) = 5d6
Notes: At the end of the Round roll D1 Chance to damage the foe and restore 1 HP.

Knockdown Acuracy 1: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Brawl (3) - Actions (4) = 5d6
Knockdown Acuracy 2: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Brawl (3) - Actions (5) = 4d6
Damage: Dont remember the dice roll for damage.
