This news has a much better chance of granting Ventus access.

"You're supposed to wear the gauntlet every time you enter a base, dude. Remember that next time. Whatchu got loaded in there?"
In the confusion, it seems they have forgotten all about the salute.
The lab is only as big as you see here, just this one room with computers and wires and discs.
One of the computer screens shows a video feed of the Little Cup. You're watching a guy in a golden belt battle. He's squeezed his massive frame into a rather small suit, and the golden belt is wrapped around that almost as if holding him in. His Pokemon you cannot see, just a blue dot, but it summons a colossal wave that wipes over the battlefield and drains off the cliffside, leaving his opponent fainted - wasn't even a type that was weak against water, let's say something pink that could be a Snubbull.
"No sign of Gren and Greave yet. When they give the signal, it's lights out for the Little Cup!" says the one guy to you two.
The other guy is still pointing his gauntlet at the computer, and he grins upon hearing this.
You don't need Insight 5 to know that doesn't bode well.

'Slightly interesting matchup', Tanuki said. 'Highly interesting matchup' is what Shiva would have said! It manifests what she already soft-knew: Science is awesome.
Though that poisonous coat on her sweetish now bittersweet cherrylike Pokemon being true to her nickname certainly worries her, but she does barely show any of that uncomfortable worry on the outside. 'It'll wear off after a while...', she keeps repeating in her mind, every of these repeats brings a little more calmness back to her. Good thing that just yesterday she bought poison-resistant lab gloves. Bad thing she didn't wear them currently.
Her foe receives one of her almost-trademarked respective bows. "Th...Thanks for such a demonstration of an altered Hidden Power! It's...definitely interesting in many aspects. Now then, hop back to me, Nightshade, for a moment of rest - You did an amazing job, and do not worry too much about your lost power of your magical leaves - later we'll take a look weather I can't help you getting rid of that purple layer on you faster." When Nighshade obeys, Shiva catches her in her open hand more out of routine than on purpose - did it gave her a similar feeling like that purple liquid that Mystery Egg oozed right before hatching?
"Curious what second Pokemon you have!"

"Grid, Calam, disrupt his focus. Keep pressing once you've done that, Calam."
Screech on Scimitar A!
Accuracy: 4 Dex + 3 Fight + 3 Canalize - 2 Actions = 8 D6
Effect: -2 Defense. Loud noise.
String Shot on Scimitar A!
Accuracy: 4 Dex + 3 Fight + 3 Canalize - 1 Accuracy + 2 CE - 3 Actions = 8 D6
Effect: -1 Dex. And he's even more tangled in web!
Taunt on Scimitar A!
Accuracy: 5* Dex + 3 Fight + 0 Intimidate - 1 Pain - 3 Actions = 4 D6 (kinda low, but Calam's a scary guy, so this is probably a little intimidating whether it works or not)
Effect: No more non-attacking shenanigans from the target like bursting rafters and turning incorporeal and summoning illusory copies! Just attacking and evading!
Night Slash x2 on you know who.
Accuracy: 10 base - 4/5 Actions - 1 Pain = 5/4 D6
Damage: same as before, but with +2 more after Screech is applied
Effect: still only 3 successes to crit

The purple ooze is slightly similar to Skrelp's - they are both aquatic poisons, you could say. Real life seahorses aren't closely related to sea slugs though. Cherubi's is obviously far, far weaker. You can even tell that just by the smell in the air.
"My second Pokemon is Taillow!" (5) Going first once more. "Same as my sibling's Pokemon! We both optimized our Taillow in different ways - as an experiment!"

Quick Attack 1
6* Dex + 3 Fight +2 -3 actions = 8 dice
(6)(5)(3)(6)(4)(2)(4)(5) Critical hit, potentially. 6 successes.
Evasion 1: (5)(4)(3)(2)(1)(6) Surskit is just wayyyy too fast on that film of water. Koa had a chance against him otherwise.
2* Str + 2 power + 2 crit -3 vit = 3d6
(3)(1)(6) Koa takes 1 dmg 2/6hp
"You like how fast my Surskit is? When I saw rain in the forecast I knew today would be his day! He was a bit wasted on yesterday's opponent."
Quick Attack 2
(6)(2)(5)(6)(3)(6)(3)
(4) Koa takes 1 dmg 1/6hp -3 pain
Koa's reaction to Heart's words is just to grit his teeth and attack without feeling the pain!
Slash 2
(5)(2)(3)(1)(1)(6) It hits but no crit.
(5)(3)(4)(5) Surskit takes 3 dmg 2/5hp -2 pain
Quick Attack 3
(3)(4)(1)(6)
(5) Koa faints.
"Heart is out of the match. Don't be sad, though - you were in the Top 32 of the Little Cup in the biggest city in Creshire! We up here in the tower salute you and your brave little dragon."
Heart defeated one of the Pokemon so he can split 6XP among his fighters in this match. He gains 3 for himself.
This is an official League event, so Heart gets a stamp on his holographic Trainer Card stating that he was in the Top 32!
Koa looks pretty happy in his faint - he agrees that you should go down fighting if you go down!
Heart was a bit sad with the result. He was hoping fighting Shiva in the finals. Welp at least he is not some kinda of Ketchup or something to loose every time. But he is quite help to fight until the end. He pick up Koa and say to him. "You did a great job Koa. You make a awesome battle out there my friend. I think you will grow as a big Haxorus someday my friend. I believe in that!" Then Heart thanks the guy he battle. "My friend, thanks for the great battle." Then Heart go in the nurse close to the crowd to heals his pokemons. Then he sits and begin to cheer for Shiva. "Hey Shiva! Go foward girl!" Say Heart chearing his friend. Even when he loose, Heart dont loose his aura of cheerful person!

