[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

And the game rules give you no guidance at all on TMs, so there's nothing for you to compare it to.

All that said, there is a reason: HMs. HMs are godly artifacts from an era long gone by. By comparison, TMs are pointless, failed attempts at replication.

I compare the TMs to the base game ones and the Pokémon that can learn it, and while you ARE allowing certain TMs to be stretched to include potentially Swiftfire and Solomon in the list, you are deliberately drawing lines or are planning to draw lines between what the TMs in your games can be taught to and not. The core rule book for Pokerole may not have a lot of details about TMs usage, yes, but it by no means says you can't apply base game conventions to Pokelrole to them. The comparison may not be explicitly there, but it would be hard to say that you couldn't draw one yourself.

Honestly, I'm beginning to find the Legendary HM concept to be a wee bit grating, especially if by setting it as the gold standard you have to denigrate otherwise powerful and useful tools that are just plain TMs . If we ever find one at any point in the story, and Ven is the one that earns it, I might just sell it on principle alone, if not for the oddles of lovely Items he would get for such a trade.

If y'all don't like TMs I could just do away with them and increase monetary rewards across the board instead. I don't consider them a necessary part of the game at all, just a bonus.

I'm only complaining about the TMs denigrate functionality in your game, not their presence or still pretty good usefulness. I love having Stone Edge or other TMs like Rain Dance in the future for Kingdra, since they rather important for their own performance on and off the battlefield, so I don't WANT them to vanish or be an non-option now or in later cases. My complaints mine alone, so I while I like them being considered, I don't think just it warrents removing TMs from the game entirely.

I'm totally fine with the way you handle TMs.

Ok. The weakening thing relative to the handhelds is not negotiable but noted.

I'm fine with it too.  Besides, I have a chance to use a Pay Day Rapidash because of it!  Yay! (Despite Nathan not being the most optimal user of it, but eh.)

On a different note...the pokeballs.  I'm fine with splitting those equally.

I'll keep that in mind, but that just means if Ventus gets a TM he can't use for some reason, it'll just still in his inventory for all time, unless it can be put to good use by his fellow party members and he gets compensated for his loss.

Me too. Never hurts to have a ton of Pokeballs.

So, besides the issue who gets Aerial Ace and Thief (Or if they get liquidated instead), everyone else has the TMs and we have a 3/5 Vote to split up the Pokeballs evenly. Does that mean we can progress with the campaign (IE: Ventus can exit the meeting and spend more quality time with Shiva to comfort her) and just have the reveal of Valder's contact be implied/happened for common knowledge of all?

Great minds think alike, that's exactly what I was just posting.