I forgot Sandstorm last turn. Everyone takes 1 dmg including Nathan but not including the Scimitar.
Scimitars Round 3
Screech 1 - it works
(3)(3)(2)(3)(4)(3)(3)(2) Terrible roll, good results! -2 Def for this guy
Taunt 1
(3)(5)(6)(4)
Scimitar fell for the Taunt! He has actually been thinking about trying to steal that Absol. Now he wants to attack it and steal it even more!
Check it out, he goes incorporeal anyway!
String Shot 2
Night Slash 2
Puppetry 2 - The supernatural attack hovers Grid over Calam's head, hoping for a static discharge upon landing. It also shakes him around a lot, getting grit in his eyes. He hates that.
(5)(5)(2)
(4)(3)(2)(4) Grid takes 2 dmg, bringing him to 3/6hp again with Sandstorm. This time Nathan can more easily just spray him with the Potion from cover.
Night Slash 3
(5)(3)(5)(4)
(2)(3)(1)(5)(3)(3)(6)(5)(4) Scimitar A takes 5 dmg He's accrued 12hp dmg. He should be falling soon!
Sandstorm gives Calam and Grid -1 hp. Nathan's fine this round.
Let me know if you want to hold back on any upcoming attacks.

"Oh dude you are lucky then. We have to use 'spells' probably three or four times a day. It sucks. Gives 'em some exercise, at least, I guess?"
"If you want to help, keep an eye on these security cameras. Make sure no one else gets in here. I'm not sure what job to give your grunt buddy - he's got a Pokemon, haha! I wasn't expecting any reinforcements until later." He might be getting a little suspicious right there.
"When I say Lights Out, I mean it literally. We're going to cast Charge and then cast Electrify and then cast Magnetic Flux and then cast Eerie Impulse for the finisher, knocking out all power to the Battle Plateau. Gren and Greave head in, get the location of the Secret Library from the girl, and then head out while everyone is still trying to figure out what's going on! The rain can only help! Gren and Greave are packing Ground, of course. If you've got a standard load then I guess you can't really help with this part of the op, so you're on support. You can still watch the fireworks though!"
The other guy adds "Our spells should look a lot like a normal power failure, and no one is being directly attacked, so I figure the cops won't investigate too much."

Nope, no holding back (with the exception of the lethal damage from Night Slash). This guy's getting floored too. Last potion goes into Calam to bring him back to full HP. Grid's sitting at 4 HP now after that 3rd round of Sandstorm (or is he at 5? Does a Sweetroot count for Potion effectiveness halving for the day?).
"Calam, once more. Night Slash! Grid, trip him up if he's still standing!"
Night Slash x3 again, but now with no pain!
Accuracy: 10 - 3/4/5 = 7/6/5 D6
Damage: 7 D6
Effect: We know what this does.
Knockdown x2 (using all that webbing he's standing in since Grid's a small little guy)
Accuracy: 4* Dex + 3 Fight + 2 Brawl - 2/3 Actions - 1 Pain? = 6/5 D6 (+1 if Grid's actually at 5 HP)
Damage: 0 Power + 3 Strength - 3* Defense = 1 D6 Minimum
Effect: -1 Accuracy until he spends an action to stand up.

Huuuh, a Taillow! A nasty Bird Type. Maybe it was a good call that Nightshade was a Poison Type now, while it bereaved some of her power, it also beraved her of her weakness against her arch enemy...
"Welcome back on stage, Kyuu. I know you're pained, but... A good actor does not show any pain or discomfort unless their role demands it. BLAST US WITH YOUR PSYCHIC POWER PLEASE!~"
Orders for this Round: I could spend a WillPoint here to ignore Pain... but I feel that has a good chance to not turn out as fruitful as desired. I'd rather save it for Gym Battle. Light Screen is still active.
Accuracy Roll Confusion 1: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 2 Actions - 2 Pain = 4d6
Accuracy Roll Confusion 2: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 3 Actions - 2 Pain = 3d6
Damage Roll: 3 Strength + 2 power of the move + 1 STAB = 6d6
Additional notes: 1 CD to confuse Tailow. Maybe we're lucky here!
